Definitions
- the invention relates to a specified in claim 1 method for adjusting a hearing aid and a specified in claim 7 hearing with a hearing aid and an external unit for adjusting the hearing aid.
- the adjustment of hearing aids is todayadays often achieved by fitting algorithms on the basis of audiometric data.
- audiometric data for example, the hearing loss, the discomfort threshold, the volume scaling and the like are taken into account.
- the fitting formulas are based on statistical and empirical findings and therefore have only conditional validity for the individual hearing device user.
- a time-consuming follow-up care is necessary with the hearing device acoustician.
- Another problem is that the optimum setting for the user of his hearing aid can only be found and verified in realistic and user-relevant acoustic situations.
- time-based learning There are two approaches: time-based learning and event-based learning.
- time-based learning hearing aid settings that are used for a longer duration are given more weight than those with a shorter duration.
- a disadvantage of time-based learning is the limited availability for level-dependent learning.
- level-dependent learning it is important that a learning step takes into account the current level. Therefore, there is also the so-called event-based learning. In this case, a learning step is always carried out when the hearing device user makes a change in his device, such as the gain.
- event-based learning has its limitation in that the meaning of a training step is independent of the time within which an adjustment remains active. In other words, if the hearing aid user maintains a change over a long period of time, that change will not be weighted more heavily than a change for a shorter period of time.
- test signals or sound samples are typically stored by the manufacturer in advance on the hearing aid or an associated remote control and correspond to all significant environmental situations to which a hearing aid wearer is typically exposed.
- the post-published publication DE 10 2008 019 898 A1 indicates a method for overcoming the described disadvantage.
- a desired setting value is entered into the hearing aid at a freely selectable time, at least one sound quantity relating to an ambient situation is measured at the freely selectable time, a time period is determined within which the desired set value has not been changed and setting values to be used - depending on the desired one Setting value, the at least one measured at an arbitrary time sound and the determined time - learned.
- the described scope of learning is limited to algorithms that the hearing device wearer can implement "in vivo" via an operating element, such as a volume knob or a remote control.
- Other algorithms that contribute equally to sound and comfort are not learned.
- a limitation of the maximum output level (MPO) with the known methods can not be learned.
- MPO usually suggests very loud, short, transient signals and is therefore very difficult to learn "in vivo".
- Other examples include impulse noise suppression or feedback suppression techniques. The situations in which the algorithm works are too short to react within the situation and to train the hearing aid.
- the stated object is achieved by the method of independent claim 1 and the hearing device of independent claim 7.
- the invention claims a method for adjusting a hearing aid with the steps according to claim 1.
- the auditory situation can be identified and described by a situation recognition and / or at least one level measurement and / or at least one algorithm.
- the output and / or display and the input of the evaluation measure via a hearing aid remote control can be done.
- a simple querying the stored listening situations is possible.
- the output and / or display as well as the input of the evaluation measure via a personal computer takes place. This offers the advantage of easy operation.
- the output can be made acoustically by the hearing aid.
- the operation is simplified.
- the storage and the output may comprise recordings of microphone signals of the hearing device.
- the invention also claims a hearing device for setting a hearing device with at least one hearing device and at least one external unit with the features of claim 7.
- the device may comprise a situation recognition unit and / or at least one level meter. These recognize and determine the hearing situation.
- the external unit may be a remote control or a personal computer.
- the output unit may comprise a display unit.
- the memory unit stores recordings of microphone signals of the hearing device.
- the output unit can output the stored recordings of microphone signals of the hearing aid.
- FIG. 1 shows a flowchart of a method according to the invention for adjusting a hearing aid.
- a hearing aid wearer carries the hearing aid whose parameters are to be adjusted.
- the hearing device stores those times and hearing situations in which at least one prescribable algorithm of a hearing aid signal processing is activated.
- the hearing device is switched to a learning mode. This can be done for example by the hearing aid wearer in the evening. Preferably, the switching takes place via a remote control.
- the recorded data is output or displayed.
- the results of a hearing aid own situation recognition unit or different level meters can be used to more representative characterize the acoustic situation based on these data.
- the output preferably takes place acoustically via the hearing aid itself. Display and output also take place on the remote control or a personal computer.
- the output may also include a brief verbal or textual characterization of the listening situation, such as "loud thudding" or "bang". Also recorded recordings be played the microphone signal. This serves to better remind the hearing aid wearer of the hearing situation.
- the hearing aid wearer evaluates satisfaction with the setting of the algorithm in the specific hearing situation. For this purpose a rating BM is entered into the remote control or the personal computer. The remote control or the personal computer offer the hearing aid wearer various options for the evaluation. The simplest rating involves three grades: “too loud”, “right” and "too quiet”.
- one or more parameters of the selected and displayed algorithm are changed according to the evaluation criterion BM. In the case of the evaluation "correct" no change takes place.
- a suitable example of learning is the algorithm for limiting the maximum output level, called MPO for short.
- the MPO usually suggests very loud, short, transient signals.
- the hearing aid stores, for example, that the MPO was triggered once a day in noisy environment at 15:00 clock in the channels 1 and 2. The hearing aid wearer then has the opportunity to assess, post hoc, whether he was satisfied with the hearing aid in this situation. If the device was too loud, the hearing aid is trained to reduce the MPO in channels 1 and 2 by one step.
- FIG. 2 a block diagram of a hearing device according to the invention with a hearing aid 1 and a remote control 11 is shown.
- the hearing device comprises a microphone 2 for recording ambient sound and its conversion into an electrical signal, a signal processing unit 4 connected to the microphone 2, which digitizes, modifies, amplifies and reconverts the electrical signal into an analog signal which is finally transmitted via a receiver 3 is given as amplified and modified acoustic signal to the eardrum of a hearing aid wearer.
