Abstract
Description
- The invention relates to the field of technical tights for winter use, particularly appropriate if used for sports such as skiing, snowboarding, cycling etc..., or, more in general, if used as free time or physical activity articles for clothing, and so on.
- For outdoor activities or winter sports, typically skiing, it is known the use of the so-called leggings, both for men and women, which usually cover from the waist to the ankles.
- In addition to these leggings, quite heavy stockings or socks are usually worn.
US 5 603 232 A discloses a foot protector/stocking combination where the protector is worn underneath hosiery of any length and comprises terry knitting portions for providing protection only to a wearer's feet while providing the same appearance of a hosiery alone. - The invention is aimed to disclose a garment more practical and handy in comparison with the combined use of leggings and knee-socks, in particular for those who practise winter sports like skiing, snowboarding and so on.
- Considering that sport or physical activity garments are easily subject to wearing, or are aimed to protect from the continuous or unintentional contact with other garments (shoes, ski boots etc...), the invention has also the scope of realizing tights having a higher, specific resistance for a particular activities.
- Such aims are achieved by technical tights for winter use, as claimed in
claim 1. - The tights basically comprise leggings joined with two knee socks, having at least partially terry, or half terry, knitting, joined together as to create a whole item.
- The definition "generic knitting" refers to any knitting known to the state of the art and suitable for leggings: as a non-limitative example, some possible knittings are jersey knitting, false open-work, ribbing, honeycomb, tuck stitch, etc....
- The terry knitting is localized at least on part of the knee socks of the tights, according to the use. Preferably, said knitting is used for the parts that are supposed to be more stressed because of the rubbing and/or more subject to wearing.
- More In detail, the tights can be expressly manufactured in versions for a specific sport or an activity, like skiing, snowboarding, etc...with regions with terry knitting localized in the positions more stressed depending on the movements and possible equipment used for said sport or activity.
- The terry knitting can be provided also in certain regions of the upper part of the leggings socks. Thus, according to equivalent embodiments of the invention, the leggings part is realized only or mainly with generic knitting, but some regions (knees, groin, bottom-seat, etc...) are provided with terry knitting.
- The tights according to the invention can be manufactured with any kind of natural or synthetic knitting an by any method known in the textile sector (prior art). It can be also realized for men, women and kids.
- The article turns out to be really practical and a cosy technical garment both for free time or sport (activities).
- The advantages will be more evident from the following detailed description and with the help of the accompanying drawing
Fig. 1 , showing a non-limitative example of the tights according to the invention. -
Fig. 1 shows a pair of tights generally indicated bynumber 1, comprising a leggingsupper part 2, and a lower part ending with two knee-socks 3, knitted with the leggingsupper part 2 as to create a single article. -
Part 2 has a generic knitting, like jersey knitting, false open-work etc... - Knee-
socks 3 have at least partially terry knitting, localized according to the model and the use of the tights. - The example shows
regions 4 having terry knitting, or half terry knitting, andregions 5 having generic knitting;regions 4 are localized in zones (toes, heels, etc...) that are more subject to wearing, whileregions 5 correspond to the back of the toes and over the ankles. - Also the
leggings part 2 can be provided with terry knitting in certain zones. For example, the area around the knees, which is usually very stressed, can be reinforced by the terry knitting. - The upper part is provided with an elastic 6 that can be knitted or applied.
- The terry knitting, according to the prior art of the textile sector, can be obtained using the same thread of the generic knitting or even with additional thread.
- The tights according to the invention can be manufactured with any natural or synthetic material, using any pattern suitable for such kind of garment, e.g. designed or with jacquard pattern.
Claims (2)
- Technical tights (1) for winter use, comprising an upper leggings part (2) having mainly generic knitting, and a lower knee-socks part (3) realized, at least partially, with terry knitting, in which the lower knee-socks part (3) is provided with regions having terry knitting (4) and regions having generic knitting (5), characterized in that said upper leggings part (2) and said lower knee-socks part (3) are knitted together to form a single garment, and the regions having terry knitting are provided also in the upper leggings part (2).
- Technical tights according to claim 1, characterized in that the parts having terry knitting are localized depending on the supposed use for the same tights, and in particular in the zones more subject to wearing.
