Claims (4)

  1. A process for evacuating bottles of liquefied petroleum gas, characterised in that:
    - the bottle of liquefied petroleum is cooled in a bath filled with a cooled liquid to between -5 and -10°C, when it contains butane, and to between -50 and -55°C when it contains propane,

    - an inert gas is injected under pressure which expels the liquefied petroleum gas to the outside,
    - the sealed device is removed from the bottle.
  2. A process according to claim 1, characterised in that the inert gas is nitrogen or carbon dioxide.
  3. A plant for the evacuation of bottles (B) of liquefied petroleum gas characterised in that it comprises:
    - a bath (1) filled with a liquid with a freezing point below -20°C when the gas bottles contain butane, and below -65°C when they contain propane,
    - a system (2 to 5) for cooling the liquid in the bath (1) to a temperature of -5 to - 10°C when the bottles contain butane and to a temperature of -55°C when they contain propane,
    - a conveyor (4) for the bottles in the bath (1) causing the bottles (B) to pass successively to a cooling station (6) for sufficient time for the gas contained in the bottles (B) to reach the stated temperature, to a station (6) for unscrewing the valve and to a station (7) for expelling the gas contained in the bottle (B) to the outside with inert gas, the plant having a sealed device with an orifice for injecting the inert gas and a glass tube discharging at the bottom of the bottle at the evacuation station.