- the hearing device 1 further has a classification unit 6 connected to the output of the microphone 2, which classifies each hearing situation, and a memory unit 5 connected to the classification unit 6 and the signal processing unit 4, which includes the algorithms selected by the signal processing unit 4 records or saves the corresponding listening situations and timestamps. If necessary, the parameters of the algorithms of the signal processing unit 4 can be changed with the aid of a change unit 7 in the hearing aid 1.
- the hearing device 1 can be switched to a training mode or learning mode in which the stored hearing situations with the associated algorithms are retrieved from the memory unit 5 of the hearing device and can be displayed on an output unit 12 comprising a display unit 13.
- the hearing aid user with the associated algorithms can be recalled to the hearing device user.
- the hearing device user can thus evaluate the hearing situation and the associated reaction of the hearing device 1 and communicate this evaluation via an input unit 14 of the remote control 11 to the hearing aid 1.
- the changing unit 7 changes one or more parameters of the algorithm responding in the respective listening situation.
- the hearing aid wearer can thus, for example, train the hearing aid 1 in the evening.
- the communication between the hearing aid 1 and the remote control 11 takes place via a wireless data transmission 21, 22.
Description
The invention relates to a specified in claim 1 method for adjusting a hearing aid and a specified in
The adjustment of hearing aids, in particular concerning the amplification and compression, is todayadays often achieved by fitting algorithms on the basis of audiometric data. As audiometric data, for example, the hearing loss, the discomfort threshold, the volume scaling and the like are taken into account. The fitting formulas are based on statistical and empirical findings and therefore have only conditional validity for the individual hearing device user. In particular, for the optimal adjustment of the frequency and level-dependent amplification, therefore, a time-consuming follow-up care is necessary with the hearing device acoustician. Another problem is that the optimum setting for the user of his hearing aid can only be found and verified in realistic and user-relevant acoustic situations.
So far, a repetitive visit to the hearing care professional has iteratively found an individual, optimal setting. However, as the acoustician can only adequately reproduce certain acoustic situations, the setting thus found often turns out to be less suitable in real situations. Especially the typical spatial sound field, which is often available to the user, or the individual needs of the hearing device user can not be adjusted or taken into account in artificial acoustic situations.
It is therefore a concern in the setting of a hearing more specific to be able to respond to individual conditions.
Therefore, modern digital hearing aids have learning algorithms that allow personal hearing aid settings to be learned. The hearing device user sets either over a time-limited learning period or continuously over the lifetime of his hearing aid many different values of the hearing aid settings. But not all of these settings have the same meaning for the hearing device user. Some of these settings will be revoked quickly. Once the hearing device user has found settings which correspond well to the hearing situation, he will leave these settings unchanged until the hearing device situation changes. For a learning algorithm, all user settings are of equal importance. Therefore, satisfaction with a particular attitude must be taken into account in some way.
There are two approaches: time-based learning and event-based learning. In time-based learning, hearing aid settings that are used for a longer duration are given more weight than those with a shorter duration. A disadvantage of time-based learning is the limited availability for level-dependent learning. In level-dependent learning, it is important that a learning step takes into account the current level. Therefore, there is also the so-called event-based learning. In this case, a learning step is always carried out when the hearing device user makes a change in his device, such as the gain.
However, event-based learning has its limitation in that the meaning of a training step is independent of the time within which an adjustment remains active. In other words, if the hearing aid user maintains a change over a long period of time, that change will not be weighted more heavily than a change for a shorter period of time.

However, the described scope of learning is limited to algorithms that the hearing device wearer can implement "in vivo" via an operating element, such as a volume knob or a remote control. Other algorithms that contribute equally to sound and comfort are not learned. For example, a limitation of the maximum output level (MPO) with the known methods can not be learned. The MPO usually suggests very loud, short, transient signals and is therefore very difficult to learn "in vivo". Other examples include impulse noise suppression or feedback suppression techniques. The situations in which the algorithm works are too short to react within the situation and to train the hearing aid.
It is an object of the invention to specify a method and an associated hearing device which make an adjustment of algorithms learnable or trainable even for short-lasting listening situations.
According to the invention, the stated object is achieved by the method of independent claim 1 and the hearing device of
The invention claims a method for adjusting a hearing aid with the steps according to claim 1.
This offers the advantage that even short-response algorithms, such as an MPO, can be trained. These can not be mapped via suitable controls on the hearing aid or a hearing aid remote control.
In a further embodiment, the auditory situation can be identified and described by a situation recognition and / or at least one level measurement and / or at least one algorithm.
In one embodiment of the invention, the output and / or display and the input of the evaluation measure via a hearing aid remote control can be done. As a result, a simple querying the stored listening situations is possible.
In a further embodiment, the output and / or display as well as the input of the evaluation measure via a personal computer takes place. This offers the advantage of easy operation.
Furthermore, the output can be made acoustically by the hearing aid. The operation is simplified.
In a further embodiment, the storage and the output may comprise recordings of microphone signals of the hearing device. The advantage of this is that a hearing device user can easily recognize the hearing situation.
The invention also claims a hearing device for setting a hearing device with at least one hearing device and at least one external unit with the features of
This offers the advantage that even algorithms that are only used for a short time can be trained.
Advantageously, the device may comprise a situation recognition unit and / or at least one level meter. These recognize and determine the hearing situation.
In a further development, the external unit may be a remote control or a personal computer.

In the
A suitable example of learning is the algorithm for limiting the maximum output level, called MPO for short. The MPO usually suggests very loud, short, transient signals. The hearing aid stores, for example, that the MPO was triggered once a day in noisy environment at 15:00 clock in the
