Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a fastening system for fastening an electrically conductive component, having a provided with an electrically insulating layer, a Bolzenfuß and a bolt shank having, the component receiving threaded bolt.
  • the present invention is concerned with the problem by means of a threaded bolt an electrically conductive connection between an electrically conductive member and another workpiece on which the threaded bolt is arranged electrically conductive to produce.
  • This problem occurs in particular in the automotive industry, wherein it is the workpieces to body parts, which are provided with the threaded bolts and then painted, after painting the electrically conductive connection, for example, must be made to a cable lug.
  • the German Utility Model G 93 12 678 U1 discloses a method which is common in the automotive industry. Bolts bolted with bolts are supplied, which are welded to the body parts and painted together with them. Then the cap nut is unscrewed, the respective cable lug attached and screwed the cap nut again, the cable lug is attached. The cap nut prevents during the painting that the bolt shaft is covered with an electrically insulating paint layer, which would prevent the electrically conductive contact between the body part and cable lug.
  • such a method is time-consuming and expensive and therefore expensive.
  • the DE 10 2006 034 501 A1 shows a fastening system for fastening an electrically conductive member (cable lug), with a provided with an electrically insulating layer, a bolt foot and a bolt shank having bolts, and a nut for attaching the cable lug to the bolt.
  • the "paint scratch nut” acts like a tap in this process, which poses the further problem that the bolt thread over its entire length, so from the tip to the bolt foot, scraped. Thus, the corrosion protection at the exposed tip and the exposed threads of the bolt shaft is lost, so that it must be covered with a cap or cap nut. This leads to a higher weight and rising costs.
  • the object of the present invention is therefore to develop a generic fastening system such that a reliable and durable electrical contact with the least possible effort can be achieved.
  • the fastening system comprises means which are arranged on the bolt shank in the region of the bolt foot cooperating with a nut and / or provided on the component, and that or the means penetrate the electrically insulating layer of the threaded bolt exclusively on the bolt shank in the region of the bolt foot and cause electrical contact between the threaded bolt and the component.
  • the inventive idea is therefore that the bolt shaft, which is fastened to a workpiece in an electrically conductive manner, is painted together with the workpiece and means are provided which ensure that the bolt shaft is scraped off only in the region of the bolt foot in order to restore the paint layer in this area remove and produce the electrically conductive connection between the workpiece and component reliably and permanently.
  • this inventive concept can be realized by means of two different, equally effective approaches.
  • the first approach is that a nut is provided which cooperates with a means located in the region of the bolt foot on the bolt shank to remove the lacquer layer in this area.
  • the second approach is that the component itself has means that are part of the fastening system according to the invention and remove the paint layer in the region of the bolt foot. A mother does not necessarily exist.
  • the fastening system according to the invention thus consists of components that can be manufactured and assembled inexpensively with little effort and therefore.
  • the complicated unscrewing and re-screwing a cap nut after the painting process is eliminated.
  • the producible with the fastening system according to the invention electrical connection is reliable and durable.
  • the lacquer layer on the upper, after assembly usually exposed area of the bolt shaft remains undamaged, so that it acts as an insulating and corrosion protection layer and the bolt shaft no longer needs to be covered as in the prior art with a cap or cap nut.
  • the first approach of the present invention in which a nut is provided which cooperates with a means arranged in the region of the bolt foot on the bolt shank, can, for example, be realized in that the means arranged on the bolt shank means is designed as a radial widening, with a radial Recess cooperates in the mother whose inner diameter is smaller at least one surface area than the outer diameter of the radial broadening.
  • the bolt shank is thus widened in the area of the bolt foot.
  • the nut is provided with a corresponding radial recess, which surrounds the radial widening during assembly. Due to the undersize, the lacquer layer is scraped off from the widened region and the electrical contact surface is exposed.
  • both nut and bolt are particularly simple and inexpensive to manufacture.
  • the radial recess in the nut may be interrupted by at least one vertical groove, so that the vertical edges of the groove act as scraper elements relative to the radial widening and thus expose the electrical contact surface.
