Claims (12)
- Armchair comprising a seat and a backrest, the backrest having a backrest support (3) and a backrest panel (4), characterised in that the backrest support (3) has two armrest portions (3.1) and a central portion (3.2) bent upwards at an angle to said armrest portions, in that the backrest panel (4) is fixed in the upper region (4.1) thereof to the central portion (3.2) of the backrest support (4) and a lower region (4.2) thereof extends freely until it is close to the seat (1), in that the backrest support (3) is flexible and can deform, the angle between the armrest portions (3.1) thereof and the central portion (3.2) thereof increasing, when leant on by a person (10) sitting on the chair, and in that the backrest panel (4) is also flexible and the upper portion (4.1) thereof can move together with the central portion (3.2) of the backrest support (3) when the lower portion (4.2) thereof is positioned against the pelvis of the person (10) sitting on the chair.
- Armchair according to claim 1, characterised in that the backrest support (4) is sufficiently flexible that for a leaning force of 400 N, which is introduced into the backrest panel (4) centrally 40 cm above the seat (1), the angle between the armrest portions (3.1) and the central portion (3.2) is increased by at least 4 degrees.
- Armchair according to either claim 1 or claim 2, characterised in that the backrest panel (4) is sufficiently flexible that, when the angle between the armrest portions (3.1) and the central portion (3.2) is increased by 5 degrees, it presses against the pelvis of the person (10) sitting on the chair 10 cm above the seat (1) with no more than 20 N in the lower portion (4.2).
- Armchair according to any of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that it is a cantilever chair.
- Armchair according to any of claims 1 to 4, characterised in that it comprises a tubular frame (5) and in that end portions (5.1) of the tubular frame (5) are raised to the level of the armrests in the front region of the chair and connected edge-to-edge to the armrest portions (3.1) of the backrest support (3).
- Armchair according to any of claims 1 to 5, characterised in that the backrest support (3) is a single-piece injection-moulded plastics material part.
- Armchair according to any of claims 1 to 6, characterised in that the backrest panel (4) has a flexible support element (7) provided with cushioning.
- Armchair according to any of claims 1 to 6, characterised in that the support element (7) is a single-piece injection-moulded plastics material part.
- Armchair according to either claim 7 or claim 8, characterised in that the support element (7) has two lateral, bar-shaped spars (7.1) and rotatable lamellae (7.2) which extend between them and can be rotated about this longitudinal extent.
- Armchair according to claim 9, characterised in that the lamellae (7.2) branch towards the lateral spars (7.1) to form narrow articulation portions (7.3).
- Armchair according to claim 10, characterised in that adjacent articulation portions (7.3) of adjacent lamellae (7.2) unite towards the lateral spars (7.1) to form wider connecting portions (7.4).
- Armchair according to any of claims 9 to 11, characterised in that the lateral spars (7.1) and the lamellae (7.2) are flexible as regards the longitudinal extension thereof.
