Über die Eingabeeinrichtung können weitere Daten eingegeben werden, die die Bestimmung des Preises einer Ware ermöglichen. So kann beispielsweise eine Zahlenkombination eingegeben werden, die neben dem maschinenlesbaren Code an der Ware angeordnet ist, und die bei einem beschädigten Code die Bestimmung des Preises zulässt. Ferner können Obsttyp und Gemüsetyp eingegeben werden. Erfindungsgemäß ist die Vorrichtung mit einem Sensor ausgestattet, der erkennt, wenn eine nicht durch die Abtasteinrichtung erfasste, auf der Transporteinrichtung transportierte Ware an einer vorgegebenen Position angekommen ist. Der Sensor kann beispielsweise mit einer Anzeigeeinrichtung gekoppelt sein, die den Benutzer darüber informiert, dass eine Ware nicht durch die Abtasteinrichtung erfasst werden konnte und um welche Ware es sich handelt. Dies erleichtert die Zuordnung und Entnahme der Ware von der Transporteinrichtung durch den Benutzer. Darüber hinaus kann der Sensor an eine Steuereinrichtung der Transporteinrichtung gekoppelt sein. - Apparatus for detecting products in a self-service checkout system,
having a transport device (1, 13) for transporting the products (5, 6, 7, 8, 20) in a predefined transport direction (4, 14),
having at least one optical image recording device (2, 15) which is arranged in a stationary manner on the transport device (1, 13) and is intended to record at least one image of each product transported on the transport device (1, 13),
having at least one scanning device (3, 16) which is arranged in a stationary manner on the transport device (1, 13) and is intended to detect machine-readable codes with which the products (5, 6) are equipped,
having a balance (9, 17) which is arranged downstream of the scanning device (3, 16) in the transport direction (4, 14) and/or having an additional handheld scanning device (10) beside the transport device (1, 13),
the transport device (1, 13) being equipped with a control device, characterized
in that it is equipped with a sensor (11, 18) which detects when a product (8, 20) which has not been detected by the scanning device (3, 16) and is transported on the transport device (1, 13) has arrived at a predetermined position,
