Abstract

A removable spiral book (B) comprises a cover (10), a spiral binding element (20), a plurality of inner pages (30) and at least one locking rod (40). The spiral binding element (20) is placed between a front cover portion (11) and a back cover portion (12) after binding the inner pages (30) together and is passed through a plurality of through holes (15) of a spine portion (13). The locking rod (40) is inserted into a clearance (50) formed between the spiral binding element (20) and the spine portion (13), and is fixed at the spine portion (13). The spiral binding element (20) is restricted by the locking rod (40), such that the cover (10) is assembled with the inner pages (30) stably. By pulling the locking rod (40) out of or inserting it into the clearance (50), the inner pages (30) can be removed from or assembled with the cover (10), while the cover (10) can still be re-used, so as to avoid wasting the cover (10), which is environmental friendly.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention
  • The present invention relates to a book, and more particularly to a removable spiral book which is environmental friendly since it has a detachable cover that can be re-used.
  • 2. Description of the Prior Art
  • Referring to Fig. 1, a conventional book A comprises a cover 100, a spiral binding element 200 and a plurality of inner pages 300. In a center of the cover 100 is provided a spine portion 101 having a plurality of through holes 102. The spiral binding element 200 binds the inner pages 300 together via the through holes 102 and positions the inner pages 300 in the cover 100. However, after the inner pages 300 have been used or broken, since the cover 100 and the inner pages 300 are undetachable, the cover 100 must be thrown away together with the inner pages 300 and cannot be re-used.
  • The present invention has arisen to mitigate and/or obviate the afore-described disadvantages.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a removable spiral book comprising a cover, a spiral binding element and at least one locking rod. The cover comprises a front cover portion, a back cover portion and a spine portion. The spine portion is defined with a plurality of through holes. The spiral binding element binds a stack of inner pages together. One end of the locking rod is provided with a bending portion. The removable spiral book can be assembled by first placing the inner pages and the spiral binding element between the front cover portion and the back cover portion, and making the spiral binding element pass through the through holes and protrude out of the spine portion, such that a clearance is formed between an outer edge of the spiral binding element protruded out of the spine portion and the spine portion. Then, inserting the locking rod into the clearance, making the bending portion hook to one end of the spine portion. Thereby, the locking rod restricts the spiral binding element and prevents it from disengaging from the through holes.
  • By pulling the locking rod out of or inserting it into the clearance, the inner pages can be removed from or assembled with the cover, while the cover can still be re-used, so as to avoid wasting the cover, so the present invention is environmental friendly.
  • At an inner side of the above-mentioned bending portion facing the locking rod is provided a protruding pole which is engaged in corresponding one of the through holes.
  • The above-mentioned spine portion is provided with a plurality of folding lines, and the locking rod is provided with a ridge which is acute-angle in cross section for pushing against the folding lines.
  • At least one end of the above-mentioned spine portion is defined with a recess for retaining the bending portion.
  • The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, which show, for purpose of illustrations only, the preferred embodiments in accordance with the present invention.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
    • Fig. 1 is a perspective view of a conventional book;
    • Fig. 2 is a perspective view of a removable spiral book in accordance with a first embodiment of the present invention;
    • Fig. 3 is an exploded view of the removable spiral book in accordance with the first embodiment of the present invention;

    • Fig. 5 is another partial assembly cross sectional view of the removable spiral book in accordance with the first embodiment of the present invention; and
    • Fig. 6 is an exploded view of the removable spiral book in accordance with a second embodiment of the present invention.
    DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
  • Referring to Figs. 2 and 3, a removable spiral book B in accordance with a first embodiment of the present invention comprises a cover 10, a spiral binding element 20, a stack of inner pages 30 and at least one locking rod 40. The cover 10 comprises a front cover portion 11, a back cover portion 12 and a spine portion 13. The spine portion 13 is defined with a plurality of through holes 15. The spiral binding element 20 binds the inner pages 30 together. One end of the locking rod 40 is provided with a bending portion 42, and at an inner side of the bending portion 42 facing the locking rod 40 is provided a protruding pole 43.
  • Referring to Figs. 4 and 5, the inner pages 30 are assembled with the cover 10 by first placing the spiral binding element 20 which binds the inner pages 30 together between the front cover portion 11 and the back cover portion 12, and making the spiral binding element 20 pass through the through holes 15 and protrude out of the spine portion 13, such that a clearance 50 is formed between an outer edge 21 of the spiral binding element 20 protruded out of the spine portion 13 and the spine portion 13. Then, inserting the locking rod 40 into the clearance 50, making the bending portion 42 hook to one end of the spine portion 13 in such a manner that the locking rod 40 is fixed at the spine portion 13 and the protruding pole 43 is engaged in corresponding the through hole 15a. Thereby, the locking rod 40 restricts the spiral binding element 20 and prevents it from disengaging from the through holes 15.
  • After the inner pages 30 in the notebook B have been used or broken, the user can pull the locking rod 40 out of the clearance 50, such that the protruding pole 43 will be disengaged from the corresponding through hole 15. Thereby, the spiral binding element 20 is not restricted by the locking rod 40 any more and will be disengaged from the through holes 15. At this moment, the user can remove the used inner pages 30 along with the spiral binding element 20 from the cover 10, while the cover 10 can still be re-used with new spiral binding element 20 and inner pages 30 again.
  • Referring to Figs. 3 and 4 again, at an inner side of the locking rod 40 facing the bending portion 42 is provided a ridge 41 which is acute-angle in cross section, and the spine portion 13 is provided with a plurality of folding lines 14. When the locking rod 40 is inserted into the clearance 50 between the spine portion 13 and the outer edge 21 of the spiral binding element 20, the ridge 41 will push against the folding lines 14 and then push the spine portion 13 inward, so as to make the front cover portion 11 parallel to the back cover portion 12.
  • Referring to Figs. 2 and 5 again, at least one end of the spine portion 13 is defined with a recess 16 for retaining the bending portion 42, such that the locking rod 40 can be flushed with the end of the spine portion 13 after it is fixed to the spine portion 13.
  • Referring to Fig. 6, the removable spiral book B in accordance with a second embodiment of the present invention comprises two locking rods 40 fixed at both ends of the spine portion 13, so as to cooperate with the larger sized notebook B. The structure and feature of the locking rods 40 fixed at the spine portion 13 of this embodiment are the same as that of the first embodiment and will not be described in detail.
  • To summarize, the present invention is characterized in that: the cover 10 is assembled with the spiral binding element 20 which binds the inner pages 30 together by at least one locking rod 40. After the inner pages 30 have been used or broken and need to be replaced, the user can remove the used inner pages 30 form the cover 10 by pulling the locking rod 40 out of the clearance 50, and then assemble the new inner pages 30 with the cover 10 by inserting the locking rod 40 into the clearance 50, while the cover 10 can still be re-used with new inner pages 30 and spiral binding element 20 again, so as to avoid wasting the cover 10, so the present invention is environmental friendly.
  • While we have shown and described various embodiments in accordance with the present invention, it should be clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.
