Definitions
- the present invention relates to a syringe device comprising a syringe body having a distal end equipped with an injection needle, at least one sleeve inside which this body is arranged, and a protective cap, adapted to occupy a protective position in which the cap is retained relative to the syringe body so as to cap the needle and to be removed from this body to clear the needle, the device comprising a non-return member, able to oppose a replacement of the cap in its protective position once the needle has been released.
- the sheath may be a simple support sheath, serving to maintain the syringe body in its interior. It may also be a safety device, in which case it may comprise a protective sleeve which, at the end of injection, is placed around the needle by a relative sliding of this sleeve and the syringe body, so that the user does not prick with this needle.
- the aforementioned sleeve may be this protective sleeve, or a support sleeve for holding the syringe body, in which case the support sleeve and the protective sleeve are slidable relative to one another. 'other.
- the syringe body used in the syringe device of the invention is in particular a pre-filled, disposable syringe body.
- a pre-filled, disposable syringe body In this case, it should be made sure before injecting that the syringe has not been used yet. In particular, it must be ensured that the needle could not have been contaminated by external contamination, either inadvertently or as a result of malice. For this, it is necessary that a syringe device that would have been used or whose needle was soiled does not appear as a syringe device "virgin" of any previous use.
- WO 2006/027445 provides to equip the protective sleeve of tabs which, at rest, define an opening smaller than that of the cap, so as to prevent easy replacement of the cap. It's the same for EP 1,532,997 and WO 03/077977 .
- FR 2,762,790 recommends the use of petals forming tongues which, at rest, define a diameter greater than that of a groove in which these petals must be engaged to allow the introduction of the cap.
- This device of the prior art does not give any satisfaction because, depending on the number of tongues, it is possible, manually, all compel them to deviate or even break one or more of them to return the hood in place.
- the invention aims to improve this state of the art by choosing the structure of the non-return member to make the replacement of the cap almost impossible, or at least significantly more difficult.
- the non-return member comprises an elastic lip which is integral with one of the elements constituted by the sleeve and the cap and which forms a closed ring, said lip being elastically constrained when the cap is in its protective position and adopting in the free state, when the cap is away from the body, a configuration adapted to oppose the replacement of the cap in the protective position.
- This elastic lip can be easily attached to the element that carries it by overmolding, gluing, or any other permanent attachment means. It is therefore very easy to manufacture and set up, while constituting a simple and effective way to oppose a replacement of the cap once it has been removed to clear the needle.
- the elastic lip of the invention effectively opposes repositioning the cap. The user can therefore easily check before a first use, if the cap is correctly in place or not, a non-replacement indicating a prior use or staining of the needle.
- the cap cooperates by fitting with the distal end of the sheath and, in the free state, the elastic lip has diametrical dimensions opposing this fitting.
- the lip may be integral with the cap, in which case its diametral dimensions in the free state may be too large to allow fitting into the sleeve. It may, on the contrary, be integral with the sheath, in which case its diametral dimensions in the free state may be too small to allow insertion of the cap by fitting into the distal end of the sheath.
- the free end of the elastic lip is thinned.
- the lip may have a section substantially in the form of a comma.
- the sheath is a support sleeve with respect to which the syringe body is retained.
- the sleeve is a protective sleeve, the syringe body and the protective sleeve being able to slide relative to each other so as to occupy a waiting position, in which the free end of the needle protrudes from the sheath and a protective position in which the sheath is arranged around the free end of the needle.
- the device comprises a support sleeve with respect to which the syringe body is retained, and a protective sleeve, the syringe body and the protective sleeve being able to slide relative to each other, so as to occupy a waiting position in which the free end of the needle protrudes with respect to the protective sleeve and a protective position in which the protective sleeve is disposed around the free end of the needle.
- the sheath is advantageously formed by one of the elements constituted by the support sleeve and the protective sleeve.
- the device represented on the Figures 1 and 2 comprises a syringe body 10 in which a piston 12 is slidable by being inserted into this body from its proximal end 10A. At its distal end 10B, the body is equipped with an injection needle 14.
