Abstract
Es wird ein Verfahren und eine Vorrichtung zum Betrieb eines radargestützten Umfelderkennungssystems vorgeschlagen, bei dem von einem Standardmodus mit einer vorgegebenen Frequenzbandbreite in einen von zusätzlichen Kriterien anhängigen zeitlich begrenzten Hochauflösungsmodus mit einer erhöhten Frequenzbandbreite schaltbar ist. Die zusätzlichen Kriterien können bei einem radargestützten Umfelderkennungssystem an Fahrzeugen (1) insbesondere von kritischen Fahrsituation abhängig sein, die ein Unfallrisiko bergen oder bei denen eine Objekterkennung im Umfeld des Fahrzeugs nicht eindeutig durchführbar ist. A method and an apparatus for operating a radar-based environment detection system is proposed in which switching is possible from a standard mode having a predetermined frequency bandwidth to a time-limited, high-resolution mode having an increased frequency bandwidth and being dependent on additional criteria. In the case of a radar-supported environment detection system on vehicles (1), the additional criteria may be dependent, in particular, on critical driving situations which involve an accident risk or in which object recognition in the surroundings of the vehicle can not be carried out unequivocally.