  • Particularly suitable are two or more, in particular evenly distributed around the circumference of the radial recess grooves. With this design, in particular the scraping torque can be reduced or the desired preload force can be reliably achieved.
  • the radial broadening of the bolt shank can be designed in many ways to achieve the effect described above, for example. Out of round, knurled, polygonal or round. A particularly easy-to-manufacture embodiment of the radial broadening is the training as a circumferential collar. In a comparable manner, the radial recess in the nut can also be designed in different ways to achieve the described effect, for example, out of round, toothed or cylindrical.
  • the diameter of the internal thread of the nut is greater than the diameter of the external thread of the bolt shaft. This ensures particularly reliably that regardless of the thickness of the paint layer in an individual case, this remains intact when screwing the nut in the threaded portion of the bolt shaft and forms a reliable corrosion protection.
  • the component can be rotatably and captively connected to the mother.
  • the component may, for example, have an opening, on the inside of which at least two axially extending retaining tabs are formed, which engage in a circumferential undercut in the nut.
  • the component may also have at least two holding elements which engage around a peripheral collar provided on the nut or engage in a circumferential depression provided on the nut.
  • the component may also have a peripheral bead, which engages around the encircling collar or engages in the circumferential recess.
  • the second approach of the present invention in which the component itself has means which are part of the fastening system according to the invention and remove the paint layer in the region of the bolt foot, can, for example, be realized in that the means provided on the component than at the inside of an opening arranged, at least two claws are formed, which protrude radially into the opening, and that the clear width between the free ends of the claws is at least as large as the diameter of the bolt shaft in the region of the bolt foot. It follows that during the assembly of the component, the claws in the area of the bolt foot scrape along the thread of the bolt shaft. Since the component is received by the bolt shaft with its opening prior to assembly and essentially rests on the bolt foot, the paint layer on the bolt shaft remains undamaged in its upper region.
  • the assembly can be done with any suitable tool, eg. Mounting wrench, wrench, etc. Since the claws are wedged after the assembly process with the thread, it is not absolutely necessary to provide an additional nut for mounting the component on the threaded bolt, since the component automatically is held reliably on the bolt.
  • the use of a nut, for example as an assembly tool, is at the discretion of the user.
  • modifications with regard to the claw shape, the material combination of component, claws and bolt shank and the strength of the materials used in each case are conceivable, so that this embodiment of the fastening system according to the invention allows a particularly wide range of variations in terms of their physical properties.
  • the free ends of the claws are preferably aligned above the component in the direction of the bolt shaft. As a result, they are pressed particularly far down and in the attachment process and thus pressed particularly firmly into the thread of the bolt shaft.
  • the shape of the claws can be chosen freely and is at the discretion of the person skilled in the art.
  • the claws may be approximately S-shaped or Z-shaped in cross-section. But they can also be formed straight, which allows a particularly simple production.
  • the bolt shank can have a radial widening, which cooperates with the claws for producing the electrical contact between the threaded bolt and the component.
  • the radial broadening can be formed with or without thread.
  • recesses may be provided in the radial broadening to assist the wedging of the claws and so to obtain a particularly strong connection between the bolt shank and the component, which makes an additional backup, for example, by a mother dispensable.
  • the radial broadening may be formed as a circumferential collar.
  • the component in which the component itself has means which are part of the fastening system according to the invention and remove the paint layer in the region of the bolt foot, the component can also be rotatably and captively connected to a nut, if desired becomes.
  • the component may have at least two holding elements, which surround a nut provided on the circumferential collar or engage in a provided on the mother, circumferential recess.
  • the component may in particular have a fork-shaped, the bolt shank encompassing contact surface, which is easy to manufacture and is particularly easy to connect with the bolt shank.
  • the component is preferably designed as a cable lug, in particular for use in the automotive industry.
  • FIG. 1 shows an embodiment of a fastening system 10 according to the invention, which is also referred to as "ground pin” and here serves to bring a cable lug 50 into electrical contact with a workpiece 40, for example.
  • the fastening system 10 has a threaded bolt 11 which has a bolt shank 12 and a bolt foot 13.
  • the threaded bolt 11 is electrically connected with its bolt foot 13 to the workpiece 40, for example. Welded.
