Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a timepiece with minute repetition, comprising a rake hours a desmodromic connection between this rake and an end of a drive spring, a manual winding lever integral with the rake hours, a hour clock cam to limit the degree of winding of the driving spring to the number of hours to be struck, a quarter rake, a drive link between the hour rake and the quarter rake, a ringing cam quarters to limit the movement of the quarter rake to the number of quarters to ring, a minute rake, a drive link between the quarter rake and the minute rake, a minute ringing cam to limit rake movement minutes to the number of minutes to ring, two striking hammers each associated with a stamp, teeth and levées to selectively actuate each of the two ring hammers according to the time indication to ring.
  • Time-repetitive timepieces of the aforementioned type have been known for a long time.
  • Such a mechanism is described in particular on the site www.horlogerie-suisse.com in the Complications section.
  • the hour rake drives one end of the mainspring by a rack engaged with a pinion integral with the end of the mainspring.
  • This pinion is integral with a ratchet hours engaged with the striking hour of hours.
  • the ringing of the quarters is controlled by two teeth integral with the quarter room and the minute ring is controlled by a set of ratchet teeth of the minute room, driven by the quarter room.
  • timepieces with minute repetition are given in the documents EP 1 429 214 or EP 1 760 545 .
  • the different rakes must be free and for that they must be separated from each other by sufficient games to avoid contact with each other.
  • the ring gear associated with the different rakes must control four ringer lifts. This is how each hammer is actuated alternately by two striking lifts. This superposition of organs that must be separated by sufficient games to move freely relative to each other occupies an important place in height. This is the reason why it becomes difficult to make a timepiece of low height with such a minute repeater mechanism, including a wristwatch, for which the thickness is a particularly critical element. But a classic repetition mechanism greatly increases the total height of the movement.
  • the object of the present invention is to overcome, at least in part, the aforementioned drawbacks.
  • this invention relates to a timepiece of repetition minute according to claim 1.
  • each hammer is actuated by a single lift which works with a single toothed member.
  • the minute repeater object of the invention also allows a simplification of the mechanism.
  • a pin 6 engages a star with twelve branches 7 on which is fixed a spiral cam 8 called hours cam divided into twelve steps and thus makes two turns in 24 hours.
  • Each cam 1, 3 and 8 is associated with a rake.
  • the minute cam 1 is associated with the minute rake 9
  • the quarter cam 3 is associated with the quarter rake 10
  • the hour cam is associated with the hour rake 11.
  • the latter comprises a winding lever 11a and a toothed sector 11b engaged with a wheel 12 on the axis of which is fixed an end of a ring spring (not shown), the other end is secured to a fixed part.
  • a ringing wheel 13 is screwed on the wheel 12.
  • the three rakes 9-11 are pivoted about the same axis on which they are held by a screw 14.
  • the hour rake 11 is connected to the rake of the quarters 10 by a pawl 15 secured to two pins 15a, 15b.
  • the pin 15a is engaged with a spring 11c cut in the hour rake 11, which tends to rotate the pawl 15 clockwise and the pin 15b is engaged with a two-spoke cam 16a, 16b visible on the figure 4 .
  • This cam is integral with the frame of the timepiece.
  • the pawl 15 moves along an arcuate surface of the quarter rake 10 concentric with the pivot axis coinciding with that of the screw 14 for fixing the rake 10.
  • This arcuate surface comprises at least one end a toothing 10a and a stop 10b.
  • the cam 16a, 16b is designed to engage the pawl 15 with this toothing 10a as will be described later.
  • a second pawl 17 identical to the previous one, with two pins 17a, 17b is respectively engaged with a spring 10c cut in the rake of the quarters 10 and with a two-spoke cam 18a, 18b integral with the frame of the watch.
  • the pawl 17 moves along an arcuate surface of the minute rake 9 concentric with the pivot axis coinciding with that of the fastening screw 14 of this rake 9.
  • This arcuate surface comprises at least one end a toothing 9a and a stop 9b.
  • the quarter rake 10 is pushed counter-clockwise by a spring 19 and the minutes rake 9 is pushed in the same direction by a spring 20. In the clockwise direction, the minute rake 9 is retained by a stop 34 secured to the frame.
