The invention relates to a wear protection coating, in particular an erosion protective coating, preferably for gas turbine components, according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
Components subject to flow mechanics, such as gas turbine components, are subject to wear as a result of oxidation, corrosion and erosion. Erosion is a wear process caused by solids moving in the gas flow. In order to extend the service life of fluidically loaded components, wear protection coatings are required which protect the components against wear, in particular against erosion, corrosion and oxidation.
From EP0674020B1 a multilayer, erosion-resistant coating for the surfaces of substrates is known. The erosion-resistant coating disclosed therein provides a wear-resistant coating consisting of multiple multilayer systems applied repetitively on the substrate to be coated. Thus, in EP0674020B1, the multi-layer systems applied in repetition are each formed from two different layers, namely on the one hand of a layer of a metallic material and on the other hand of a layer of titanium diboride.
Also according to EP 0366289 A1, the wear protection coating is formed from a plurality of multilayer systems applied in repetition on the substrate to be coated, each multilayer system again consisting of two different layers, namely a metallic layer, for example titanium, and a ceramic layer, for Example of titanium nitride.
Another erosion-resistant wear protection coating is known from EP0562108B1. Thus, the wear protection coating disclosed there is again several formed in repetition on a multi-layer system applied to a substrate to be coated. FIG. 4 of EP0562108B1 discloses a wear protection coating formed from a plurality of repeatedly applied multilayer coating systems, each multilayer coating system consisting of four layers.
The wear protection coatings are preferably applied by vapor deposition to the surface of a component to be coated and thus protected, whereby the roughness on an outer, flow-relevant surface of the component can be increased by vapor deposition of a wear protection coating. The increase in roughness is aerodynamically unfavorable, since flow losses can form. Furthermore, an increase in roughness can result in faster and more severe contamination, as deposits of contaminants on rough surfaces can more readily deposit. An increased roughness also causes an accelerated attack of the surface of the component in case of erosion by hard particles. There is therefore a need to improve wear protection coatings.
On this basis, the present invention is based on the problem to provide a novel anti-wear coating.
This problem is solved in that the aforementioned wear protection coating is further developed by the features of the characterizing part of patent claim 1. According to the invention, an outer layer is formed as a smoothing layer, which compensates for unevenness or roughness and / or defects of the wear protection coating.
With the present invention, it is proposed to apply to the actual wear protection coating on the outside a smoothing layer which compensates for unevenness or roughness or even defects of the wear protection coating. This provides a highly smooth superfinish surface which results in a reduction in aerodynamic losses and contamination of the coated component counteracts. In addition, the erosion resistance can be improved. In addition, an improvement in the oxidation and corrosion resistance is expected.
Preferably, the smoothing layer is formed as a sol-gel layer, which has a thickness in the order of the unevenness or roughness and / or defects to be compensated.
Dabei zeigt:Preferred embodiments of the invention will become apparent from the dependent claims and the description below. Embodiments of the invention will be described, without being limited thereto, with reference to the drawings. Showing:
Fig. 1 einen stark schematisierten Querschnitt durch eine erfindungsgemäße Ver- schleißschutzbeschichtung nach einem Ausführungsbeispiel der Erfindung.1 shows a highly schematic cross-section through an inventive wear protection coating according to an embodiment of the invention.
The present invention relates to a wear protection coating, in particular an erosion protection coating, for a surface to be protected of a fluid mechanical stressed component, in particular a component of a gas turbine, such. B. a blade or vane of a gas turbine.
Fig. 1 zeigt einen stark schematisierten Querschnitt durch eine erfindungsgemäße Verschleißschutzbeschichtung 10, die auf eine äußere Oberfläche 11 eines strömungstechnisch beanspruchten Bauteils 12, insbesondere einer Gasturbinenschaufel, aufgebracht ist.1 shows a highly schematic cross-section through a wear-resistant coating 10 according to the invention, which is applied to an outer surface 11 of a fluidically stressed component 12, in particular a gas turbine blade.
An outer layer of the wear protection coating 10 according to the invention is designed as a smoothing layer 13, wherein the smoothing layer 13 compensates for unevenness or roughness and / or imperfections of the actual wear protection coating.
The smoothing layer 13 in this case has a thickness which is in the order of magnitude of the unevenness or roughness and / or defects to be compensated. The smoothing layer 13 preferably has a thickness between 1 .mu.m and 10 .mu.m. Preferably the thickness of the smoothing layer is between 5 μm and 10 μm. Alternatively, the thickness of the smoothing layer 13 may also be between 1 μm and 5 μm.
As already stated, the smoothing layer 13 forms the outer layer or layer of the wear protection coating according to the invention, wherein in the exemplary embodiment of FIG. 1 two multilayer systems 14, 15 are applied to the surface 11 of the component 12 to be coated, and wherein each multilayer system 14 15 comprises a relatively soft, metallic layer 16 and a relatively hard ceramic layer 17. The outer smoothing layer 13 is applied to the outer, relatively hard, ceramic layer 17 of the outer multilayer system 15.
The smoothing layer 13 of the wear protection coating according to the invention is designed as a sol-gel layer. For this purpose, a liquid phase, a so-called SoI, z. B. by dipping, spraying or brushing applied to the outer layer 17 of the outer multi-layer system 15 and then dried by tempering and cured.
During drying and curing, the liquid phase, namely the sol, transforms into a solid phase, into a so-called gel. The drying and curing can be combined with a heat treatment.
The application of the smoothing layer 13 formed as a sol-gel layer to the outer hard layer 17 of the multilayer system 15 has the advantage that the relatively hard layer 17 provides a supporting effect for the relatively thin sol-gel layer and thus the smoothing layer 13, which in particular supports the connection of the smoothing layer 13 under mechanical stress.
As the smoothing layer 13, there is preferably provided a silicate-based or carbon-based or metal oxide-based or polymer-based sol-gel layer. It is therefore within the meaning of the present invention as an outer layer of a wear protection coating to provide a smoothing layer 13, which compensates for unevenness or roughness and / or defects of the actual wear protection coating. The smoothing layer 13 is preferably formed as a sol-gel layer, with a thickness which is in the order of the unevenness or roughness and / or defects to be compensated. Particularly preferably, the smoothing layer 13 is used when the wear protection coating is formed from a plurality of multilayer coating systems, wherein the smoothing layer is then applied to the outer layer of the outer multilayer coating system.
