Definitions
- the present invention relates to a watch, in particular a wristwatch, with a chronograph movement and with at least one Chronographense H- and a Chronographenminuten Adjuster chronograph display organs, which are each connected via its own gear train and disengageable connected to a power source and a Regulierorgan of the movement.
- chronograph watches have been known for some time and in addition to the display of the current time of day by means of said chronograph display organs, the measurement and direct indication of the duration of a time interval, wherein the measurement is started or stopped by the on or off of the chronograph mechanism.
- the planned application the clock not only requires counting the duration of the time interval to be measured in the upward direction, but also counting a given time interval down to the beginning of a particular event, that is to operate in countdown mode.
- Such an application is particularly in the use of chronograph watches in sailing races, with such chronograph watches are referred to as so-called regatta watches.
- the chronograph mechanism of this timepiece has a chronograph minute hand, which rotates clockwise to indicate the upward-counting time interval, that is, in the chronograph mode, and rotates counterclockwise to indicate the time to be displayed in the downward direction, that is, in the countdown mode.
- the chronograph minute hand clearly separates whether it is in chronograph or countdown mode, this makes it more difficult, if not impossible, to make a liquid transition between these two modes that is more desirable in some situations.
- the display of the chronograph or countdown time proposed in this watch is in need of improvement in its readability.
- neither the regatta watch according to this application nor the one according to the aforementioned document are suitable for unambiguously indicating periods of time extending beyond one hour, although sailing races often extend over a relatively long period of time.
- Another concern of the present invention is to make the clock mechanism underlying this clock despite the additional countdown function in the simplest possible way.
- a concern of the present invention is in particular to improve the drive and the regulation of the chronograph display organs, in particular the countdown display.
- Another concern of the present invention is to realize the adjustability of the down-time to be counted by means of simple designed and arranged couplings.
- the control of the entire mechanism should be possible in the simplest possible way.
- the subject invention for this purpose is characterized in particular in that the chronograph minute hand can be driven clockwise in both a chronograph and in a countdown mode and its starting position in countdown mode counterclockwise in minute increments is adjustable.
- the clockwise movement of the chronograph minute hand can transition seamlessly from countdown to chronograph mode.
- the clock may be directly after the expiration of the countdown time displayed, and without manual intervention by the wearer for measurement in the upward direction, e.g. the race, go over.
- the said chronograph display organs of the watch can advantageously have a minute disc which has differently designed circular segments visible through windows in the dial of the watch, which can be switched on and off via its own gear train to the energy source and to the regulating member of the movement can be driven simultaneously with the chronograph minute hand.
- This dual display of minute countdown time information via the chronograph minute hand and the countdown minute disc noticeably increases the readability of the regatta watch, especially during the critical countdown phase prior to the start of the race, while for the subsequent phase of measurement of race duration the intuitive chronograph seconds, minutes display -, and possibly hour hand is used.
- the advantageously additionally present chronograph hour hand is especially useful in a regatta watch for measuring the duration of the sailing race.
- the Chronographense H- and the chronograph minute hand can by means of an oscillating drive respectively a friction clutch in the associated gear train with the Energy source on and disengageable connected, while this can be realized in the minute disc advantageously by means of a gear train located in the associated differential gear.
- both the simultaneous drive of the chronograph minute hand and the countdown minutes and the adjustability of these two display elements can be realized in a conceptually simple and technically robust manner.
- This also makes it possible to at least partially arrange the chronograph movement and in particular the parts necessary for the additional countdown function, which improves the structure of such a chronograph mechanism, facilitates its assembly, and allows to minimize the costs incurred in the production and later possibly necessary service cost comparatively.
- a variety of design variants can be realized inexpensively, without significantly changing the basic functions of the clock.
- the illustration 1 schematically and exemplifies the dial and the display elements of a regatta watch according to the present invention.
- FIG. 3 illustrates in a perspective view the principle of construction of a chronograph watch with integrated countdown function according to the present invention.
- FIG. 3a shows a countdown minute disc formed as a minute ring due to an inner date ring; the Figure 3b illustrates in plan view the parts of the movement necessary for driving and controlling the countdown minute disc; the Figure 3c gives in a perspective view with partial sectional view of the integrated gear train in the drive of the countdown minute disc differential in detail again.

- the Figure 5 shows in a plan view schematically and by way of example the adjustment mechanism for the countdown minutes.
