Description

The present invention relates to the technical field of product delivery, liquid, semi-liquid, viscous or gaseous, especially in the medical field. A device used to deliver the product may comprise a pump, for example for nasal sprays, or other types of dispensing means, for example an ophthalmic liquid dispensing valve, a powder inhaler device, or a dispensing device. syringe protection.

Le document US 5,307,953 décrit un dispositif selon le préambule de la revendication 1.According to an example of a device comprising a pump, described in the document FR 2,885,887 , the device comprises a pump body and a dispensing head, mounted movably on the pump body between a rest position and an activated position, in order to deliver a predetermined dose of product. When the user wishes to use the device, it presses the dispensing head to take its activated position and thus delivers a dose of product. The document US 5,307,953 describes a device according to the preamble of claim 1.

It turns out that the dose of product delivered by the device may depend on the effort exerted by the user on the mobile part of the device, here composed of the dispensing head. Indeed, depending on the force exerted by the user, incomplete doses can be delivered. The fact that the dose delivered is not constant is a problem, which can have significant consequences in the case where the product is a drug. Moreover, in addition to the question of the quantity of product delivered, the quality of the spray may also depend on the effort exerted by the user, particularly the particle size of the particles or droplets, the angle and the density of the spray, which can generate sprays of poor quality. For example, when the dose is delivered with a stop during the run, the spray may take the form of a jet while a mist spray is expected.

The present invention aims in particular to provide a device ensuring the delivery of regular doses of product, from the point of view of quantity and / or quality.

For this purpose, the subject of the invention is a device for delivering a product, comprising a first part, called a fixed part, and a second part movable with respect to the first part between a rest position and an activated position, this second part being said moving part, the device further comprising means for abutting the movable part relative to the fixed part, to be force-passed so that the movable part passes from its rest position to its activated position .

These means of abutment thus constitute a hard point of activation, preferably located at the very beginning of the stroke of the moving part. By providing such means, it is ensured that the user exerts a minimum effort on the delivery device, namely a sufficient effort to deliver the entire predefined dose of product and / or to deliver a spray that conforms to certain characteristics. expected, for example with a certain particle size of the droplets. Thus a user exerting insufficient effort on the moving part, rather than delivering an incomplete dose (as is the case with a traditional device), is prevented from delivering the product. It is therefore urged to press the moving part, exerting a greater force, sufficient to cross the stop means, so to deliver the full dose. As a result, the dose delivered by the device is regular, or reproducible, therefore independent of the user.

It is understood that the mobile part and / or the fixed part may be composed of one or more separate parts. Generally, the movable portion delimits, with the fixed part, a metering chamber, defining a metering volume, corresponding to the difference between the volume of the chamber in the high position and the volume of the chamber in the low position. This dosing volume determines the dose of product delivered at each activation of the device. It should be noted that the dosing volume does not necessarily correspond to the volume of the metering chamber, since the volume of the chamber in the low position is not necessarily zero.

It is furthermore understood that the abutment means can be arranged on any device intended to deliver a predetermined dose of product and in which the delivery requires a trigger with a certain force on the part of the user. In particular, the device may be a pump device, an ophthalmic product delivery device, a powder inhaler device, or a device for protecting a syringe.

