Claims (8)

  1. Unit for agitating a liquid medium that includes or comprises a magnetic element (2) intended to be positioned at the bottom of a nonmagnetic container receiving the liquid medium to be agitated, and to agitate said medium by rotation upon itself under the action of a magnetic field rotating around a vertical axis generated by a source placed under said container, said agitation unit being fitted with a vertical axis of rotation (6), whereof the two ends are received on two flanges (3, 4) parallel with each other and secured to each other, the lower flange (3) resting on the bottom of said container, characterized:
    ■ in that the two flanges (3, 4) each have plane parts (18) intended to be parallel with each other in twos when the two flanges are assembled, and intended to promote the storage of the assembly constituted by said flanges and the magnetic element on its edge, when the agitation unit is not in use;
    ■ in that the lower flange (3) and the upper flange (4) are secured to each other reversibly by means of peripheral struts (5);
    ■ and in that the upper flange (4) is fitted with through apertures (9), intended to engage with the upper end of said struts (5), said apertures having a reversible locking point (12) to stabilize the assembly during use.
  2. Unit for agitating a liquid medium as claimed in claim 1, characterized in that the two flanges (3, 4) are substantially circular in shape.
  3. Unit for agitating a liquid medium as claimed in one of claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the lower flange (3) comprises on its face intended to come into contact with the bottom of the container feet (8) made of PTFE, and does so in the interests of avoiding direct contact between the lower flange and the bottom of the container.
  4. Unit for agitating a liquid medium as claimed in one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the vertical axis of rotation (6) of the agitation element (2) is received on bearings (14) provided inside the lower flange (3) and upper flange (4) respectively, said bearings being made to advantage of PEEK (PolyEthylEtherKetone).
  5. Unit for agitating a liquid medium as claimed in one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the magnetic element (2) is not parallelepiped but has substantially vertical extensions (20), extending from the lateral walls that define it, symmetrical to each other relative to the vertical axis of rotation (6).
  6. Unit for agitating a liquid medium as claimed in claim 5, characterized in that the base of the magnetic element (2) also comprises a blade (21), extending substantially horizontally, from the lateral face of said element opposite the substantially vertical extension (20).
  7. Unit for agitating a liquid medium as claimed in one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the agitation element (2) is substantially in the shape of a cross, and in that it has vertical extensions (20), symmetrical in twos relative to the vertical axis of rotation (6) of said element.
  8. Magnetic agitator including an agitation unit as claimed in one of claims 1 to 7, intended to agitate a liquid medium including a magnetic element (2) intended to be positioned at the bottom of a nonmagnetic container receiving the liquid medium to be agitated, and a source placed under said container, intended to generate a rotating magnetic field capable of inducing said magnetic element to rotate upon itself.