- Figures 6a, 6b and 6c illustrate schematically the operation of the chronograph movement according to the present invention, in particular with regard to the control of its chronograph hands and its countdown minutes disc, while the chronograph is off, while the countdown is on, and during the reset or flyback;
- the Figure 6d shows in a perspective view of the column wheel and the sheulenradtaster in conjunction with a part of the chronograph rocker;
- Figures 6e and 6f, and 6g and 6h illustrate the interaction of the control mechanism of the clock with its adjustment mechanism with stopped - respectively switched on chronograph or countdown function.
- a chronograph watch according to the invention with an integrated countdown display, such a clock in particular being able to be designed as a wristwatch.
- a chronograph movement as well as chronograph display elements 1, which have at least a chronograph second 1.1 and a chronograph minute hand 1.2.
- the watch may also have a chronograph hour hand 1.3.
- Such a clock usually has also, especially if it is designed as Regattarmbanduhr over Time of day display organs 2, so a seconds 2.1, a 2.2 minutes, and an hour hand 2.3.
- the chronograph minute hand 1.2 and the chronograph hour hand 1.3 in a first, eccentrically located in a main dial 3 of the clock sub-dial 1.4 can be arranged while the chronograph second hand 1.1 chronograph display organs 1 centrally in the main dial 3 located.
- the time of day display organs 2 can be arranged in a second, eccentrically located in the main dial 3 of the clock sub-dial 2.4 in an advantageous manner.
- the main dial 3 of the clock according to the invention further comprises at least one window 3.1 through which differently shaped circle segments of a rotatably mounted under the main dial Countdown minutes 1.5 are visible.
- the first eccentric sub-dial 1.4 is positioned between the center of the main dial 3 on which the chronograph second hand 1.1 is located and the twelve o'clock position the main dial 3, this sub-dial 1.4 being the analogue countdown or chronograph time display is used.
- the second eccentric sub-dial 2.4 serving the time of day display is in this case positioned between the center of the main digit 3 and the six o'clock position of this dial.
- the space vacated at the three o'clock and nine o'clock positions of the main digit sheet 3 is preferably used by two series of windows 3.1 mounted appreciably on the outer edge of the main digit sheet 3 in two opposing circular arc segments. Due to a usual maximum countdown time of ten minutes in sailing races, in particular a series of five windows 3.1 on the left and right side of the main digit sheet 3 is advantageous.
- the differently shaped circle segments of the minute disc 1.5 rotating in the countdown mode of the watch are visible through these windows 3.1, thus allowing, in addition to the analogue display of the countdown time via the chronograph minute hand, also a graphical representation of the minute information of the countdown.
- the diameter of the minute disc 1.5 noticeably corresponds to the diameter of the main dial 3 of the clock, so that within the circumference of arranged in circular arc segments window 3.1 a further breakthrough 3.2 can be provided in the main dial 3, through which in a known manner the Date can be displayed.
- an arrangement of the date window 3.2 outside the scope of arranged in circular arc segments window 3.1 and on the same horizontal plane with these is conceivable.
- the regatta watch according to the invention also has corresponding controls 4, which in particular from a start-stop pusher 4.1, a reset or flyback pushers 4.2, a 4.3 setting lever for setting the countdown time of the chronograph minute hand and the countdown minute, as well as an ordinary Crown 4.4 may be used to set the time shown in sub-dial 2, for example, and possibly the date displayed in window 3.2.
- controls 4 which in particular from a start-stop pusher 4.1, a reset or flyback pushers 4.2, a 4.3 setting lever for setting the countdown time of the chronograph minute hand and the countdown minute, as well as an ordinary Crown 4.4 may be used to set the time shown in sub-dial 2, for example, and possibly the date displayed in window 3.2.
- a special feature of the chronograph watch according to the invention with additional countdown display is that the Chrongraphense H- 1.1 and the Chronographenminuten Adjuster 1.2 each via its own gear, hereinafter also referred to as gear train 6.1, 6.2, on and disengageable with an energy source 5 and with a Regulierorgan not shown Clockwork are connected, as shown schematically and by way of example in the Figure 2 is illustrated.
- the chronograph minute hand 1.2 is drivable clockwise in both a chronograph and in a countdown mode and its initial position in countdown mode in the counterclockwise direction, preferably in minute steps, adjustable.
- the chronograph movement according to the invention has for this purpose serving as a mechanical energy source 5 spiral spring, which is housed as usual in a equipped with a barrel drum 5.1 barrel.
- an electronic energy source 5 could be chosen in addition to other equivalent mechanical energy sources.