- the syringe body is for example plastic or glass.
- the proximal end of an element is the one that is closest to the fingers of a user performing an injection with the device, while the distal end is the opposite end.
- the syringe device is a safety device, of the type described in the patent application.
- PCT WO 03/068298 comprises an outer support sleeve 16 with respect to which the syringe body 10 is retained, and an inner protective sleeve 18 which, at the end of injection, can slide between the outer support sleeve and the syringe body to be placed around the needle 14 and thus protect the user against unfortunate punctures.
- the figures show the protective sleeve in the retracted position inside the support sleeve.
- the syringe body has a radial collar 20 which is wedged between, on the one hand, two shoulder portions 22A and 22B belonging to a proximal portion 16A of the support sleeve and, on the other hand, resilient retaining tabs 23A and 23B also belonging to this portion 16A.
- the protective sleeve 18 has, at its proximal end, retaining tabs 24A and 24B which are attached to shoulder surfaces 26A and 26B of the proximal portion 16A of the support sleeve.
- a return spring 28 is disposed between an inner shoulder 29 of the protective sleeve 18 and the internal faces 22'A and 22'B of the shoulders 22A and 22B of the portion 16A of the sleeve 10.
- actuating tabs 31A and 31B are integral with the portion 16A.
- the support sleeve may be the only sleeve and, in itself, serve for protection, for example by allowing a recoil of the syringe body relative to this sleeve at the end of injection.
- the device of the invention is applicable to any type of syringe device in which a syringe body is disposed inside a sheath, whether this sheath is used or not to provide protection.
- the sheath within the meaning of the invention may for example be constituted by the support sleeve or well by the protection sleeve which has just been described, when the device comprises a protective arrangement.
- the sheath in the sense of the invention can be constituted by a simple support sleeve.
- the device of the invention comprises a protective cap 40 which, in these figures, is shown in its protective position in which it is retained relative to the syringe body so as to cap the needle 14.
- this cap comprises an inner cap portion 41 which is fitted around the distal end 10B of the syringe body and whose only opening is that which defines its fitting edge 41A located at its proximal end.
- this portion of inner cap 41 has a relative elasticity, allowing it to be naturally retained by hooking behind a slight bulge 10'B of the distal end 10B of the syringe body 10.
- the cap also has an outer portion of cap 42 which is integral with the inner portion 41.
- the outer portion 42 has side windows 42A, 42B, which are diametrically opposed and in which is locked a portion 41A of the portion 41, this section 41A presenting for this purpose an enlarged diameter. Between the windows 42A and 42B, the wall 42C of the outer portion 42 is thinned.
- cap is an element that comes to cap the needle and thus has, overall, a form of cap adapted to this function. It can be in one part or in several parts. It also has a conformation allowing its removable attachment with the distal end of the syringe body.
- the device of the invention comprises a non-return member which opposes a replacement of the cap 40 in its protective position once the needle has been released, that is to say once this The cap has been separated from the syringe body to allow access to the needle, particularly for injection.
- This non-return member comprises an elastic lip. More specifically, in the embodiment shown on the Figures 1 to 4 , an elastic lip 50 is secured to an end portion 18A of the protective sleeve 18. It can be seen on the Figures 1 to 3 that when the cap 40 is in its protective position, the free end 50A of the lip is in abutment against the outer periphery 40A of the cap.
- the cap 40 has been disengaged, and the free end 50A of the lip 50 has naturally, under the effect of its elasticity, taken up a configuration in the free state in which it delimits diametral dimensions D1 less than the diametral dimensions D2 that presents the outer periphery of the cap in its zone of engagement with the sleeve (in this first embodiment, the sleeve is the protective sleeve 18).
- the lip 50 opposes this restoration.
- the syringe body is initially pre-equipped with the cap 40 and that the syringe body and the cap have maximum diametrical dimensions for insertion into the assembly consisting of the support sleeve and the protective sleeve. by the proximal end of these sleeves, in the direction of the arrow I indicated on the figure 3 .
- the lip 50 does not oppose this installation, but the insertion of the syringe body and the cap into the sleeves elastically separates this lip to constrain elastically expanding so that its free end 50A comes to press against the outer wall of the cap.