  • the minute rake 9 has a beak 9d to take the information on the minute spiral 1
  • the rake of the quarter 10 has a beak 10d to take the information on the quarter snail 3
  • rake minutes 11 has a beak 11d to take the information on the hour cam 8.
  • the ringing wheel 13 has two teeth 13a, 13b, the first to ring the hours and the second to ring the first note of quarters and minutes. A space separates these two teeth 13a, 13b to provide a silence when the repetition sounds 11 hours plus one, two or three quarters, to distinguish the hours and quarters.
  • the teeth 13a, 13b which are ratchet teeth act on a ringing lever 21 pivoted on a fixed axis 22 having a pin 21a engaged in a groove in a circular arc 23a centered on the pivot axis 22, formed in an arm 23 articulated to a hammer 24 pressed by a return spring 25.
  • each ratchet tooth 13a, 13b raises the arm 23 which then falls under the pressure of the return spring 25 which makes the hammer 24 hit against a gong 35.
  • the quarter rake 10 has an arm 10e which terminates with a ratchet 10f which is intended to engage with a second ringing lift 26 identical to the lift 21, pivotally mounted on a fixed axis 27 and engaged with a arm 28 articulated to a second hammer 29 for striking a second gong located below the first gong 35 and not visible because covered by it.
  • This second hammer 29 is subjected to a return spring 32 and is intended to strike only the second note of the quarter ring alternating with the first note struck by the hammer 24.
  • the upper surfaces of the bell raisings 21 and 26 each have two planar surfaces on two respective levels, forming between them a bearing against which the end of an arm 30a for the lift 21, respectively 30b for the lift 26.
  • arm 30a, 30b are integral with each other and pivotally mounted about a fixed axis 31.
  • a return spring 33 serves to simultaneously apply the ends of the two arms 30a, 30b against the bearing surfaces of the two lifts 21, respectively 26 to maintain the ends of these lifts in the paths of the teeth 13a, 13b, respectively 10f.
  • the lever 11a When we want to operate the minute repeater, from the position of the figure 2 for example, which corresponds to the position in which all the rakes 9-11 are brought back to their abutment positions and that the timepiece indicates 11 hours 59 minutes ( figure 4 ), the lever 11a is moved in the opposite direction to that of the hands of the watch to arm the motor spring secured to the wheel 12 and to bring the nose 11d of the rake into contact with the hour cam 8. As soon as the lever 11a is moved, it releases the rakes 10 and 9 which are moved in the same direction as the hour rake 11 by their respective springs 19 and 20, until their respective beaks 10d and 9d come into abutment against the cams or snails quarters 3, respectively minutes 1.
  • the mainspring drives the wheel 12 counterclockwise so that the rake of the hours is driven in the clockwise direction of a wheel. shows and sounds the first gong 35 struck by the hammer 24 at each passage of the lift 21 on a tooth 13a, in the case of the figure 4 at each passage of the eleven teeth of the toothing 13a.
  • This ringing is followed by a brief silence corresponding to the passage of the lift 21 of the teeth 13a to the teeth 13b.
  • the ratchet 15 of the hour rake which has reached the abutment against the abutment 10b drives the rake of the quarters 10.
  • the ringing of the first gong 35 by the hammer 24 alternates with the ringing of the second gong by the hammer 29 controlled by the arm 28, the lift 26 and the toothing 10f integral with the arm 10e of the rake of the quarters 10.
  • the pawl 17 When he has finished the ringing of the quarters, in the example of the figure 4 , the pawl 17 has arrived against the stop 9b of the minute rake 9 and drives it to the stop 34 by ringing the fourteen minutes strokes.
  • the motor spring drives the wheel 13 to bring the lift 21 between the teeth 13a and 13b.
  • the pawls 15 and 17 are engaged by the respective cams 16b, 18b with the first tooth of the ratchet teeth 10a, 9a while the minute rake 9 bears against the abutment 34, preventing any movement of the rakes and thus any ring after the ring of the single stroke of one hour.