- Starting from the power source 5 is in a well-known to those skilled in the art via a first gear 6.1 the sixth wheel 6.1.1 driven, said second wheel at the same time in the Figure 2 not reproduced regulatory organ of the movement, which could consist for example of a conventional anchor escapement, cooperates.
- the chronograph center wheel with the chronograph second hand 1.1 in the preferred embodiment is in the center of the watch, but this need not necessarily be the case.
- the preferred implementation of the coupling by means of an oscillating drive is one of several, technically conceivable embodiments, which are not to be further described, insofar as previously known.
- this minute counter drive 6.2.2 and an overlying minute counter wheel 6.2.3 is located in a previously known manner, for example, a function clutch, which allows the chronograph minute hand 1.2 and optionally the chronograph hour counter 1.3 simultaneously with the chronograph seconds counter 1.1 set in motion or stop by the said oscillatory drive 6.1.2 and in the Figure 2 Not shown functional coupling simultaneously engaged or disengaged.
- Above the minute counter 6.2.3 is a particular in the Figure 4c visible technically concerned 6.2.4, which in turn drives the hour wheel and the other associated wheels of a possibly existing Chronographenexze 1.3. The latter is not shown in the figures and will not be explained further, insofar as also previously known.
- the energy source 5 of the mechanism according to the invention in its preferred embodiment, parallel to the first gear train 6.1 and the second gear train 6.2 drives a third gear train 6.3, which can forward the drive energy to Countdown minutes 1.5.
- this third gear 6.3 has a differential gear 6.3.1, whose drive in the case of in Figure 2 shown mechanical energy source 5 engages directly with the barrel drum 5.1 of the barrel and which transmits the drive energy depending on the coupling state of the differential gear via two associated intermediate wheels 6.3.2, 6.3.3 with appropriate translation to a countdown minute 1.5.4.
- This countdown minute ring 1.5.4 carries the in the Figure 2 not shown Countdown minutes 1.5 and has an internal toothing double height, at one level, for example, the lowest as in the Figure 3c shown, the intermediate wheel engages 6.3.3.
- the internal teeth of the countdown minute ring 1.5.4 is not fully developed at this level, such that the drive of the countdown minutes 1.5 after the maximum settable countdown time, for example ten minutes, no longer takes place, even if the Differential gear 6.3.1 remains coupled and therefore the intermediate wheel 6.3.3 continues to rotate.
- the gear trains 6.1, 6.2, 6.3 of course, alternatively to the preferred embodiment shown above, realized in other functionally equivalent manner, for example, directly coupled to the second wheel 6.1.1, could be.
- the chronograph movement according to the invention can, in contrast to previously known chronograph movements continue, as well as from Figure 2 can be seen, an auxiliary power source 7, through which said minute wheel 1.5 is additionally driven, and a torque regulating element 11, these two elements will be explained in more detail later.
- the Countdown minutes 1.5 is configured despite the selected to distinguish the above name usually as a ring, especially when the Regattuhr invention, as in the Figure 3a shown, also includes a date display and should therefore have an inner date ring.
- serving as countdown minutes 1.5 ring differently shaped, circular arc segments 1.5.1, 1.5.2, 1.5.3, which are visible in the countdown mode by the rotation of Countdown minutes 1.5 through the windows 3.1 of the main digit 3.
- the minute disc 1.5 initially on a first circle segment 1.5.1, which extends over an angular range of 120 degrees and, for example, may be colored blue.
- a third circle segment 1.5.2 which extends over an angular range of 60 degrees and, for example, may be colored red
- the color and designerische design of the circle segments is of course arbitrary, but includes in the case of a regatta preferably the aforementioned reds and blues, insofar as in a sailing race usually different phases of the countdown are announced before the start of the race with blue or red flags and thus the Countdown display 1.5 of the clock according to the invention can be optically better adapted to the circumstances.
- the differential gear 6.3.1 a 6.3.1.0 drive which is at least in the case of a mechanical energy source 5 with a helical spring, a barrel and a barrel drum 5.1 directly engaged with this.
- the drive 6.3.1.0 in turn carries an axle which is firmly connected to a sun gear 6.3.1.1.
- a planetary wheel 6.3.1.2 Directly next to said sun gear, a planetary wheel 6.3.1.2, freely rotatable about said axis, is arranged, which in the present case carries, for example, three satellites 6.3.1.3, which are in engagement with the said sun gear 6.3.1.1.
- a ring gear 6.3.1.4 preferably of the same diameter is arranged such that the internal toothing is in engagement with the aforementioned satellites.
