Description

  • The subject of the present invention is a heel hold regulation device that is a constituent part of footwear and provides for adjustment of fitting to a user's foot as to his individual foot shape.
  • A technical problem solved by the present invention is a structural solution of such regulation device that would in the first place provide for a cheap implementation and secondly allow a simple changing of a shape of a heel counter of footwear to adapt to a user's heel, with which an optimum heel hold is achieved between footwear and the foot, i.e. the heel of the foot.
  • Several variants of regulation devices for heel hold adjustment of footwear are known in prior art, for example FR 2 534 116 A1 which discloses the preamble of claim 1, however, the described embodiments do not solve the set technical problem in the same way.
  • The heel hold regulation device of the invention consists of a heel counter 1 and a heel support 3, wherein a circular rotation of said heel support 3 with respect to said heel counter 1 - provided said heel counter 1 is adequately shaped and the point of rotation 4 of said heel support 3 is adequate - changes the shape of the footwear in the heel area and consequently regulates the heel hold and each position of said heel support 3 is secured against said heel counter 1 by means of grooves 5a and a pin 5b.
  • The invention will now be explained in more detail by way of an embodiment and the belonging drawings showing in:

    assembly of a heel counter 1 and a heel support 3 and functioning of a heel hold regulation device of the invention.
  • Basic constituent parts of the heel hold regulation device of the invention are shown in Figure 1 and Figure 2, wherein Figures 3a, 3b, 3c and 3d are used to explain its functioning.
  • The heel hold regulation device of the invention consists of a heel counter 1 and a heel support 3 and is based on the principle of circular rotation of said heel support 3 in relation to said heel counter 1. Provided said heel counter 1 is adequately shaped and the point of rotation of said heel support 3 adequately chosen, said heel hold regulation device changes the shape of the footwear in the heel area.
  • The rear part of said heel counter 1 is structurally shaped at its upper edge into a foldable movable tab 2. Said heel support 3 is rotatably fastened with its front part into a centre 4 of rotation to said heel counter 1 and overlaps with its rear side the foldable movable tab 2.
  • As said heel support 3 is rotated in one direction around its rotation axis in said centre 4 of rotation, it forces with its rear part said foldable movable tab 2 into a new position, which differs from the initial (zero) position.
  • As said heel support 3 is rotated in the opposite direction, said foldable movable tab 2 reassumes its initial position / shape.
  • Said heel support 3 rotates continuously on a curve defined by the point of attachment in said centre 4 of rotation between said heel support 3 and said heel counter 1. The attachment point in said centre 4 of rotation and the length of sides of said heel support 3 are selected in such a way that said heel support 3 forces within its scope of operation the foldable movable tab 2 of said heel counter 1 to assume such new positions to achieve new shapes of the heel portion of a shoe that offer the best possible heel hold to any shape of heel and to the onset of the Achilles tendon.
  • Due to excess rotation of said heel support 3 in direction forwards it is very important for the structure to prevent the foldable movable tab 2 from reaching a position that would consequently cause overburdening of the onset and of the Achilles tendon itself.
  • Each position of said heel support 3 is uniquely defined by a mutual connection created between said heel support 3 and said foldable movable tab 2 by grooves 5a and a pin 5b provided on said movable foldable tab 2 of said heel counter 1. While the footwear is in use, said heel support 3 cannot assume a new and undesired position. The structural embodiment provides for a firm connection between said heel support 3 and said heel counter 1 in the set or desired position due to said grooves 5a and said pin 5b.
  • The user may change said heel support 3 to another new position at any time by means of said grooves 5a and said pin 5b, since the structural embodiment provides for perfect repeatability in a mutual relation of constituent parts of the regulation device.
  • As described, the shape of the upper part of said heel counter 1 is changed, which defines new shapes of the heel portion of a shoe with various positions of said foldable movable tab 2. The user may adapt the shape of the heel portion of the shoe and thus the hold of the heel counter 1 with respect to his individual shape of the foot heel.
  • Data on heel shapes show that the shape of a heel differs and can considerably vary in individuals. The heel shape together with the onset of the Achilles tendon may be flat or more curved. Based on the data obtained through scanning human's feet, the difference in dimension between a »flat« and »curved« heel shape together with the onset of the Achilles tendon can amount up to 10 millimetres.
  • The heel hold regulation device of the invention can thus be used to change the shape of the heel portion of a shoe, which thus offers a better heel hold to as many users as possible.
  • A person sets said heel support 3 to a position that best suits him as to the shape of his feet in the heel portion and of course as to his feeling of comfort and stabilisation.
  • The presented structural embodiment of the device of the invention achieves the following advantages over the existing types of regulation devices:
    • simple regulation,
    • reliability,
    • repeatability,
    • simple and cheap implementation.

Claims (2)

  1. Heel hold regulation device,
    consisting of a heel counter (1), the upper part of which continues to a foldable movable tab (2) and a heel support (3), characterised in that said front part of said heel support (3) is swivelled via a centre (4) of rotation into said heel counter (1), and in that grooves (5a) are provided on said foldable movable tab (2) and a pin (5b) is provided on the internal side of said heel support (3).
  2. Heel hold regulation device as claimed in Claim 1,
    characterised in that,
    circular rotation of said heel support (3) with respect to said heel counter (1) changes the shape of footwear in the heel area, provided said heel counter (1) is adequately shaped and the point of said centre (4) of rotation of said heel support (3) is adequately set.
