Normalerweise sind die Vorderräder nicht in Bodenkontakt. Sie behindern daher den sitzenden Benutzer des Fahrzeugs nicht daran, sich zusammen mit dem Fahrzeug um die eigene Achse zu drehen. Die Erfindung gestattet es aber auch dem stehenden Benutzer, eine Drehung um die eigene Achse durchzuführen, denn mittels der genannten Antriebsmittel kann das Vorderteil des Fahrgestells verstellt werden, um die Mittenräder ausser Bodenkontakt zu bringen. Weil die Vorderräder separat voneinander antreibbar sind, können sie, wie sonst die Mittenräder, in einander entgegengesetzte Richtungen angetrieben werden, so dass der stehende Benutzer um die eigene Achse gedreht wird. Da die Mittenräder nicht in Bodenkontakt sind, stellen sie kein Hindernis für eine solche Drehung dar. Die erfindungsgemässe Konstruktion des Fahrzeugs hat weiter den Vorteil, dass sie relativ einfach ist, aber trotzdem gute Fahreigenschaften gewährleistet. Im Gegensatz zum Rollstuhl gemäss der

- e) Das Fahrzeug fährt mit den Hinterrädern über die Bordsteinkante. Falls die Hinterräder gefedert sind, können die Mittenräder bereits Bodenkontakt machen.
- f) Das Fahrzeug ist über die Bordsteinkante gefahren. Die Vorderräder sind nicht mehr in Bodenkontakt.

Claims (12)
- A vehicle having a central wheel drive in which the weight of a user is mainly supported by the central wheels, particularly a wheel chair or stand-up chair, the vehicle comprising a chassis (11) and a seat device (19) arranged on the chassis (11), the chassis having a front part (21) and a rear part (23) which are connected to each other in an articulated manner by a joint (25), and two central wheels (13) which can be motor-driven separately from each other, two front wheels (15) which can be motor-driven separately from each other and at least one rear wheel (17), characterized in that drive means (37, 37') are provided by means of which the front part (21) of the chassis (11) can be adjusted in relation to the rear part (23) in order to bring the central wheels (13) out of contact with the ground and the front wheels (15) into contact with the ground.
- The vehicle according to claim 1 characterized in that the front part (21) forms a two-armed lever, wherein the central wheels (13) are arranged at one arm (29) and the front wheels (15) are arranged on the other arm (31).
- The vehicle according to claim 2, characterized in that spring means (33), for example a spring joint element or a spring, are provided for biasing the front part (21) against a stop (35) on the rear part (23) in order to hold the front wheels (15) normally out of contact with the ground.
- The vehicle according to any one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that an auxiliary wheel (43) is provided behind the central wheel (13).
- The vehicle according to any one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that a common motor drive (27) is provided for the central wheel (13), the front wheel (15) and if appropriate the auxiliary wheel (43) of each side of the vehicle.
- The vehicle according to claim 5, characterized in that the central wheel (13), the front wheel (15) and if appropriate the auxiliary wheel (43) are operatively connected via an endless chain (45), an endless toothed belt, a toothed gearing, a cardan shaft or any other means.
- The vehicle according to any one of claims 1 to 6, characterized in that the rear wheel (17) is spring-mounted.
- The vehicle according to any one of claims 1 to 7, characterized in that two rear wheels (17) are provided and that two rear wheels (17) are arranged on a rocker (49) which is pivotable about a central pivot axis (S1).
- The vehicle according to claim 8, characterized in that a spring joint element serves as pivot axis (51).
- The vehicle according to any one of claims 1 to 9, characterized in that a motor (37'), for example a linear motor, which can be actuated by the user serves as drive means for adjusting the front part.
- The vehicle according to claims 1 to 9, characterized in that a stand-up mechanism for the seat device (19) and means for moving the stand-up mechanism from the sitting position to the standing position and vice versa are provided, and that the seat device (19) is coupled to the front part (21) of the chassis (11) by connecting means (37) for bringing the front wheels (15) into contact with the ground during the transition from the sitting position into the standing position.
- The vehicle according to claim 11, characterized in that a pull rod (37) or a cable pull serves as connecting means which connects the seat (41) to the arm (29) of the two-armed lever (21) supporting the central wheels (13).