The device described above may further include one or more of the following features:
  • The means of abutment are permanent, intended to be crossed in force at each activation of the device by a user.
  • The means of abutment are punctual, that is to say that their action is relatively short compared to the stroke of the movable part. Thus, the crossing of the abutment means is followed by a release which causes a rapid movement of the moving part, which allows a satisfactory activation of the device.
  • The abutment means are configured such that the force required to overcome them in force is greater than the force required for the movable part to travel at the end of the stroke. In other words, the force to cross the means of abutment forces the moving part to cross its entire stroke at once, which ensures the delivery of a satisfactory dose in quantity, quality and reproducibility.
  • The abutment means comprise an abutment carried by the movable part and an abutment carried by the fixed part, at least one of these abutments being mounted on an elastic portion of the fixed part and / or the mobile part, deformable. between a stop configuration and an erase configuration, the elastic portion preferably being an elastic tab.
  • The device comprises means for reinforcing the elastic portion, for example a piece pressing on an area of the elastic portion. These reinforcing means, or stiffening means, allow to increase the resistance of the elastic portion, so the effort required to make him take his position of erasure. Thus, while only one elastic tab could be erased due to a relatively small force, the reinforcement means can maintain the elastic portion so that it remains in abutment configuration when the effort is not sufficient to deliver the full dose of product.
  • The elastic portion comprises a tab having two opposite ends, the two ends being fixedly mounted on the fixed part, or fixedly mounted on the movable part. Thus, both the elastic tab may have one of its ends freely mounted relative to the fixed or movable part, as the elastic tab may have its two ends integral with the fixed part, or mobile, of the device. In this second case, it is the middle portion of the tab, disposed between the two fixed ends, which deforms to take the erase configuration. As a result, the elastic tab has a high resistance before taking its erase position and requires a relatively substantial force on the part of the user to activate the device.
  • The abutment means comprise a stop, slidably mounted relative to the fixed part or relative to the movable part, movable between an erasure position and an abutment position, under the action of recall means pressing on this stop, for example under the action of a spring or an elastic arm. Thus, the abutment means are force-crossed, not as a result of an elastic deformation of the movable part or the fixed part, but following the deformation of return means allowing the stop sliding, for example following the compression of a spring. It is thus possible to offer greater resistance to the stop means, to ensure that the sufficient force is exerted by the user. We obtain a device delivering particularly reproducible doses, regardless of the user.
  • The device comprises a pump, the fixed part comprising a pump body and the mobile part comprising a dispensing head. This provides a pump whose activation is independent of the user, without significantly altering its structure. For example, it may be sufficient to modify only two of the walls of a conventional pump to incorporate the abutment means therein. Note that this pump ensures simple delivery of constant doses while meeting the requirement of compactness of a pump. A pump body generally corresponds to all the parts of the pump mounted fixed on the tank of the device, and the dispensing head to all of the mounted parts movable relative to the pump body.

The invention will be better understood on reading the description which follows, given solely by way of example and with reference to the drawings in which:
  • the figure 1 is a sectional view of a device for delivering a product according to an embodiment, the device being in the activated position;
  • the figure 2 is a view similar to the figure 1 the device being in the rest position;

As can be seen on the figure 1 , a device for delivering a liquid, semi-liquid, viscous or gaseous product comprises a pump 10, used for example for pharmaceutical nasal sprays. This pump 10 is intended to be mounted on a reservoir (not shown) and is generally surmounted by a dispensing nozzle (not shown), on which the user presses.

The pump 10 comprises a first portion 12, said fixed portion, and a second portion 14, said moving portion, movable relative to the fixed portion 12 between a rest position, shown in FIG. figure 2 , and an activated position, represented on the figure 1 . Here, the rest position corresponds to a so-called high position, and the activated position to a so-called low position.

In this example, the fixed part 12 comprises a pump body 16, carrying a gripping tube 18, a piston 20 and a guide sleeve 22. The tube 18 is connected to the reservoir, in order to draw product intended to pass through the pump. Furthermore, the fixed part 12 comprises a fastening collar 24, for crimping the pump 10 on the tank. It is understood that the pump can also be mounted on the tank by screwing or snap.

The piston 20 comprises a support 26, fixedly mounted in the lower part of the pump body 16, traversed by a feed channel 28, arranged in the extension of the tube 18, and opening onto one or more feed orifices provided on the upper end 32 of the support. The support 26 is also capped on its upper end 32 by a deformable membrane 30, fixedly mounted on the support 26. The membrane 30 is provided with an upper transverse wall forming a non-return valve with the upper end 32 of the support 26, and a cylindrical skirt having one or more sealing lips 34.

