Description

The invention relates to a cushioning device for use as a transport protection for tradable goods, which is formed by folding from a particular corrugated cardboard, flat blank having a sequence of cushioning elements and in the pre-stamped fold lines between a first side part and a second side part, a cover part and define a bottom part of the respective upholstery element, wherein in each case at least one of the fold lines on the cover part and bottom part has a curvature of the adjacent side part causing an arcuately curved course.

In order to protect cargo against damage and damage caused by external forces that occur in the course of transport operations, for example in the form of impact forces in case of improper handling during loading or unloading operations, protective container diverse designs are in use. For goods in the form of relatively small volume cargo containers are often used in box-like or box-like construction. This procedure is costly insofar as to be provided to the type of goods respectively adapted transport container, for example, for packaging units with a corresponding number of bottle or can-like liquid containers or the like. At a corresponding transport protection forming Packaging, the goods must also be taken out of the transport boxes or boxes usually in order to offer them for sale, so that a corresponding workload for unpacking is incurred.

From the US 2,804,202 has become known as a transport protection for the slide frame or the like folding box. A strip-like, flat blank is divided by folding lines into similar parts and has openings for receiving a slide frame or the like in every other part. Along the fold lines of the blank to the transport box is folded together, the parts of the blank are successively placed flat on each other and thus form a transport protection for the recorded in the openings slide frame.

The US 1,989,794 discloses a particular on edges of pieces of furniture can be applied, strip-shaped transport protection. The transport protection consists of several successively applied layers of a blank, which is folded along a fold line for abutment against an edge of a piece of furniture. The layers are joined together by folded over at the outer edges of the blank and fixed to the inner layer edge portions of the wider outer layer and folded at a along the center line of the multilayer blank fold line to a transport protection. Like in the US 1,989,794 shown, the transport protection can be rolled up when not in use.

A cushioning device of the type described above is made DE 20 2006 007 031 U1 known. Known is a packaging pad, in particular for filling cavities in outer packaging, consisting of paper and / or paperboard material, in particular corrugated cardboard, with at least one produced by folding and / or rolling a raw material and in cross-section substantially lenticular cavity, wherein the Packaging pad has a plurality of lenticular cavities, which are connected to each other on a narrow side of the lens mold. The packaging pad is provided with at least one embossment along which the raw material is folded to form the lenticular cavities of the packaging pad, the embossing forming two spaced-apart chains of lined lenticular sub-profiles. Here, the embossing is designed to extend parallel to a longitudinal axis of the packaging pad.

In view of the prior art, the invention has the object to provide a cushioning device by means of which a universally usable transport protection for goods of various types can be realized in a simple and efficient manner and good shock absorption is achieved in a simple design.

According to the invention this object is achieved by a padding device having the features of claim 1 in its entirety.

Thereafter, a significant feature of the invention is that upholstery elements which are connected to each other at connecting lines, form a series arrangement, from the row arrangement upholstery structures of different configuration can be formed that the row assembly is folded at desired connecting lines or that desired lengths of contiguous cushion elements by sectioning separation be formed on connecting lines or that individual padding elements are separated.

Corresponding rows of upholstery elements and / or individual elements can be arranged on outer sides of the goods, for example, on a pallet-like support, wherein the rows of elements can be used by folding on connecting lines and corner. For the Transport adapted boxes or boxes can be omitted if a cohesion-forming layer is performed on the outside of the goods adjacent element rows, for example in the form of a shrink film. Therefore, it is not necessary to unpack boxes or boxes for the presentation of the goods for sale, but merely to remove the outer foil and the upholstery element rows to present the goods for access by the customer.

For the formation of the series arrangement of mutually contiguous padding elements according to the invention a sequence of padding elements separated by perforation lines from each other, extending in parallel between two opposite edges of the blank at a distance from each other and form the connecting lines, by means of which by folding and / or separating padding different configuration can be formed. These connecting lines form between contiguous padding elements on the one hand bending lines at which side parts adjoin one another with different curvature sense, and form as perforation lines and separation points for separating desired lengths of the array of padding elements, for example by tearing.

Preferably, the blank formed of corrugated cardboard has an open shaft on the side which forms the outside of the folded padding element. The open wave surface is not too smooth, so that cushion elements have a better fit to the goods in question.

In the case of the upholstery device, at least one of the fold lines on the cover part and the bottom part of the respective upholstery element has an arcuately curved course which brings about a curvature of the adjoining side part. Due to the curvature of at least one side part opposite the other side part a cushion-like pad is formed, which acts as a shock absorber by the resilience of the curvature. The preferred use of open corrugated board allows for the production of particularly supple upholstery, but other foldable materials can also be used.

In particularly advantageous embodiments, both fold lines both on the cover part and on the bottom part of at least one cushion element each have an arcuately curved course, in particular a mutually convex curvature on. As a result, both side parts are bulged away from each other, so that a lenticular cushion cushion is formed, which forms a viable damper with the curved away from each other surfaces even at higher, especially shock loads.

The blank may be designed such that a first side part of at least one cushion element forms the respective curved first edge of the blank with its end adjoining the respective bottom part, so that the blank thus forms the curvature corresponding to the curvature of the side part at the edge.

In this case, the blank can preferably be designed so that at least one upholstery element between the respective curved first edge opposite, respective straight second edge of the blank and the bottom part is a stiffening strip by folding on the adjacent fold line of the respective bottom part to the inside of the respective first side part can be applied. In order to stabilize the formed by folding lens-like pad shape may be provided between the reinforcing strip and the inside of the side part of a splice.