- the elastic lip 60 is secured to the distal end portion 16A of the support sleeve 16.
- the free end 60A of the lip bears against the outer periphery 40A of the cap 40 when the cap is in its protective position, before a first use of the device.
- This lip is then curved more than in the example of Figures 1 to 4 to fill the gap corresponding to the thickness of the inner protective sleeve 18.
- the cap has been removed so that the needle 14 is disengaged, and it can be seen that the free end 60A of the lip 60 delimits diametral dimensions D1 smaller than the diametral dimensions D2 that the outer periphery of the cap has in its zone of engagement with the sleeve 16, so that this lip is opposed to the replacement of the cap.
- the elastic lip 70 is integral with a proximal end portion 40'B of the cap 40 '.
- this cap has the shape of a simple cap, and is made in one piece. Its shape is generally similar to that of the inner portion 41 of the cap 40 described in the preceding figures, except that its proximal end carries the aforementioned lip.
- the cap is retained relative to the syringe body being force-fitted around the distal end 10B of this body, being retained by a slight effect of attachment of its inner bead 41 'in an annular groove 10' B of said distal end 10B.
- the lip 70 is constrained in the direction of a reduction of its diametral dimensions. Indeed, its free end 70A bears against the inner periphery 18C of the protective sleeve 18.
- the lip 70 elastically regains its configuration in the free state, in which its free end 70A delimits diametral dimensions D3 greater than the diametral dimensions D4 that the inner periphery has. 18C of the protective sleeve 18 in its engagement zone with this lip. Consequently, it is no longer possible to grip the proximal end of the cap 40 'inside this sleeve. If it is sought to force the establishment of the cap, the lip 70 tends to turn on itself and then forms, on the edge of the cap, an extra thickness that opposes the fitting of the cap at the end of the device .
- the free end 70A of the lip 70 cooperates with the inner periphery of the protective sleeve 18 when the cap is in its protective position.
- the protective sleeve is less advanced towards the distal end.
- the sheath which bears the elastic lip may be the support sleeve or the protective sleeve.
- the elastic lip is advantageously made of plastic material conferring on it the required elasticity. This is for example a material of the elastomer or rubber type.
- the lip 70 can be made in one piece with the rest of the cap 40 ', by a one-piece molding (in which case the entire cap is made of the same material), or reported on this cap, for example by overmolding or collage.

Description
The present invention relates to a syringe device comprising a syringe body having a distal end equipped with an injection needle, at least one sleeve inside which this body is arranged, and a protective cap, adapted to occupy a protective position in which the cap is retained relative to the syringe body so as to cap the needle and to be removed from this body to clear the needle, the device comprising a non-return member, able to oppose a replacement of the cap in its protective position once the needle has been released.
Devices of this type are known. The sheath may be a simple support sheath, serving to maintain the syringe body in its interior. It may also be a safety device, in which case it may comprise a protective sleeve which, at the end of injection, is placed around the needle by a relative sliding of this sleeve and the syringe body, so that the user does not prick with this needle. In this case, the aforementioned sleeve may be this protective sleeve, or a support sleeve for holding the syringe body, in which case the support sleeve and the protective sleeve are slidable relative to one another. 'other.
The syringe body used in the syringe device of the invention is in particular a pre-filled, disposable syringe body. In this case, it should be made sure before injecting that the syringe has not been used yet. In particular, it must be ensured that the needle could not have been contaminated by external contamination, either inadvertently or as a result of malice. For this, it is necessary that a syringe device that would have been used or whose needle was soiled does not appear as a syringe device "virgin" of any previous use.
This device of the prior art does not give any satisfaction because, depending on the number of tongues, it is possible, manually, all compel them to deviate or even break one or more of them to return the hood in place.
The invention aims to improve this state of the art by choosing the structure of the non-return member to make the replacement of the cap almost impossible, or at least significantly more difficult.