The moving part 14 of the pump is also called a dispensing head. In addition to the dispensing nozzle, it comprises a first cylinder 36, slidably mounted inside the pump body 16, and delimiting, with the piston 20, a metering chamber 38. More precisely, the piston 20 can slide sealed with respect to the cylinder 36, thanks to the sealing lips 34, so as to vary the volume of the metering chamber 38. The metering chamber 38 defines a metering volume, corresponding to the difference between the volume of the chamber 38 in the high position and the volume of the chamber 38 in the low position, called "dead volume". This dosing volume determines the dose of product delivered at each activation of the device. On the figure 1 , the metering chamber 38 in the low position has a volume (dead volume) substantially zero, because the pump is in the activated position, the dose of product contained in the metering chamber has just been expelled. We understand that this dead volume is not necessarily zero. On the figure 2 , the chamber 38 has a volume substantially equal to the volume of a dose of product.

Of course, the cylinders 36 and 40 can be made of several parts. A needle 42 is slidably mounted within this second cylinder 40, between a rest position and an activated position, under the action of first return means 43, composed of a compression spring. The needle 42 is provided with a base 42a, sealingly mounted in the second cylinder 40, of a rod 42b, configured to be able to close, in the rest position of the pump, an orifice 44 formed on the lower end of the second cylinder 40, and an end 42c, projecting slightly inside the metering chamber 38 when the needle 42 is in the activated position. This end 42c is configured to press the membrane 30 when the movable portion 14 is in the activated position, so as to ensure the opening of the orifice 44 in the priming phase of the device (so as to push the air of the metering chamber 38 towards the top of the device) and / or to close the supply orifice of the support 26.

The dispensing head 14 also comprises a support 46, fixedly mounted on the first cylinder 36. The support 46 defines a distribution chamber 48. Of course, the support 46 could be made in one piece with the elements 36 and / or 40. It is generally on the support 46 that the dispensing nozzle of the device is mounted, the chamber 48 being connected to a dispensing nozzle provided on this nozzle. Note that the chamber 48 is not necessarily present on the support 46, it can provide only a connection of the support 46 and / or the cylinder 40 with the dispensing tip. The support 46 of the head 14 is provided with an inner skirt 50 and an outer skirt 52, between which second return means 54 are housed. The return means 54 are composed of a spring in compression, bearing on the one hand on the support 46, between the two skirts 50, 52, on the other hand on the fixed part 12, at the bottom of the sleeve 22. at the spring 54, the head 14, movable relative to the fixed part 12 between a rest position and an activated position, is held in the up position, as shown in FIG. figure 1 . Inside the inner skirt 50, the support 46 also has a bearing seat of the first spring 43. The support 46 further comprises means ensuring the passage of the liquid from the metering chamber 38 to the tip of distribution, more precisely to the distribution chamber 48, arranged in particular between the second cylinder 40 and the inner skirt 50, preferably so as to ensure the passage of liquid without the liquid being in contact with the return means 43 and 54 .

The pump 10 also comprises means 56, 58 for abutment of the movable part 14 relative to the fixed part 12, to be forced past in order for the part 14 to move from its rest position to its activated position. The means 56, 58 are shown in more detail on the figure 3 . In this example, they comprise three stops 56, carried by the moving part 14, and three stops 58 carried by the fixed part 12. In the example of FIG. figure 3 the stops 58 are each mounted on an elastic portion 60 of the fixed part 12, plus The resilient portion 60 is an elastic tab having an end 62 formed integrally with the fixed portion 12, and a free end 64. The elastic tab 60 is deformable between an abutment configuration, shown in FIG. figure 3 , and an erase configuration. In its abutment configuration, the free end 64 of the tab 60 is located vertically from the end 62. In its erasure configuration, the stop 58 is moved to the right by a distance X represented on the figure 3 . This displacement is effected by elastic deformation of the lug 60, the abutment 56 having a chamfer 66, forming a ramp with a complementary chamfer 68 of the abutment 58 when the mobile part is moved downwards, according to the arrow 70.

