Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a device for cleaning a submerged surface in a liquid, and in particular an automatic pool cleaning device with a low power pump.
  • the present invention also relates to the use of said device for cleaning submerged surfaces in a liquid, such as the bottom, the walls, the submerged beach and the water line of a pool.
  • a device for cleaning a surface submerged in a liquid can be used to clean and / or remove all types of debris, such as leaves, insects or various dirt, which can be found for example in the pool of a pool when using it.
  • Various automatic pool cleaning devices are known in the state of the art.
  • the cleaning of a swimming pool can be done by a process using the return of water or a process using the suction of the pool pump.
  • these devices comprise either a hammer system (flap valve), or a so-called membrane system.
  • they suck water and dirt from the water by simply connecting to a broom or skimmer (water inlet with non-return directing water to the filter) of the pool.
  • the document FR 2,302,151 describes an automatic pool cleaner.
  • This device comprises a cleaning head having a peripheral region which can be engaged on the surface to be cleaned and disengage therefrom; two suction passages opening into said head through two valve seats; and a flapper valve for automatically transferring liquid flow through the passages, alternately and repeatedly from one passage to the other.
  • This device may also include an intermediate piece located in front of the flapper.
  • this apparatus has the disadvantage of not suitable for small and medium size pools using a low power pump, that is to say of the order of 100 watts or less.
  • the document US6,298,513 describes a pool cleaning robot also comprising two parallel or non-parallel ducts, one of whose ends is connected to a flexible vacuum hose, itself connected to the filter pump of the swimming pool.
  • the other end of the ducts is served by intermittently aspirated water through a flapper mounted on a pivot that can be turned on by itself. Thanks to the reciprocating movement of the flapper valve providing water to the two ducts, kinetic forces are generated that allow the robot to move on the surface of the pool.
  • the cleaning robot as described in this document is also characterized by a large suction orifice (water passage): the thickness of the flapper valve does not exceed 70% of the suction port.
  • the robot as described in this document aims to collect and suck up dust but also large debris, leaves to the filtration system of the pool. This is why in this device, there is no intermediate piece in front of the valve.
  • This device usually requires the use of powerful pump, about 600 Watts, to be achievable.
  • it has the disadvantage of quickly fouling the filtration system of the pool, especially if it is a cartridge filtration, since it sucks leaves and other debris.
  • WO 2005/038170 discloses a cleaning device having all the features of the preamble of claim 1.
  • the present invention aims to propose a new cleaning device that avoids all or part of the aforementioned drawbacks.
  • the subject of the invention is a device for automatically cleaning a submerged surface in a liquid, intended to be connected to a pump, comprising: a hollow head having a seat, first and second suction ducts opening into said hollow head, the seat delimiting a space in which is housed a flapper valve, said flap valve being adapted to cooperate with said seat in order to adopt first and second closing positions in which it closes respectively the first and second suction ducts during operation of said device, characterized in that a prefilter is arranged in the hollow head so as to avoid blockage flapper flap by possible debris in said space.
  • the ratio between the width of the valve and the width of said space at a section (S) of said space is greater than 70%.
  • the velocity of the water passing between the seat and the flap valve is increased so that said device does not require a high power pump (for example of the order of 600 Watts) to operate. .
  • a high power pump for example of the order of 600 Watts
  • it can operate with a power pump of the order of 100 watts or less.
  • the use of a prefilter in parallel avoids blocking the flapper valve by possible debris.
  • said seat has first and second faces
  • said valve also have first and second faces, said first faces, respectively said second faces cooperating together to alternately close the suction ducts.
  • the angle between the first and second faces of the flap valve is adjustable.
  • This feature allows to vary the thickness of the valve, that is to say the spacing between the first and second faces of said valve as a function of the power of the pump.
  • said valve is at least partially hollow.
  • the valve comprises a spacer arranged between its first and second faces.
  • the length of said spacer is adjustable.
  • section (S) is perpendicular to the bisector (B) of the first and second faces of the seat.