  • On the threaded bolt 11 is screwed as a further component of the fastening system 10, a nut 14.
  • the nut 14 serves to hold the cable lug 50 on the Bolzenfuß.
  • the threaded bolt 11 is fixed without the nut 14 on the body part 40. Subsequently, the body is painted together with the threaded bolt 11. Then the cable lug 50 is mounted and held by screwing the nut 14. The electrical contact between the cable lug 50 and the body part 40 must therefore extend from the cable lug 50 via the nut 14 from the nut thread to the bolt thread and over the bolt foot 13 into the body part. For this purpose, the paint layer has to be at least partially removed again from the bolt shank 12.
  • the fastening system 10 according to the invention is characterized in that the end of the bolt shaft 12 is exposed, that is not covered with a cap or cap nut.
  • FIG. 2 shows a first solution principle for the construction of the fastening system 10 according to the invention.
  • the threaded bolt 11 and the nut 14 cooperate in such a way that the paint layer is only removed in the region of the bolt foot 13 on the bolt shank 12.
  • Other forms of radial broadening 15 are of course also conceivable, for example.
  • the nut 14 is provided with a radial recess 16 formed in such a way that the described purpose is achieved, for example, cylindrical, non-round or serrated.
  • the inner diameter of the radial recess 16 is smaller than the outer diameter of the radial widening 15 at at least one surface area.
  • the radial recess 16 thus cooperates with the radial widening 15 such that its inner surface 17 acts like a scraping surface with respect to the outer surface of the radial widening 15 acts, leaving only in a selected area of the bolt shaft 12, namely in the vicinity the bolt foot 13, the paint layer is at least partially removed again and via a contact surface 18, an electrically conductive contact between the bolt shaft 12 and the nut 14 is made.
  • the radial recess 16 can be provided with at least one, preferably two or more vertical grooves 25 are provided whose vertical edges 26 act as scraping edges against the surface of the radial widening 15. Furthermore, it is advantageous if the diameter of the internal thread of the nut 14 is greater than the diameter of the external thread of the bolt shaft 12.
  • the dimensions of the fastening system 10 according to the invention selected substantially independently of the thickness of the paint layer in each case and both the ease of screw connection as well as the integrity of the protective lacquer layer in the upper region of the threaded bolt 12 are particularly easy to be guaranteed.
  • FIG. 3 shows a fastening system 10, which also the above in FIG. 2 realized first solution principle realized.
  • the component 50 in the embodiment of the cable lug, rotatably and captively held on the nut 14.
  • at least two axially extending retaining tabs 52 are formed on the inside of the opening 51 of the cable lug 50.
  • the nut 14 is provided with a circumferential undercut 19, in which the retaining tabs 52 engage.
  • FIG. 4 shows a second solution principle for the construction of the fastening system according to the invention 10.
  • the component 50 in the embodiment of the cable lug, so cooperates with the threaded bolt 11, that the paint layer is removed only in the region of the bolt foot 13 on the bolt shank 12.
  • the cable lug 50 which is held in the assembled state in the region of the Bolzenfußes 13, ie in the embodiment above the Bolzenfußes 13, provided on the inside of its opening 51 with at least two arbitrarily shaped, rectilinear in the embodiment in cross section, claws 21, the protrude radially into the opening.
  • the clear width between the free ends of the claws 21 is dimensioned such that when mounting the cable lug 50, ie when screwing the nut 14, the claws 21 cooperate with the bolt shank 12 in such a way that only in the selected area of the bolt shank 12, in the vicinity of the bolt foot 13, the lacquer layer is at least partially removed again and an electrically conductive contact between the bolt shank 12 and the component 50 is produced via contact surfaces 22.
  • the lacquer layer on the remaining area of the bolt shaft 12 remains undamaged, especially in the area of the bolt thread, in particular at the exposed end of the bolt shaft 12.
  • the claws 21 are bent at an angle from the plane of the opening 51 in the direction of the nut 14 so that their free ends are above the opening 51 of the cable lug 50.
  • the clear width between the free ends of the claws 21 is at least as large as the diameter of the bolt shaft 12 in the region of the bolt foot.
