Abstract

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Detektion von Veränderungen eines Zeitabstands (ΔT) zwischen einem optischen (1) oder elektrischen Signal und einem optischen (3) oder elektrischen Referenzsignal unter Verwendung eines Photodetektors (5), eine Verwendung des Verfahrens zum Synchronisieren eines optischen (1) oder elektrischen Signals mit einem optischen (1) oder elektrischen Referenzsignal und eine Vorrichtung zur Durchführung des Verfahrens. Das Verfahren weist folgende Schritte auf:
- Empfangen des optischen Signals (1) und des optischen Referenzsignals (3) mit dem Photodetektor (5),
- Ausgeben eines elektrischen Antwortsignals (15) an einem Ausgang (13) des Photodetektors (5), wobei das elektrische Antwortsignal (15) ein Frequenzspektrum aufweist, das vom Zeitabstand (ΔT) abhängt,
- Filtern einer ausgewählten Harmonischen aus dem Frequenzspektrum des ausgegebenen elektrischen Antwortsignals (15),
- Detektieren von Veränderungen des Zeitabstands (ΔT) aus Veränderungen der Amplitude der ausgewählten Harmonischen.

The present invention relates to a method for the detection of changes in a time spacing (Δ T) between an optical (1) or electrical signal and an optical (3) or the reference electrical signal using a photodetector (5), a use of the method for synchronizing an optical (1) or electrical signal with an optical (1) or electrical reference signal and an apparatus for carrying out the method. The method comprises the following steps:
Receiving the optical signal (1) and the optical reference signal (3) with the photodetector (5),
Outputting an electrical response signal (15) at an output (13) of the photodetector (5), the electrical response signal (15) having a frequency spectrum which depends on the time interval (Δ T ),
Filtering a selected harmonic from the frequency spectrum of the output electrical response signal (15),
- Detecting changes in the time interval (Δ T ) from changes in the amplitude of the selected harmonics.
