Abstract
Description
The invention relates to an infrared heater, in particular for heating halls, stables and greenhouses, according to the preamble of
Such infrared heaters are sold by the applicant for a long time, and include a generally horizontally suspended, downwardly open reflector housing in which a radiation tube is received, which is acted upon by a burner, in particular by a gas burner, with a heating medium and the Heat in the form of infrared light radiates into the hall. The burner is accommodated in a box-shaped burner housing, which is arranged on the front side at one end of the radiation tube outside the reflector housing.
In the known infrared heaters there is the problem that the air from the radiant tube through the radiated infrared radiation between the radiant tube and the underside of the reflector housing is heated very strong and escapes in undesirable manner as convection heat over the lower edges of the side walls of the reflector housing, from where it rises in the room to be heated and serves only unused to heat the air in the upper part of the hall.
A disadvantage of the two radiation heaters mentioned above, it is also here that the dissipated energy is used in an inefficient manner for heating air, and accordingly no longer is available as radiant energy, with which the heating of objects at a greater distance from the radiant tube in considerably more efficient way by the transfer of heat radiation, ie of infrared radiation. Thus, it was found by the applicant that in the previous radiation heaters of the type described above escape between 15% and 40% of the energy used in an undesirable manner as convection.
Accordingly, it is an object of the present invention to provide an infrared heater in which energy losses due to incipient convection are further reduced.
This object is achieved by the features of
Further features of the invention are contained in the subclaims.
According to the invention, an infrared heater, which is used in particular for heating halls, comprises a reflector with a reflector housing, in which an infrared radiation tube passes through a burner, in particular a gas burner or an oil burner, preferably outside the reflector housing is arranged, is charged with hot gas.
In this case, the burner is supplied with fresh air via an air supply opening, and the reflector housing has a preferably bell-shaped in cross section, with at least one sidewall extending laterally of the radiation tube, on the inner surface of which the infrared radiation emitted by the radiation tube, in a horizontal preferably in a hall Suspended reflector housing towards the Hall floor is reflected to heat objects located there by the infrared radiation.
According to the invention, in the region of its longitudinal edge extending along the radiation tube and simultaneously or alternatively the reflector housing in a central housing section arranged above the radiation tube, the side wall has at least one suction opening, which alternatively via an air suction channel, which preferably runs in the interior of the side wall as a separate line eg may be guided on the outside of the side wall, is in flow communication with the air supply opening of the burner. The air heated in the region of the inside of the reflector housing by the contact of the air molecules with the inner wall of the reflector housing reflecting the infrared radiation is sucked out through the suction opening and supplied to the burner as preheated air at a temperature of e.g. 150 ° C to 250 ° C supplied. Since the heat energy contained in the preheated air is not used for heating air in the upper part of a room or building but for heating the radiant tube, results from the inventive solution when using a predetermined amount of fuel which is supplied to the burner, an increase in Infrared component by 3% to 5%.
Another advantage of the infrared heater according to the invention is that the extraction of the heated air in the region of the longitudinal edges of the reflector housing does not lead to a cooling of the radiation tube and thus to an undesired reduction of the IR component.

In the preferred embodiment of the invention where the
In this case, it is of particular advantage with regard to a most laminar flow and a substantially homogeneous pressure curve within the

Each of the

In order to increase the efficiency even further, it may be provided that the one or more Luftabsaugkanäle 24a, 24b and preferably also the
It may also be advantageous in terms of optimum efficiency when the

As the Applicant has found, the use of
