Claims (11)

  1. Apparatus for storing and generating sound effects by means of analog devices (5, 6) when playing a musical instrument, characterised in that the apparatus has one or more control motors (4) which can be respectively connected by way of a flexible shaft (7) to potentiometers of the analog devices (5, 6), wherein the apparatus has means for storing and retrieving the settings of the control motors (4) and wherein a given setting of the control motors (4) serves to generate a given sound effect.
  2. Apparatus according to claim 1 characterised in that the control motors (4) are controlled by a control unit (1).
  3. Apparatus according to claim 2 characterised by a controlling unit (2) for storing and retrieving the settings of the control motors (4), wherein the controlling unit (2) is connected to the control unit (1).
  4. Apparatus according to claims 2 and 3 characterised in that the control unit (1) and the controlling unit (2) are integrated in a compact device, wherein the control motors (4) are either also integrated into the device or are connected thereto by way of cable connections.
  5. Apparatus according to one of claims 1 to 4 characterised by a separate MIDI controlling unit (3).
  6. Apparatus according to one of claims 1 to 5 characterised by a visual display apparatus for displaying the set sound effect.
  7. A system comprising
    a musical instrument,
    analog devices (5, 6) connectable to the musical instrument for generating sound effects when playing the musical instrument, and
    an apparatus according to one of claims 1 to 6.
  8. A system according to claim 7 characterised in that the analog devices are musical effect devices (5) and/or tube amplifiers (6).
  9. A system according to claim 8 characterised in that the effect devices (5) are selected from the group consisting of: distorter, compressor, limiter, noise gate, chopper, rectifier, enhancer, exciter, pitch shifter, harmoniser, ring modulator, talk box, vibrato, Leslie cabinet, auto-tune, intonator, equaliser, wah-wah, time shifter, tremolo, reverberator, delay and echo devices, chorus, flanger, phaser and octaver.
  10. A system according to claim 8 or claim 9 characterised in that at least some effect devices (5) are floor effect devices.
  11. A system according to one of claims 7 to 10 characterised in that the musical instrument is an electric guitar or an electric bass.