- the external toothing of the ring gear 6.3.1.4 is again in engagement with a first minute wheel intermediate wheel 6.3.2, which in turn drives the drive of a second minute wheel intermediate wheel 6.3.3 under suitable transmission.
- the latter intermediate wheel 6.3.3 is arranged so that it is at a level, for example, as in the Figure 3c shown on the bottom, can engage in the internal teeth of the Countdown minutes 1.5 1.5 ring 1.5.4, said teeth, as already mentioned, not formed on the entire inner circumference of the ring 1.5.4 to the termination of the drive of the minute disc 1.5 am End of the countdown time, that is, when reaching the zero position of the minute disc 1.5, ensure in any case.
- both the ring gear 6.3.1.4 which outputs the drive energy from the differential gear 6.3.1, as well as the planet 6.3.1.2 be blocked by arranged at a corresponding height blocking lever against its rotation.
- this causes due to the continuous rotation of the sun gear 6.3.1.1 because of its continuous drive by the power source 5, the planetary 6.3.1.2 freely rotates about the axis of the drive 6.3.1.0 without the drive energy to the countdown minutes 1.5 are passed would.
- the chronograph watch according to the invention with additional countdown function in a preferred embodiment additionally has an auxiliary power source 7 which can provide the countdown minute disk 1.5 additional energy to drive it, in particular during the provision of the disk 1.5, wherein the control continues via the Regulierorgan of the movement.
- the power is supplied to the auxiliary power source 7 via the pusher 4.3, the setting mechanism 8, 9 explained in more detail below, and the ring 1.5.4.
- auxiliary power source 7 can, as shown schematically in the plan view of FIG. 3b indicated, in the form of another mechanical energy source be implemented by a spiral spring embedded in a barrel.
- Its drum barrel 7.1 is located either in direct engagement with the internal teeth of the Countdown minutes 1.5 supporting ring 1.5.4 or engaged with an intermediate 7.2, which is in this case with the ring 1.5.4 in engagement and which may be necessary Torque reduction can realize.
- the torque of the additional spring in its relaxed position can be adjusted by the watchmaker, for example, by means of an adjusting drive 7.3 and an associated pawl 7.4.
- a mechanical auxiliary power source in the form of a helical spring in a barrel any equivalent mechanical or electronic energy source can be selected as auxiliary power source 7.
- this also has a torque regulating element 11, which is advantageously movably mounted on the reset slide 10.2 coupled to the reset pusher 4.2 for the purpose of its engagement or disengagement.
- the torque regulating element 11 consists of a friction wheel 11.1, which, like the above-mentioned intermediate 7.2 of the auxiliary power source 7 with that level of the internal teeth of the ring 1.5.4, which is formed continuously on the inner circumference, is engaged, an adjusting screw 11.2, and a flat spring 11.3.
- a friction wheel 11.1 which, like the above-mentioned intermediate 7.2 of the auxiliary power source 7 with that level of the internal teeth of the ring 1.5.4, which is formed continuously on the inner circumference, is engaged, an adjusting screw 11.2, and a flat spring 11.3.
- the rotation of the friction wheel 11.1 is made difficult or easier, which in turn limited by its engagement with the internal teeth of the ring 1.5.4 which may be transmitted from the auxiliary power source 7 via the gear train 6.3 to the power source 5 torque.
- the clock according to the invention has a setting slide 8.1, which is coupled to the setting push-button 4.3 and is mounted displaceably.
- the slide 8.1 is normally held by a retaining spring standing under force 8.2, which engages with one end laterally in a groove of the slide 8.1, in its rest position.
- a sufficiently high pressure on the pusher 4.3 causes the release of the slide 8.1 from its rest position, whereby this slider 8.1 presses on a pivotally mounted, also called rocker control finger 8.3 and causes its slight rotation.
- the chronograph minute adjusting wheel 6.2.5 is fixed in its position during a first phase of pressing on the setting lever 4.3. This is necessary in order to allow its setting in minute increments despite the otherwise continuous drive of the chronograph minute hand 1.2.
- a pivotally mounted on the control finger 8.3 Einstellfinger 8.3.2 in the outer teeth of the Chronographenminuteneinstellrads 6.2.5 Just like this in an enlarged section in the FIG.
- the Chronographenminutenseinstellrad 6.2.5 is driven by the force of the located at the other end of the detent 8.4 8.4.1 spring in its detent position as soon as its tip has passed the tip of the said, subsequent tooth on the dial 6.2.5 , whereby the chronograph minute setting wheel 6.2.5 and with this the chronograph minute hand 1.2 at each complete Pressing the setting handle 4.3 by an angle range A, which is 6 degrees in the example shown, is rotated.
