Diejenigen Schlüssel 15, die mit dem Griff in Richtung der Ausgabekante transportiert werden, haben ihren Schwerpunkt bedingt durch den Schlüsselbart weiter hinten. Dadurch ragt das Griffstück des Schlüssels 15 weiter über die Ausgabekante hinaus, bis sie kippen. Der Sortierkeil 11 ist in Abstand und Höhe so angebracht, dass er die abkippenden Münzen von dem Schlüssel 15 trennt. Der Schlüsselschwerpunkt liegt beim Abkippen des Schlüssels 15 auf der Ausgabekante. Wenn der Schlüssel 15 kippt, befindet er sich bereits auf der Schräge des Sortierkeils 11. Da sich der Bart des Schlüssels noch in der Rinne 7 befindet, wird er so lange weitergefördert, bis sich der Schwerpunkt auf der Ausgabekante befindet.