  • the hollow head has a flat surface intended to face the immersed surface, the first and second suction ducts having an inclination between 20 ° and 30 °, preferably of the order of 25 °, relative to at the plane of the flat surface.
  • said device can operate in shallow water.
  • the invention also relates to the use of said device according to one of the preceding characteristics for cleaning the submerged surfaces of a swimming pool, such as the bottom, the walls, the submerged beach and the water line. swimming pool.
  • an automatic cleaning device 1 of a surface submerged in a liquid such as for example the walls of a swimming pool, comprises a hollow head 2 composed of a cover generally made of plastic, a flap valve 4 and two ducts. suction 5a, 5b.
  • Said hollow head 2 comprises said flap valve 4, a retaining grid 10 and a pre-filter 9, all of which are enclosed under the hood of the hollow head 2, and a suction head 3 intended to be in contact with the surface to be sealed. clean.
  • Said flat surface suction head 3 is composed of a non-return valve 6 having an orifice 7, to form a passage for dust and other dirt on the surface to be cleaned.
  • the suction head also comprises a flexible sealing flange 8 of elongate shape.
  • Said flexible sealing flange 8 has the main function of unhooking and conveying to the orifice 7 the dust particles or other debris from the surface to be cleaned. This flange 8 is arranged so as to encircle the end of the suction head 3 and thus the non-return valve 6.
  • the hollow head 2 comprises, disposed in its hood and above the suction head 3, a retention grid 10. More particularly, this retention grid 10 is disposed in the hollow head 2 so that the debris and the sucked water systematically pass after their aspiration in the suction head 3 by said grid 10. It is fixed in and to the hollow head 2 for example by clipping.
  • This retaining grid 10 may have a substantially cylindrical shape and more particularly a bell shape whose lower end is open and facing the suction head 3, while the upper end, intended to be turned towards the valve 4, is pierced by orifices so as to pass the flow of sucked water.
  • pre-filter 9 such as a fine mesh sieve, preferably a removable metal screen, said pre-filter 9 conforming to the shape of said retaining grid 10.
  • pre-filter 9 thus has the function of ridding the water sucked from the pool not only large debris that may be found at the bottom thereof, such as mud particles, possibly sheets ... but also finer particles ( dust ).
  • a prefilter such as the screen 9 thus has the advantage not only of preventing the blocking of the flapper valve by debris within the hollow head 2, but also of solving the problem of fouling. premature filter cartridge pool when it is provided.
  • the cartridge filter is usually installed behind the skimmer of the pool, it filters the water of its impurities thanks to its cartridge in synthetic material.
  • the hollow head 2 also has under its hood a seat 11.
  • the suction ducts 5a, 5b are as shown on the Figures 1 and 2 parallel to each other. They each comprise a lower end 5a1, 5b1 which opens into the hollow head 2 and more particularly at the seat 11, while their upper end 5a2, 5b2 is connected to a common suction pipe (not shown) with a connection three-way 13, for example by means of a flexible suction pipe (not shown).
  • the common suction pipe is intended to be connected to the suction pump of a pool.
  • the ducts 5a, 5b are preferably inclined at an acute angle, preferably of the order of 20 ° to 30 ° and even more preferably of the order of 25 ° relative to the surface to be cleaned.
  • This feature has the advantage of operating the cleaning device 1 in shallow water.
  • the flapper valve 4 is held at the hollow head 2 and more particularly at the seat 11 during operation of the cleaning device 1 by the pressure of the water. Similarly, the pressure of the water will allow the flap valve 4 to oscillate in said seat 11.
  • the flap valve 4 has a shape that allows it to cooperate with said seat 11 so as to adopt a first (for example as shown in FIG. figure 1 ) and a second closing position (for example as shown in FIG. figure 2 ) in which it closes respectively in operation, the conduits 5b, then 5a. According to the different closure positions, the flap valve 4 allows a passage of water in the interstices 12a, 12b which communicate respectively with the lower end 5a1 and 5b1 of the suction ducts 5a, 5b.