- This example of said angular ranges A, B, C corresponds to a setting of the chronograph minute hand 1.2 in one minute increments.
- FIGS. 4a and 4b the interaction between the setting finger 8.3.2 and the chronograph minute setting wheel 6.2.5 can be finely adjusted via an eccentric screw 8.5.
- the interaction between the notch 8.4 and the chronograph minute setting wheel 6.2.5 is shown in FIGS. 4a and 4b in various positions of the notch 8.4 showing plan views and in the Figure 4c shown in a perspective view.
- the adjusting means 8.1, 8.2, 8.3, 8.4 it would be possible to design the adjusting means 8.1, 8.2, 8.3, 8.4 in detail differently, while their basic operation would remain identical.
- adjustment may also be made in units of time other than minutes, such as short countdowns in 10 second or 30 second increments, or long hour countdowns, which may in turn be hourly increments
- Modification of the setting wheel 6.2.5 as well as by appropriate adaptations of the other cooperating mechanisms can be achieved.
- the inclusion of a possibly present hour hand in the display of the set countdown time is automatically given by the coupling of the train of chronograph minute and chronograph hour hand in the proposed preferred embodiment.
- Other alternative embodiments of the adjustment mechanism 8 should not be set forth here for reasons of space here.
- the chronograph minute hand 1.2 which is not adjustable in a conventional chronograph movement, by means of the adjustment mechanism 8, which acts on the Chronographenminuten. 6.2.5, and on the mentioned friction clutch, the between the minute counter drive 6.2.2 and the minute counter 6.2.3 of the gear train 6.2 is, in minute steps or in steps of another, predefined time unit is adjustable. Therefore, if the clock according to the invention not only to a measurement of an interval of time in the upward direction, that is used in chronograph mode, so the chronograph minute hand 1.2 on the setting lever 4.3 from its zero position, which normally corresponds to the twelve o'clock position in the main dial 3, in Turn counterclockwise in one-minute increments. Each pressing of the setting lever 4.3 causes an adjustment of the chronograph minute hand 1.2 preferably counterclockwise by one minute, so that a predetermined countdown time to be counted in the downward direction can be easily set.
- the already mentioned adjusting slide 8.1 has for this purpose a hook 8.1.1.1, which is fixedly attached to the slider 8.1, as a part is formed with this, or, as explained later in detail, on a on adjusting slide 8.1 mobile arranged additional slide 8.1.1 is attached.
- the hook engages 8.1.1.1 in a minutes Scheibeneinstellrad 9.2 and turns it to a tooth on.
- Scheibeneinstellrad 9.2 is again in engagement with that level of the internal teeth of the ring 1.5.4, which is formed continuously on the inner circumference of this ring, for example, the upper level, as in the Figure 3c is shown. This ensures the adjustability of the countdown minute disk 1.5 in each of its positions.
- the area of a window 3.1 in the main dial 3 covers an angular range of 12 degrees, wherein the visible through the effective window opening portion of the disc 1.5 is correspondingly slightly smaller.
- One minute in the countdown mode of the preferred embodiment of the regatta watch according to the invention is therefore represented by a circular arc segment having an angular width of 12 degrees of the countdown minute disc, for which reason the minute wheel adjusting wheel 9.2 of this preferred embodiment, as on FIG. 5 shown, has five teeth.
- the Scheibeneinstell wool 9.1 has a corresponding translation to rotate the Countdown minutes disc 1.5 over an angular range of 12 degrees, that is one minute, clockwise in this embodiment with each actuation of the setting 4.3, as in the Figure 5 symbolically indicated by arrows.
- auxiliary power source 7 in connection with the FIG. 5 can also explain the operation of a possibly existing auxiliary power source 7 easy to understand.
- a mechanical auxiliary power source 7 in the form of a helical spring this spring is in its relaxed position when the Countdown minutes 1.5 in their rest position, that is, when the chronograph minute hand 1.2 is at the twelve o'clock and thus in its zero position , As already mentioned, the relaxed position of the spring can be finely adjusted by the watchmaker via the wheel 7.3.
- a setting of a countdown time to be counted downwards in increments of one minute via the setting lever 4.3 causes the tension of said ring by the engagement of the intermediate wheel 7.2 or the direct engagement of the barrel drum 7.1 of the barrel of the spring functioning as an additional energy source in the internal teeth of the ring 1.5.4 Spring, ie, as mentioned above, a supply of energy to this spring.
- the countdown minutes disc 1.5 is held by an engaging in the differential gear 6.3.1 blocking lever in the once set position, which corresponds to the desired countdown time.
- the spring of the auxiliary power source 7 can discharge and thereby drives the Countdown minutes 1.5 automatically up to their zero position, at which point the drive is exhausted by the auxiliary power source 7, insofar as the corresponding spring is then discharged again.
- the drive of the minute disc 1.5 ends by the main energy source 5, insofar as the corresponding internal toothing of the ring 1.5.4 carrying the disc ceases at this point, as explained above.
- the release of the above-mentioned blocking lever is effected either during normal countdown operation via the pusher 4.1 or upon a reset of the countdown minute disk 1.5 via the pusher 4.2, but will be described in detail later; Both causes the discharge of the spring of the auxiliary power source. 7
- the clock has a start-stop pusher 4.1 and a reset / flyback pusher 4.2, which can act on a corresponding start-stop pusher 10.1 and a reset slide 10.2 to move them.
- these slides 10.1, 10.2 can, upon appropriate translation, act on a unit arranged on two levels, the chronograph rocker 10.3, which, in the case of the timepiece according to the invention, has five arms 10.3.1, 10.3.2, 10.3.3, 10.3.4, 10.3.5, such as in the Figure 6a exemplified.
- the associated chronograph second hand 1.1, the chronograph minute hand 1.2, and the possibly present chronograph hour hand 1.3 in this mode function in a completely analogous manner to the normal chronograph mode, but with the important Difference that the chronograph minute hand 1.2 is in this case in a counterclockwise deflected starting position, so as detailed above.
- this starting position of the chronograph minute hand 1.2 can be set in the countdown mode in minute steps of -1 minute to -10 minutes relative to the zero position.
- pressing the reset / flyback pusher 4.2 in the usual manner resets the hands 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 to the zero position, so that the wearer of the clock, if he wants to perform a countdown again, the countdown time in this case again can adjust.
- the chronograph rocker 10.3 either becomes, as in the Figure 6a shown held by the raised sheulenradtaster through the first end of the first arm 10.3.1, or, as in the Figure 6b is released from the lowered column wheel button and can continue to turn clockwise.
- the chronograph rocker 10.3 can be turned clockwise into the in of the Figure 6b
- both the chronograph hands 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 and the countdown minute disk 1.5 rotate in order to count the preset countdown interval in the downward direction.
- the chronograph rocker 10.3 of the start lever 10.3.3 in the planet 6.3.1.2 of the differential gear 6.3.1 engages in this position of the chronograph rocker 10.3 of the start lever 10.3.3 in the planet 6.3.1.2 of the differential gear 6.3.1 and blocks it against its rotation.
- the fourth arm 10.3.4 of the chronograph rocker in contrast to acting as a start lever third arm 10.3.3 of the chronograph rocker is not designed as a rigid arm, but as a pivotally mounted, spring-loaded latch arm.
- the tip as a pawl allows an engagement of this stop lever 10.3.4 in the ring gear 6.3.1.4 a block with respect to its rotation counterclockwise, while this ring gear 6.3.1.4 continue to engage even with this stop lever in a clockwise direction remains rotatable, as is necessary for the explained above in detail adjustability of the countdown minutes 1.5.
- the number of teeth of the ring gear 6.3.1.4 especially on the outer teeth and the gear ratio and the numbers of teeth of the intermediate wheels 6.3.2 and 6.3.3 are therefore chosen to each time setting the Countdown minutes 1.5 in minute increments a further rotation of the ring gear 6.3.1.4 by one full number of teeth, for example, to cause two teeth, which thereby at the same time allows a very accurate indexing of the minute disc 1.5.
- control mechanism preferably also with the above with particular reference to the figures 4a to 4c and 5 described adjustment mechanism can cooperate.
- This serves the purpose of being able to make the setting of the countdown time only when the chronograph is turned off, while, for example, an unintentional actuation of the setting handle 4.3 has no consequence when the chronograph or countdown measurement is running.
- a preferred relative position between the adjusting slide and the auxiliary slide 8.1.1 can be defined as by spring action, which allows a deflection from this preferred position when a certain force is exceeded, but the two parts returns to their preferred relative position as soon as the predefined force falls below again .
- the additional slide 8.1.1 has a further pin 8.1.1.2, which in this case acts on the control finger 8.3, instead of doing so as in the case of one embodiment without the auxiliary slide 8.1.1 directly through the adjusting slide 8.1.
- this preferred embodiment also has the second arm 10.3.2 of the chronograph rocker 10.3 on the control finger 8.3 end facing a retaining lug 10.3.2.1.
- the control finger 8.3 in turn has in this embodiment, as in Figure 6e shown, a corresponding blocking groove 8.3.3, which can cooperate with said retaining lug 10.3.2.1 to block the control finger 8.3 against its deflection.
- the chronograph rocker 10.3 is in its starting position so that the chronograph mechanism is running, ie either a countdown timer or a time measurement is in progress.
- the adjusting lever 4.3 and the adjusting slide 8.1 are in the Figure 6g in their resting position.
- This mechanism can generally be arranged between a pusher and a lever which controls a certain first function, depending on the state of the clock with respect to a second function, that of another part of the clock, as here the start-stop pusher , is controlled to press the said lever and with it the corresponding first function of the clock or not.
- control means 10 it is also in the case of the particular in the Figure 5 shown control means 10 to replace them with functionally equivalent, but in detail differently designed means, without departing from the scope of the present invention.
- the said time of day display organs 2 are finally driven in a conventional manner, which will not be discussed further here.
- a chronograph watch with additional countdown function therefore permits an intuitively and optimally readable display of both a countdown and a time span to be measured in the upward direction due to the use of a chronograph minute hand 1.2 that can be driven both in the chronograph and in a countdown mode and, in particular, in minute steps , Readability is further increased in the preferred embodiment of the watch by the use of a synchronously adjustable and drivable countdown minute disk.
- the use of separate gear trains with each own clutches, in particular the use of a differential gear allows a technically robust and as far as possible modular solution for the realization of such a chronograph watch. This brings in the consequence a simplification of the assembly as well as possibly later necessary service work of the clock with itself. Such a clock can serve in particular as a regatta clock.

Description
The present invention relates to a watch, in particular a wristwatch, with a chronograph movement and with at least one Chronographensekunden- and a Chronographenminutenzeiger chronograph display organs, which are each connected via its own gear train and disengageable connected to a power source and a Regulierorgan of the movement.
Such chronograph watches have been known for some time and in addition to the display of the current time of day by means of said chronograph display organs, the measurement and direct indication of the duration of a time interval, wherein the measurement is started or stopped by the on or off of the chronograph mechanism.
It is therefore an object of the present invention to overcome the inconveniences and difficulties encountered in the prior art timepieces, and to realize a timepiece of the type mentioned above, which provides the representation of both an up-time and an out-count time interval Time interval in clearly readable manner allowed. In particular, the readability of the minute information that is particularly important for regatta watches should be improved in this context.
Another concern of the present invention is to make the clock mechanism underlying this clock despite the additional countdown function in the simplest possible way.
In this context, a concern of the present invention is in particular to improve the drive and the regulation of the chronograph display organs, in particular the countdown display. Another concern of the present invention is to realize the adjustability of the down-time to be counted by means of simple designed and arranged couplings. In addition, the control of the entire mechanism should be possible in the simplest possible way.
These objects are achieved by the teaching of
This has the advantage that the display of both an up-time to be measured time as well as a down-to-count, predetermined time interval in a simple and highly readable manner. In this case, moreover, not only in the case of a sailing race, the clock may be directly after the expiration of the countdown time displayed, and without manual intervention by the wearer for measurement in the upward direction, e.g. the race, go over.
Furthermore, the said chronograph display organs of the watch can advantageously have a minute disc which has differently designed circular segments visible through windows in the dial of the watch, which can be switched on and off via its own gear train to the energy source and to the regulating member of the movement can be driven simultaneously with the chronograph minute hand.
This dual display of minute countdown time information via the chronograph minute hand and the countdown minute disc noticeably increases the readability of the regatta watch, especially during the critical countdown phase prior to the start of the race, while for the subsequent phase of measurement of race duration the intuitive chronograph seconds, minutes display -, and possibly hour hand is used. The advantageously additionally present chronograph hour hand is especially useful in a regatta watch for measuring the duration of the sailing race.
The Chronographensekunden- and the chronograph minute hand can by means of an oscillating drive respectively a friction clutch in the associated gear train with the Energy source on and disengageable connected, while this can be realized in the minute disc advantageously by means of a gear train located in the associated differential gear.
By these measures, both the simultaneous drive of the chronograph minute hand and the countdown minutes and the adjustability of these two display elements can be realized in a conceptually simple and technically robust manner. This also makes it possible to at least partially arrange the chronograph movement and in particular the parts necessary for the additional countdown function, which improves the structure of such a chronograph mechanism, facilitates its assembly, and allows to minimize the costs incurred in the production and later possibly necessary service cost comparatively. In addition, due to such an arrangement of modularly designed functional units by exchanging, omitting, supplementing, etc. a variety of design variants can be realized inexpensively, without significantly changing the basic functions of the clock.