In preferred exemplary embodiments, in the case of at least one upholstery element, the blank has at its respective curved first edge a protruding tab which forms an attachment of the respective first side part. Instead of a splice located between reinforcing strip and side part, the at least one protruding tab can serve as a plug element for stabilizing the folded pad element by the at least one tab for fixing the respective first side part on the respective bottom part in a cut between the latter and the reinforcing strip in the blank slot is pluggable.

  • Fig. 1 shows an embodiment of the cushioning device according to the invention, which is formed only on two side regions of a goods package from a large circular cylindrical containers 2, of which in the Fig. Only a few are quantified. The containers 2 are arranged upright on a pallet-like, rectangular support 4. In the presentation of Fig. 1 is the cushioning device serving as a transport protection already partially removed, so that the series arrangement of mutually contiguous padding elements 6 is created only on two side portions of the goods container from containers 2. After removing the row arrangement of the cushioning elements 6, the containers 2, when presented on the support 4 in a sales room, are freely accessible to the customer.
  • Fig. 2 clarifies one opposite Fig. 1 more complete arrangement of the transport protection with multiple rows of upholstery elements 6. While in Fig. 1 only at a corner region 8 of the goods package, the row arrangement is guided over the corner, is in Fig. 2 clarifies how Rows of elements 6 are also guided at the edges at the top of the container 2 by folding at their connecting lines 10 at the corner, so that cushioning elements 6 are located both on the sides and the top of the goods.

The Fig. 3 shows in plan view a longitudinal section of a designated as a whole with 12, flat blank, wherein a longitudinal section to form four over the connecting lines 10 related padding elements 6 is shown. In the present example, the blank 12 is formed of corrugated cardboard, wherein the in Fig. 3 visible top is smooth while leaning on the in Fig. 3 invisible underside is the open wave of the corrugated board, as is indicated by a cutout 14 in the smooth cover sheet of corrugated board. In order to form the body shape of the upholstery elements 6 by folding operations, embossed fold lines 16 each define a cover part 18. As can be seen, the fold lines 16 are convexly curved relative to one another such that the respective cover part 18 has an elliptical shape. The lid part 18 is adjoined by a first side part 20 and a second side part 22. At the end remote from the cover part 18 of the second side part 22 in turn follows a bottom part 24 which corresponds in shape to the lid part 18 and as this is defined by embossed fold lines 26 which are curved in correspondence to the fold lines 16 to each other convex. When folding the side parts 20 and 22 at the fold lines 16 and 26, therefore, results for the side panels 20 and 22, a curvature through which the respective cushion member 6 assumes a lenticular shape pillow, as shown most clearly from the representation of Fig. 2 you can see. The folding process takes place in such a way that the in Fig. 3 visible, smooth side forms the inside of the cushion elements 6.

While that in Fig. 3 overhead, first side part 20 forms the curved edge 28 of the blank 12, wherein the curvature of the curvature the folding lines 16, 26 corresponds, the opposite edge 30 of the blank 12 is rectilinear, because the respective bottom part 24 is at a distance from the edge 30. The area between the edge 30 and the adjacent fold line 26 of the respective bottom part 24 forms a reinforcing strip 32, which can be applied to the inside of the first side part 20 adjacent to the region on the curved edge 28 when folding. In order to stabilize the folded upholstery element 6, the reinforcing strip 32 can be glued to the side part 20. At the in Fig. 1 to 3 shown example, the stabilization takes place without sticking by means of a plug connection by insertion lugs forming tabs 34 which project as an approach of the first side member 20 at the curved edge 28. To form a plug-in connection, a slot 36 forming an interruption of the folding line 26 is cut on the bottom part 24, adjacent to the reinforcing strips 32.

The connecting lines 10 fulfill a multiple function. On the one hand they form between continuous padding elements 6 bending lines at the joints between oppositely curved side panels 20, 22 abutting padding elements 6. On the other hand, they form the dividing line for separating desired length ranges or individual padding elements 6. Finally, the connecting lines 10 can also form fold lines when contiguous Element rows to be protected goods are led over corner, as shown in Fig. 1 and 2 you can see. The connecting lines 10 may be formed by corresponding perforation lines to form parting lines which allow tearing off.

Fig. 4 illustrates a modified example in which the stabilization of the formed cushion elements 6 is not carried out by a plug connection by means of tabs 34 and slots 36, but by means of an adhesive bond between reinforcing strips 32 (FIGS. Fig. 3 ) and inside of the first side part 20. In the in Fig. 4 shown, glued state is the blank 12 folded around bending lines 40 and 42 and folded into a flat shape, wherein the bending lines 40 and 42 respectively in the middle in the second side part 22 and the first side part 20 perpendicular to the connecting lines 10 extend. For the folding process to form the upholstery elements 6, when the gluing 12 is present, the blank 12 merely has to be placed around the bending lines 40, 42, whereby folding operations on the fold lines 16 and 26 take place practically automatically in the course of erecting the blank 12. In a further difference from the first embodiment, the curved, adjoining the lid parts 18 end edge 28 instead of the in Fig. 3 shown small-scale tabs 34 large-scale projections 44 formed, of which in Fig. 4 is shown a set up and can serve as a grip tab or as anchoring element for attachment of the cushioning device to be protected goods or for other purposes.