This object is achieved thanks to the fact that the non-return member comprises an elastic lip which is integral with one of the elements constituted by the sleeve and the cap and which forms a closed ring, said lip being elastically constrained when the cap is in its protective position and adopting in the free state, when the cap is away from the body, a configuration adapted to oppose the replacement of the cap in the protective position.
This elastic lip can be easily attached to the element that carries it by overmolding, gluing, or any other permanent attachment means. It is therefore very easy to manufacture and set up, while constituting a simple and effective way to oppose a replacement of the cap once it has been removed to clear the needle.
The lip forming a closed ring, and therefore continuous, it is necessary, to make its diameter compatible with the replacement of the cap, change this diameter uniformly. This is almost impossible by manual solicitation since the fingers can not uniformly surround such a lip all around its periphery to uniformly change its diameter.
To use the device or to stain the needle, it is necessary to separate the cap from the syringe body and to disengage the needle. Once this is done, the elastic lip of the invention effectively opposes repositioning the cap. The user can therefore easily check before a first use, if the cap is correctly in place or not, a non-replacement indicating a prior use or staining of the needle.
Advantageously, the cap cooperates by fitting with the distal end of the sheath and, in the free state, the elastic lip has diametrical dimensions opposing this fitting.
As will be seen in the following, the lip may be integral with the cap, in which case its diametral dimensions in the free state may be too large to allow fitting into the sleeve. It may, on the contrary, be integral with the sheath, in which case its diametral dimensions in the free state may be too small to allow insertion of the cap by fitting into the distal end of the sheath.
Advantageously, the free end of the elastic lip is thinned.
This improves the elastic return properties of the lip by ensuring that its thicker portion is integral with the element that carries it. The lip may have a section substantially in the form of a comma.
Advantageously, the sheath is a support sleeve with respect to which the syringe body is retained.
In a variant, advantageously, the sleeve is a protective sleeve, the syringe body and the protective sleeve being able to slide relative to each other so as to occupy a waiting position, in which the free end of the needle protrudes from the sheath and a protective position in which the sheath is arranged around the free end of the needle.
It is advantageous that the device comprises a support sleeve with respect to which the syringe body is retained, and a protective sleeve, the syringe body and the protective sleeve being able to slide relative to each other, so as to occupy a waiting position in which the free end of the needle protrudes with respect to the protective sleeve and a protective position in which the protective sleeve is disposed around the free end of the needle.
In this case, the sheath is advantageously formed by one of the elements constituted by the support sleeve and the protective sleeve.

Within the meaning of the present invention, the proximal end of an element is the one that is closest to the fingers of a user performing an injection with the device, while the distal end is the opposite end.
The mechanism that has just been described to ensure the safety of the device by surrounding the needle at the end of an injection has been only as an example. In general terms, it is possible to use for protection any type of device comprising a support sleeve with respect to which the syringe body will be retained and a protective sleeve, these sleeves being arranged in such a way that, at the end of the injection, the protective sleeve and the syringe body are slidable relative to one another for protection of the needle. For example, it is possible for the assembly consisting of the syringe body and the support sleeve to move back in the direction from the distal end to the proximal end at the end of an injection to retract the needle. in the distal end of the protective sleeve. The support sleeve may be the only sleeve and, in itself, serve for protection, for example by allowing a recoil of the syringe body relative to this sleeve at the end of injection.
In general, the device of the invention is applicable to any type of syringe device in which a syringe body is disposed inside a sheath, whether this sheath is used or not to provide protection. As will be seen in the following, the sheath within the meaning of the invention may for example be constituted by the support sleeve or well by the protection sleeve which has just been described, when the device comprises a protective arrangement.
When this is not the case, the sheath in the sense of the invention can be constituted by a simple support sleeve.
Of course, other forms of cap are possible. The cap is an element that comes to cap the needle and thus has, overall, a form of cap adapted to this function. It can be in one part or in several parts. It also has a conformation allowing its removable attachment with the distal end of the syringe body.
The device of the invention comprises a non-return member which opposes a replacement of the

In the example just described, the

The elastic lip is advantageously made of plastic material conferring on it the required elasticity. This is for example a material of the elastomer or rubber type.
