The invention relates to a modification additive for asphalt masses and to the manner of production of asphalt masses for the creation of mineral-asphalt mixtures having a high shear modulus. The essence of the invention is a modifier, characterized in that it comprises 50 to 97% of cyclopentadiene oligomers, which are dissolved in 2 to 30% by weight of alkenes with 9-11 carbon atoms in a molecule, and 1 to 15% by weight of cyclic and aromatic olefins, wherein the latter are segregation residues of other hydrocarbon fractions. The liquid asphalt mass is added to the above-mentioned modifier in a quantity of 0.1 to 15% by weight at a temperature of no more than 185ºC and kept in a liquid state for at least 15 minutes. The modified asphalt obtained in this way, together with the mineral additive, forms mineral-asphalt mixtures having a high shear modulus.
Description
The subject of the invention is the modification additive for asphalt masses as well as the way in which the asphalt masses are produced for the production of high shear modulus mineral-asphalt mixtures. It is known from patent specification No. 363816 a modifier for the production of the mineral-asphalt mixture comprising from 50 to 70% by weight of unsaturated hydrocarbons C 5 to 30 to 45% by weight of a stabilizer - in this case a benzene solution of non-aromatic ring hydrocarbons C 4 , C 8 in the amount up to 20 percent by weight relative to the benzene and to 0-10% of ethanol. . From the Polish Patent No. 317,685, a liquid thermostable modifiers for the heat to be used road asphalt masses is also known, which consists of the following: 0,5 to 20 wt .-% high-boiling oils with the solidification temperature of not more than 1O 0 C, 0.05 to 5% by weight of N, N-di- (polyoxyethylene) -alkyloamines having from 12 to 22 carbon atoms in the alkyl chain and containing from 4 to 15 oxyethylene groups, further from 0.025 to 5% by weight of thermoplastic styrene-butadiene Styrene elastomer and up to 100% by weight of alkylamide-polyamines and / or 2-alkylimidazoles having 12-22 carbon atoms in the alkyl chain. From patent no. 336806 is known the method of preparation of an elastomeric asphalt binder containing inter alia a styrene-butadiene-styrene elastomer and / or a styrene-isoprene-styrene elastomer in the amount of 1 to 8%. From patent No. 373932 is known the modified petroleum asphalt containing from 0.5 to 30% by weight fraction of the post-pyrolytic oil which is a by-product of the olefin pyrolysis of gasolines and has a boiling point of more than 300 0 C and by the softening temperature of more than 50 0 C is marked.
The use of known modifiers for asphalt compositions as well as the production methods of the asphalt compositions are not particularly favorable after comparing all their rather high production costs with their strength properties described by the shear modulus. In addition, during their installation and processing at higher temperatures, toxic and carcinogenic compounds of benzene and its derivatives are excreted into the environment.
The object of the invention is the development of such modifier and method of preparation of asphalt masses that the developed product in the form of a mineral-asphalt mass is characterized by very good mechanical properties, is environmentally friendly and has no negative effects on directly on the production and molding of people working in mineral-asphalt mixtures.
The essence of the invention is a modifier in the form of a mixture of organic compounds containing from 50 to 97% by weight of cyclopentadiene oligomers, from 2 to 3% by weight of alkenes having from 9 to 11 carbon atoms in one Molecule and 1 to 15 wt .-% of cyclic and aromatic olefins, these latter are the separation residues of other hydrocarbon fractions. In order to obtain asphalt compositions which, together with a mineral aggregate, yield high-modulus mineral asphalt compositions in accordance with ZW-WMS 2007 (IBDiM), the modifier having the above-mentioned chemical composition is mixed with an asphalt binder as follows:
