Abstract

It is a pair of scissors equipped with two or more, preferably three, pairs of blades (2, 3, 4) which are integral with one another and with a single handle (8) and all of which pivo on the same point (5), so that by using the handle all the blades open and close simultaneously.

Description

Several-blade scissors for hairdresser
Technical Field
The present invention regards the technical field concerning the production of cutting instruments for hairdressers and in particular the production of scissors for hair cutting.
Background Art
Everybody knows ordinary cutting scissors made of a first-class double lever, whose fulcrum is in the central pivot. Due to the building features of the scissors, in order to increase the mechanical advantage while reducing the required stress, it is necessary to place the material to be cut as close as possible to the pivot itself. In some special types of scissors, the advantage is increased by using a very long handle that increases the length of the lever arm. The blades of the scissors are realized slightly curved, in order to improve the cutting. This particular feature makes the grinding difficult, since the grinding wheel has to follow an outline which is constantly changing. Nowadays the sharpening is performed by means of automatic machines.
The shape of the scissors has not changed much over the last century. The main innovations which have been introduced are the use of plastic instead of brass, the flat shape of the blades and the use of a rivet instead of the screw as a pivot.
What is certain is that all the scissors which are known so far have a single blade.
This is true for scissors in general but also, in particular, for hairdressing scissors.
In this particular technical field there exist several kinds of scissors too, especially for hair cutting. We thus know of scissors of different weight and size, with very long or thin blades or with serrate blades in order to realize particular kinds of haircut, but also in this technical field all the scissors have a single pair of blades.
In using such known types of scissors problems arise when one has to realize certain kinds of haircut.
By using traditional scissors any hairdresser who wants to make special haircuts, particularly the so called "V" haircut (also known as "cut point"), will get a very heavy haircut, since the emptying of the hair tips is very limited. On the other hand, if traditional scissors are used parallel to the hair, and not inclined as above, on thin hair an excessive emptying occurs, thus the esthetical outcome will be unsatisfying.
So the scissors known so far do not allow to realize certain kinds of haircut as their features constitute a limit to how they can be used.
Disclosure of invention
The aim of the present invention is to solve the aforesaid problems as well as others, by providing a pair of scissors which allow to realize "V" haircuts nimbly, to lighten the hair tips by thinning them out and to make many other modern haircuts easily and quickly.
The aforesaid and other aims are reached by means of the scissors which are the subject of this invention and whose essential features are the subject of the independent claims. Other features of the invention are the subject of the dependent claims.
The advantages resulting from the present invention basically consist in that it is possible to realize "V" haircuts easily and so that the haircut is light; the scissors can be used either inclined, to make "V" haircuts, or horizontally, to make traditional haircuts on the hair tips; their features make it possible to realize new kinds of haircuts which are unfeasible by using other types of scissors.
These and further advantages and characteristics of the present invention will be more and better understood by every technician specialist in this field thanks to the description hereafter and to the enclosed pictures, which are given as mere examples and not as exhaustive models. Reduced to their essential structure and with regard to the enclosed pictures, a pair of scissors which is in accordance with the present invention is characterised by the fact that it includes at least two, preferably three, parallel double blades which are integral with one another and with the handle so that they open and close at the same time. Advantageously, the scissors include a single handle integral with two or more double blades, preferably three double blades, which are parallel, integral with one another and such that they open and close at the same time. Advantageously, the aforesaid pairs of blades have different lengths. The invention includes a pair of scissors having a single handle which is integral with two or more pairs of blades, preferably three pairs, which are parallel, integral with one another and such that they open and close at the same time. The aforesaid three pairs of blades have different lengths.
Advantageously, an external pair of blades (2) is longer than the other two, the central pair (3) is shorter than the first one and longer than the third one and the third pair (4) is the shortest of the three. Thanks to this configuration, the plane which is tangential to the cutting ends of the three blades is inclined in relation to the plane which is orthogonal to a pair of blades, so that the scissors working on the aforesaid plane naturally cut half a "V", thanks to the fact that there are the aforesaid three pairs of blades (2, 3, 4). The different pairs of blades could also have the same length. In this case the scissors would not be used to make "V" haircuts, but could still allow to realize particular haircuts, there being several blades.
The pairs of blades have the same fulcrum (5), composed of one or more pivots linking the several blades and secured to the scissors by means of a screw (7). The blades are also integral with the handle of the scissors so that, whenever the handle is used to open or close the scissors, all the blades open and close at the same time.
In an implemental solution the central pair of blades is equipped with a handle and merged with the handle itself, whereas the external pairs of blades are added. In such solution as the aforesaid, in relation to the central blade the external pairs of blades are integral with the handle by means of linking elements. (6) connecting the end of a blade which is opposite its cutting end with the body of the handle and/or the body of another blade which is opposite the cutting end too. In this way all the blades move at the same time, thus constituting a single body along with the scissors. Advantageously, the pivots (5) and the linking elements (6) can be removed by means of screws or other devices, so that blades can be added to or removed from the central body of the scissors at will, according to the kind of haircut that is to be realised and therefore to the number of blades that are to be used. The pairs of blades which are added to the main one can be fixed or movable.
Advantageously, the handle of the scissors is on the same axis as the central pair of blades, but it could also be on the axis of an external pair of blades.
The hairdresser can choose to assemble his/her own scissors in the way he/she prefers, by placing the pair of medium blades in the centre and the other two, the one longer (2) and the other one shorter (4), at the ends of the scissors; otherwise he could use the pair of blades having the handle as an external blade and add to its right or to its left progressively shorter or longer blades. Or even, by a similar procedure, he could choose to add pairs of blades having the same length as the one provided with the handle.
Advantageously, the width of the blade may change as well as its thickness.
In an implemental solution, all the blades have the same width and thickness.
In a different implemental solution, all or some of the blades have different widths and thicknesses. In particular, some of the blades could be serrated or have otherwise designed edges in order that the style of the haircut is marked by special features.
In these latter solutions the difference in the size of the blades makes it possible to realize particular haircuts, thanks to the fact that the blades are different.
Advantageously, the blades are made of steel or any other material which is suitable for the aim.
In an implemental solution all the blades are made of the same material.
In a different implemental solution all or some of the blades are made of different materials. .
The scissors may be used either inclined or straight, parallel to the hair which needs cutting.
Advantageously, the scissors may be used with the pair of longer blades either in the upper part or in the lower part.
Advantageously, on one or both of the rings of the scissors there is a jutting part which has the function of making the blades close perfectly. Obviously, the invention is not limited to what has been described and explained, but it can be largely varied, especially with constructive results, without thus dropping the inventive directions as described above and claimed hereafter. Brief description of drawings
Fig. 1 displays an axonometric projection of the scissors at issue (1) and shows clearly the three blades (2, 3, 4); the pivots (5), which, while being kept still by the screw (7), connect them and on which the lever hinges; the linking elements (6) and the rings of the handle (8).
Fig. 2 displays the same as Fig. 1, but with the three blades open.
Fig. 3 displays the scissors closed as in a plan and Fig. 4 displays the scissors closed from a lateral view.