There are provided here three elastic tabs on the fixed part 12, but we can of course provide more or less. Note that it is interesting to provide stops in three points to ensure the immobilization of the mobile part at rest. Furthermore, it is understood that the abutment means 56, 58 may take other forms.

The means 56, 58 of abutment are permanent, and therefore not fusible, that is to say that they are intended to be forcefully crossed at each activation of the pump by the user. They are configured in such a way that the force required to overcome them in force is greater than the force required to deliver a dose of product. Moreover, it will be noted that the means 56, 58 are punctual.

The pump 10 further comprises means for reinforcing the elastic portion 60, pressing on the zone 62 of the portion 60. In this example, the reinforcing means comprise a belt 72, carried by the fastening collar 24, pressing on a part of the tabs 60 to increase their resistance before deforming. This increases the minimum effort that the user must exercise.

The operation of the pump figures 1 , 2 and 3 , assembled on the tank and provided with the dispensing nozzle, will now be described.

Before the user delivers a dose of product, the pump 10 is in the rest position, or high position, represented on the figure 2 . In this position, the pump is already primed, so the metering chamber 38 has a certain volume, said volume in the high position, and is filled with product, the product contained in this chamber 38 comprising the dose of product to be dispensed. In other words, as we can see on the figure 2 , the rest position corresponds to a position in which the first cylinder 36, so the whole of the moving part 14, is shifted upwards relative to the fixed part 12, in particular with respect to the pump body 16. In this position, the needle 42 is pressed against the lower end of the cylinder 40, under the action of the spring 43, the rod 42b cooperating with the orifice 44 so as to close this orifice. Furthermore, in this position, the end 42c of the needle 42 is not in contact with the piston 20, the latter being at the bottom of the metering chamber 38. In this rest position, the stop means 56, 58 are not yet crossed in force, the user does not press on the pump to activate it, they have a position similar to that shown on the figure 2 or 3 .

When the user wishes to deliver a dose of product, he presses the movable portion 14 of the pump 10, possibly by pressing the dispensing tip. It thus exerts on the mobile part 14 a force schematized by the arrow 70 on the figure 3 , in order to activate the pump 10. Under the action of this support, the movable portion 14 begins to descend, until the abutment means 56, 58 are in contact and thus exert a resistance to the support of the user. Following this abutment means 56, 58, two solutions are possible.

That is, the force exerted by the user is sufficient for the chamfers 66, 68 to move the end 64 of the distance X, that is to say for the means 56, 58 to be force-crossed. In this case, the user has exerted a sufficiently strong support that will be able to activate the pump and deliver a satisfactory dose of product, as explained below.

Either the force exerted by the user is insufficient for the means 56, 58 to be force-crossed. In this case, since the means 56, 58 prevent the mobile part 14 from moving, the user is forced to exert an upper force on the movable part 14, in order to force the passage of the means 56, 58. This upper force exerted by the user is then transmitted to the rest of the pump 10 to activate it and ensure the delivery of a satisfactory dose of product, as explained below.

Once the means 56, 58 forcefully passed, the movable portion 14 continues its downward stroke, in accordance with the arrow 70. Thus, the support 46 moving downwards, the first 36 and second 40 cylinders are also moved to the bottom, which has the effect of reducing the volume of the metering chamber 38. More specifically, the liquid contained in this chamber exerts an upward pressure on the needle 42, so that the rod 42b is moved and n ' closes the orifice 44. The liquid can thus escape from the chamber 38. Once the liquid has passed through the orifice 44, it flows between the second cylinder 40 and the inner skirt 50, and then passes into the distribution chamber 48, to be delivered out of the dispensing nozzle. Note that when the volume of the metering chamber 38 decreases until a volume in the low position, here substantially zero, the liquid exerts a pressure on the needle 42 to raise it. According to an optional embodiment, the end 42c of the needle in the low position presses the membrane 30 so as to press against the upper end 32 of the support 26, and thus close the or the supply ports.