  • the flapper valve 4 also having first 4a and second 4b faces which respectively cooperate with the first 11a and second 11b faces of the seat 11.
  • the flapper valve 4 has a substantially triangular section, as the seat 11.
  • the flapper valve 4 may be partially hollowed out or not.
  • the ratio between the width T of the flap valve 4 and the width W of the seat 11 at a section S of said seat and more particularly at a section perpendicular to the bisector B of the faces 11a, 11b of the seat is greater than or equal to 70%, preferably of the order of 75% to 85% and even more preferably of the order of 77% to 80%.
  • This last feature has the advantage that the passage of water in the interstices 12 is reduced, resulting in an increase in the velocity of the sucked water passing through said interstices 12. Therefore, it is not necessary with said device 1 according to the present invention to use a suction pump of high power, that is to say of the order of 600 Watts. A pump with a power of about 100 Watts or less allows the cleaning device to operate. However, small and medium sized pools are often equipped with low power pumps. Said device 1 can thus easily be used in this type of pool.
  • flap valve widths such as those shown in FIGS. Figures 4 and 5 may be suitable for the device 1 according to the present invention.
  • valves 41 and 42 are at least partially hollowed out.
  • Each valve 41, 42 further comprises a pivot 14, 114 respectively, arranged to join the first and second faces 41a, 42a, 41b, 42b of said valves 41, 42.
  • the valve 41, 42 comprises between its first 41a, 42a and 41b, 42b seconds faces a spacer 50 whose length can be adjustable or pre-set.
  • the spacer 50 may correspond to a bar whose size is chosen to obtain the proper spacing and which arises between the two faces 41a and 41b of the valve 41 so as to form a cross member.
  • the spacer 50 is also located between the faces 42a and 42b of the valve 42 so as to form a cross member, but at one of their ends, more precisely at the end opposite the pivot 114.
  • one of the faces of the valve 42 here the face 42b is shorter than the other 42a and the spacer 50 consists of two parts 50a, 50b, so as to be able to assemble the one to the other by fastening means, such as by the screw / nut system 52.
  • the parts 50a and 50b each have orifices 51 able to be juxtaposed in order to receive a fastening means (screws /nut).
  • This feature has the advantage of adapting the width T of the flap valve 41, 42 to allow the use of said device in pools with pumps of different powers.
  • the skilled person will be able to adjust the length of the piece distance depending on the power of the pump that equips the pool to clean.
  • the cleaning device may also be partially or entirely moldable plastic.
  • the hollow head 2 and the flapper valve 4, 41, 42 may be molded in polyurethane.
  • the user will have to connect the connector 13, itself connected to another flexible hose (not shown in the figures) at the pump / skimmer connection or to the brush socket of the swimming pool. Once connected to the pool pump, the pool water will be sucked through the device 1 disposed flat on the surface to be cleaned.
  • the device 1 when the device 1 is connected to the pump of the pool, it will generate a suction at the inlet of the connector 13 causing the suction of water at the orifice 7 of the valve of no return 6 of said device 1. Then the water will rise, still under the suction suction, by the retaining grid 10 also passing through the prefilter 9, as a sieve before going to join the space left vacant under the hood of the hollow head 2.
  • the weight in the hollow head 2 will maintain said device 1 against the ground and subsequently, the high suction of the water flow between the flexible flange 8 and the soil will cause the displacement of aggregates, debris (leaves, sludge particles). Certainly located at the bottom of the pool.
  • the flapper valve 4 covers a large portion of the seat 11, the water passage left vacant 12a will be very narrow, thereby increasing the velocity of the water flowing in said gap 12a.
  • This allows a pool pump of the order of 100 watts or less to animate an automatic cleaning system by which water will then be brought to the pump and pool filter before returning, once "washed” by the classic circuit.
  • valve 4 will be directed to the face 11b of the seat 11 and a new operating cycle will start.
  • the user at the end of operation can easily remove the debris collected on the prefilter 9.
