Definitions
- the invention relates to a fuel injector with an injector housing, in which a nozzle needle is axially displaceable, which cooperates with a valve piston having an end which faces one end of the nozzle needle.
- German Patent Application DE 100 20 867 A1 discloses a fuel injector with a nozzle needle, which is coupled to a pressure rod by means of a guide sleeve.
- the object of the invention is to provide a fuel injector according to the preamble of claim 1, which has a long service life and is simple and inexpensive to produce.
- the object is in a fuel injector with an injector, in which a nozzle needle is axially displaceable, which cooperates with a valve piston having an end which faces an end of the nozzle needle, achieved in that the mutually facing ends centering and / or guide surfaces are provided which bear directly against each other.
- the centering and / or guide surfaces make it possible to compensate for deviations in coaxialness by one end guiding or centering the other end. When the two ends are moved towards each other, then cause the centering and / or guide surfaces a radially concentric position of the two ends to each other.
- the valve piston may be made in one or more parts and include, for example, a push rod. In a multi-part version with push rod, the end of the push rod facing the nozzle needle is regarded as the end of the valve piston.
- a preferred embodiment of the fuel injector is characterized in that one end has an elevation and the other end has a depression.
- the shape and / or shape of the elevation is, according to one essential aspect of the invention, tuned to the shape and / or shape of the depression such that the end is centered and / or guided with the elevation in the end with the depression.
- a further preferred embodiment of the fuel injector is characterized in that the one end has a centering and / or guide surface in the form of a truncated cone.
- the truncated cone can be designed as a cone-shaped elevation or as a funnel-shaped depression.
- a further preferred embodiment of the fuel injector is characterized in that the other end has a curved centering and / or guide surface.
- the curved centering and / or guide surface may be curved inward as a recess or as an increase to the outside.
- a further preferred embodiment of the fuel injector is characterized in that one end is concave and the other end is convex.
- the surface pressure compared to a ball / cone contact can be reduced.
- the position of the center points of the curvature radii of the centering and / or guide surfaces results from the selected radii of curvature itself and from the selected angles of inclination of the common tangent at the point of contact.
- Another preferred embodiment of the fuel injector is characterized in that the concave end has a larger radius of curvature than the convex end.
- other curved cutting lines are possible, which form a common tangent at the contact point.
- the depression is provided at the end of the nozzle needle and merges radially outward into a planar bearing surface.
- the support surface forms a stop for a nozzle spring or a shim, with which the biasing force of the nozzle spring inserted. can be made.
- the end of the valve piston has a smaller diameter than the end of the nozzle needle.
- the centering and / or guide surface at the end of the nozzle needle has the shape of a truncated cone.
- Another preferred embodiment of the fuel injector is characterized in that the recess is provided at the end of the valve piston. Preferably, the two ends have the same diameter.
- a further preferred embodiment of the fuel injector is characterized in that the centering and / or guide surface at the end of the valve piston has the shape of a truncated cone. The centering and / or guide surface thus forms a funnel-like depression at the end of the valve piston.
- a further preferred embodiment of the fuel injector is characterized in that a support collar is provided on the valve piston.
- the support collar forms a stop for a nozzle spring or a dial, with which the biasing force of the nozzle spring can be adjusted.
- FIG. 1 is a longitudinal section through a detail of a fuel injector with a convex valve piston end which is coupled to a frusto-conical nozzle needle end;
- Figure 2 shows a similar section as in Figure 1 with a convex nozzle needle end which is coupled to a frusto-conical valve piston end, in longitudinal section;
- Figure 3 is a highly simplified representation of a concave valve piston end which is coupled to a convex nozzle needle end, in longitudinal section and
- Figure 4 is a similar view as in Figure 3 with a convex valve piston end which is coupled to a concave nozzle needle end, in longitudinal section.
- FIG. 1 to 4 are each a section of a fuel injector 1; 21 shown in longitudinal section.
- the fuel injector 1; 21 includes an injector housing 2; 22 with a nozzle body 3; 23, in which a nozzle needle 4; 24 is guided back and forth movable.
- the nozzle needle 4; 24 opens and closes with a combustion chamber near the end of injection holes in the nozzle body 3, through which fuel from the fuel injector 1, 21 is injected into a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine.
- valve piston 16; 34 is part of a control valve, with the aid of which the opening movement of the nozzle needle 4; 24 is controlled.
- the valve piston 16; 34 may be made in one or more parts, and include, for example, a push rod, which with its end close to the combustion chamber at the nozzle needle end 5; 25 is present.
- the nozzle needle end 5 shown in FIG. 1 has a central blind hole 6, through which a common longitudinal axis 8 of the nozzle needle 4 and of the valve piston 16 extends.
- the central blind hole 6 passes radially outward into a truncated cone-like depression 10, which forms a centering and / or guide surface on the nozzle needle end 5.
- the truncated cone-like depression 10 transitions radially outward into a flat bearing surface 12.
- a ball-shaped or crowned elevation 14 which is formed on the end 15 of the valve piston 16 which is close to the combustion chamber.
- the valve piston 16 is guided centrally to the nozzle needle 4.
- the diameter of the valve piston end 15 is smaller than the diameter of the nozzle needle end 5.
- a dial 18 which is clamped between the plane 12 Auflageflä- and a nozzle spring 17, which serves to the nozzle needle 4 in its closed position pretension. Due to the thickness of the dial 18, the biasing force of the nozzle spring 17 can be adjusted.
- the common longitudinal axis of the nozzle needle 24 and of the valve piston 34 is designated by 28.
- the combustion chamber remote end 25 of the nozzle needle 24 has the shape of a spherical portion 30 which is vaulted convex outwardly.
- a central blind hole 32 is recessed, which merges radially outward into a frusto-conical depression 35 which bears against the ball portion 30 of the nozzle needle end 25.
- the inventive design of the two ends 25, 33 of the valve piston 34 is automatically centered to the nozzle needle 24.
- a support collar 36 is formed, which forms a stop for a dial 38 which is clamped between the support collar 36 and a nozzle spring 37, through which the nozzle needle 24 is biased in its closed position.
- valve piston 41 a concave end of a valve piston 41 is shown greatly simplified. At the concave end of the valve piston 41 is a convex end of a nozzle needle 42 at. The common longitudinal axis of valve piston 41 and nozzle needle 42 is designated 44.