Further features of a chronograph watch according to the present invention, as well as the advantages resulting therefrom, can be seen in the description given in the dependent claims and in the following description of the invention with the aid of the drawings.

The regatta watch according to the invention also has

While the above-described first and second gear trains 6.1 and 6.2 will not be discussed in more detail below, the drive and the control of the countdown minute disk 1.5 will now be explained in detail with reference to FIGS. 3b and 3c.

As will be explained in more detail later, both the ring gear 6.3.1.4, which outputs the drive energy from the differential gear 6.3.1, as well as the planet 6.3.1.2 be blocked by arranged at a corresponding height blocking lever against its rotation. In the former case this causes due to the continuous rotation of the sun gear 6.3.1.1 because of its continuous drive by the

Overall, it is possible by the above detailed arrangements in the chronograph movement according to the invention, that the chronograph minute hand 1.2, which is not adjustable in a conventional chronograph movement, by means of the

With regard to the operation of the chronograph mode of the clock, it should only be mentioned that this works in a completely analogous manner as in known chronograph movements and should therefore not be explained in detail.
As regards the operation of the chronograph movement according to the invention with additional countdown function in countdown mode, it should first be noted that the associated chronograph second hand 1.1, the chronograph minute hand 1.2, and the possibly present chronograph hour hand 1.3 in this mode function in a completely analogous manner to the normal chronograph mode, but with the important Difference that the chronograph minute hand 1.2 is in this case in a counterclockwise deflected starting position, so as detailed above. In the preferred embodiment of the movement according to the invention, this starting position of the chronograph minute hand 1.2 can be set in the countdown mode in minute steps of -1 minute to -10 minutes relative to the zero position. Furthermore, pressing the reset / flyback pusher 4.2 in the usual manner resets the hands 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 to the zero position, so that the wearer of the clock, if he wants to perform a countdown again, the countdown time in this case again can adjust.
At this point it should be mentioned that the fourth arm 10.3.4 of the chronograph rocker, so the stop lever, in contrast to acting as a start lever third arm 10.3.3 of the chronograph rocker is not designed as a rigid arm, but as a pivotally mounted, spring-loaded latch arm. As a result, and by the appropriate training the tip as a pawl allows an engagement of this stop lever 10.3.4 in the ring gear 6.3.1.4 a block with respect to its rotation counterclockwise, while this ring gear 6.3.1.4 continue to engage even with this stop lever in a clockwise direction remains rotatable, as is necessary for the explained above in detail adjustability of the countdown minutes 1.5. The number of teeth of the ring gear 6.3.1.4 especially on the outer teeth and the gear ratio and the numbers of teeth of the intermediate wheels 6.3.2 and 6.3.3 are therefore chosen to each time setting the Countdown minutes 1.5 in minute increments a further rotation of the ring gear 6.3.1.4 by one full number of teeth, for example, to cause two teeth, which thereby at the same time allows a very accurate indexing of the minute disc 1.5.
In connection with this description of the control of the clock according to the invention is also to be mentioned that the control mechanism preferably also with the above with particular reference to the figures 4a to 4c and 5 described adjustment mechanism can cooperate. This serves the purpose of being able to make the setting of the countdown time only when the chronograph is turned off, while, for example, an unintentional actuation of the setting handle 4.3 has no consequence when the chronograph or countdown measurement is running.

From the above description it is therefore clear that the chronograph hands 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 and the countdown minute disk 1.5 are synchronized in each phase of the operation of the movement according to the invention in the countdown mode. In the adjustment phase, this synchronization is carried out as explained by the
A chronograph watch with additional countdown function according to the invention therefore permits an intuitively and optimally readable display of both a countdown and a time span to be measured in the upward direction due to the use of a chronograph minute hand 1.2 that can be driven both in the chronograph and in a countdown mode and, in particular, in minute steps , Readability is further increased in the preferred embodiment of the watch by the use of a synchronously adjustable and drivable countdown minute disk. The use of separate gear trains with each own clutches, in particular the use of a differential gear, allows a technically robust and as far as possible modular solution for the realization of such a chronograph watch. This brings in the consequence a simplification of the assembly as well as possibly later necessary service work of the clock with itself. Such a clock can serve in particular as a regatta clock.