Once the dosing chamber 38 reaches its volume in the low position, here substantially zero, that is to say once the dose of product has been dispensed, the user releases his support on the mobile part 14. Under the action of the spring 43, the needle 42 is again compressed against the lower wall of the cylinder 40, so as to close the orifice 44. Moreover, under the effect of the spring 54, the movable portion 14 rises towards the high, in a direction opposite to the arrow 70. Moreover, thanks to the spring 54, the second cylinder 36 slides relative to the piston 20 in the direction opposite to the arrow 70, so that the metering chamber 38 increases in volume, so as to create a vacuum and suck the product through the grip tube 18. The movable portion 14 moves upward to the initial rest position. In this position, the metering chamber 38 is again filled with product, having an identical volume in the upper position, to the one it had at the beginning, and thus allowing to deliver another dose, of volume identical to that coming from 'to be delivered.

It will be understood that the abutment means 56, 58 may take other forms than that illustrated on the Figures 1 to 3 . For example, according to a variant illustrated on the figure 4 not only the stop 58 is carried by a deformable tab 60, but the stop 56 is also carried by a deformable tab 74, carried by the outer skirt 52 of the support 46. According to another variant, the deformable tab or tabs 60 may be arranged on the movable part 14 alone.

On comprend qu'une telle configuration de la patte 60' permet d'assurer une résistance relativement importante au passage en force des moyens 56, 58.Moreover, according to a second embodiment illustrated on the figure 5 , the elastic portion comprises a tab 60 'having two opposite ends 62', 64 ', each end 62', 64 'being fixedly mounted on the fixed part 12, more precisely on the guide sleeve 22. According to this embodiment, it is the middle part of the leg 60 'which deforms when the means 56, 58 are crossed in force. It is understood that such a configuration of the tab 60 'ensures a relatively high resistance to the passage of force means 56, 58.

La butée 58 pourrait éventuellement être montée coulissante par rapport à la partie mobile 14.On the embodiment of the figure 6 , the stop 58 is slidably mounted relative to the fixed part 12, more precisely with respect to the sleeve 22. This stop 58 is movable between an erasing position and an abutment position, illustrated on FIG. figure 6 . This displacement is exerted by return means pressing on the abutment 58, for example a spring or an elastic arm exerting on the stop 58 a force represented by the reference 76. The stop 58 could possibly be slidably mounted relative to the moving part. 14.

According to yet another particular variant, it is possible to combine the elastic portion 60 of the figure 3 and the reminder means of the figure 6 . Thus, a spring can press a stop 58 mounted, not sliding relative to the fixed portion 12, but directly integrated on the fixed portion 12. This portion 60 is deformable between an abutment configuration and an erase configuration, being recalled in its abutment configuration by return means similar to those of the figure 6 . One of the advantages of this variant lies in the fact that the stop is made directly in the fixed part or the moving part, and therefore does not require the assembly of an additional specific piece.

It is understood that the structure and operation of the examples of Figures 4 to 6 are similar to that of figures 1 , 2 and 3 .

It will be noted that the device described is not limited to the examples described above. In particular, the means 56, 58 of abutment can be provided on other parts of the fixed part 12 and the movable part 14. It could possibly be envisaged that these means are provided between the pump body 16 and the top the second cylinder 36, or between the tip mounted on the movable portion 14 and the sleeve 22. The fact of providing the means 56, 58 respectively on the support 46 and the sleeve 22 is particularly satisfactory, because these means of implementation stop are arranged in an area not requiring sealing, the product does not flow in this area. Moreover, the means 56, 58 thus arranged are sufficiently far from the action of the fingers of the user, which reduces the risk of malfunction.
