Definitions

  • the invention relates to a sales furniture.
  • WO 95/23542 A1 shows a portable refrigerated display case adapted to be positioned upon a shelf or other elevated support surface which includes a main housing defining an enclosed display area for displaying beverages or other food products and an integral refrigeration system.
  • the entire refrigeration system is self-contained within the display housing.
  • the evaporator portion is disposed within the display housing, with the remainder of the refrigeration system being disposed within a remotely positionable housing and connected to the evaporator portion by a pair of flexible hoses.
  • WO 2004/043210 A1 discloses a temperature controlled display case for food products requiring refrigeration suitable for use near high traffic consumer points-of-purchase.
  • the display case allows the food to be seen without opening the display case.
  • the temperature within the case is controlled using a thermostat and a thermoelectric device as a heat pump in conjunction with a single electrically operated motor connected to two sets of aluminum fins and air blowers. One blower circulates the temperature controlled within the display case thereby keeping all food at a uniform temperature.
  • GB 2374918 A shows a portable self-contained chilled food display unit in the shape of a box having upper and lower compartments separated by a shelf.
  • Food can be displayed and stored for periods of 2 hours or more in the upper compartment during which time the temperatures of the air and the shelf are controlled so that the temperature of the food does not rise above 5 °C.
  • the temperature is monitored by a sensor connected to electronics that operates an electric fan.
  • the lower compartment contains quantities of coolant that may have been placed in a domestic freezer for 6 hours or more so as to be at a temperature less than the prescribed temperature of 5 °C for the food.
  • Air is transferred from the upper compartment to the lower compartment by the fan. In the lower compartment, the temperature of the air is reduced through heat exchange with the coolant.
  • the cooled air then passes into the upper compartment through holes in the shelf. Heat exchange between the cooled air, shelf and food keeps the temperature of the food below 5 °C.
  • the fan automatically switches on and off at temperatures set electronically. Power to the fan, electronics and the temperature sensing circuit is provided by small batteries. When in use, the device is not connected physically to any source of external power.
  • the walls of the enclosure are constructed of material that offers thermal insulation sufficient to allow the device to operate for the maximum length of time.
  • the coolant may be refrigerated by using a Peltier device and a metal bar.
  • US 2005/136160 A1 discloses a temperature controlled case defines a space for storage of products and includes a cooling system to circulate a fluid to maintain a temperature of the products in the space.
  • a deck is provided within the space and has a stepped configuration to provide multiple product support surfaces configured to support the products.
  • At least one cooling element is coupled to the deck and receives a coolant from the cooling system so that the product support surfaces provide contact cooling to the products.
  • EP 1 547 492 A2 discloses as refrigerated merchandiser and a method for operating a refrigerated merchandiser.
  • the refrigerated merchandiser can include a case a first modular refrigeration unit, and a second modular refrigeration unit.
  • the first modular refrigeration unit can be removably coupled to the case in fluid communication with a first refrigeration zone to maintain the first refrigeration zone at a first temperature.
  • the second modular refrigeration unit can be removably coupled to the case in fluid communication with a second refrigeration zone to maintain the second refrigeration zone at a second temperature.
  • the method can include removably positioning the first modular refrigeration unit and the second modular refrigeration unit in the refrigerated merchandiser, and maintaining the first refrigerated zone at a first temperature and the second refrigerated zone at a second temperature.
