Definitions
- the invention relates to a fuel injection valve device for injecting fuel into a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine, with a valve needle which controls the opening of at least one injection port by its longitudinal movement, and with a control chamber whose pressure acts at least indirectly on the valve needle and by an inlet with a High pressure channel communicates.
- the object of the invention is to provide a robust, low-wear fuel injection valve device according to the preamble of claim 1, which allows the injection of very small quantities and / or multiple injections.
- the object is with a fuel injection valve device for injecting fuel into a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine, with a valve needle which controls the opening of at least one injection port by its longitudinal movement, and with a control chamber whose pressure acts at least indirectly on the valve needle and by an inlet with a high-pressure channel is in connection, solved in that a latency piston is arranged in the inlet, that the latency piston, when the pressure in the control chamber drops, so moved into the control chamber that the volume of the control chamber decreases. As the latency piston engages the control chamber, the pressure in the control room remains approximately constant. Thus, the fuel injector device gains latency without reducing the needle opening speed.
- a preferred embodiment of the fuel injection valve device is characterized in that the latency piston comprises an inlet channel and is movable against the spring force of a latency spring into the control chamber.
- the inlet channel preferably extends through the latency piston but may also be, for example be formed by a groove in the latency piston or in a receiving space for the latency piston.
- a further preferred embodiment of the fuel injection valve device is characterized in that the latency piston comprises an inlet throttle.
- the inlet throttle is formed by a bottleneck in the inlet channel.
- the control chamber is filled with high-pressure fuel.
- a further preferred embodiment of the fuel injection valve device is characterized in that the latency piston is dimensioned so that it, when the pressure in the control chamber drops, moves into the control chamber before the valve needle opens. So that the latency piston opens in front of the valve needle or moves into the control chamber, the associated differential pressure must be low.
- a further preferred exemplary embodiment of the fuel injection valve device is characterized in that the latency piston is dimensioned so that it moves out of the control chamber after the closing of the valve needle when the pressure in the control chamber rises.
- the movement of the latency piston out of the control room is effected or supported by the latency spring.
- Another preferred embodiment of the fuel injection valve device is characterized in that a stroke stop is provided for the movement of the latency piston into the control chamber.
- a stroke stop is provided for the movement of the latency piston into the control chamber.
- a further preferred embodiment of the fuel injection valve device is characterized in that the latency piston is movably arranged in a recess connected to the inlet.
- the recess is provided, for example, in a valve body or throttle plate.
- a further preferred embodiment of the fuel injection valve device is characterized in that the latency period piston coaxially movable to the valve needle and against the spring force of a clamped between the latency piston and the needle valve closing spring.
- the latency spring is combined with the closing spring of the nozzle needle, so that a single spring cooperates both with the latency piston and with the nozzle needle, which is also referred to as a valve needle.
- a further preferred embodiment of the fuel injection valve device is characterized in that the latency piston is movably guided in a recess of the valve needle connected to the inlet.
- the recess is preferably provided in the combustion chamber remote end of the valve needle.
- a further preferred embodiment of the fuel injection valve device is characterized in that a closing spring is clamped between the latency piston and / or the valve needle.
- a single spring cooperates with both the latency piston and the valve needle.
- the fuel injection valve has a valve body 10 in which a nozzle needle 12, which is also referred to as a valve needle, is slidably mounted.
- the nozzle needle 12 controls the injection of the fuel into a cylinder of an internal combustion engine (not shown).
- the supplied fuel exerts an opening force on the nozzle needle 12, which seeks to adjust the nozzle needle and an actuating part 14, on which the nozzle needle 12 is supported, to a control pressure chamber, which is also referred to as a control chamber.
- the control pressure chamber 16 is also supplied fuel, which exerts a closing force on the actuating member 14 due to the pressure prevailing in the control pressure chamber 16 pressure.
- the fuel is provided via an inlet 18 and from the control pressure chamber 16 is a flow 20, which leads to a control chamber 22 of a control valve 24.
- the sequence 20 is again the Inlet, and there is a drain 26 is provided, through which the fuel from the control pressure chamber 16 and the control chamber 22 can flow.
- the control valve 24 has in the control chamber 22 a valve needle 28 which cooperates with a valve seat 30.
- the control valve 24 is closed, so that the supplied via the inlet 18 to the control pressure chamber 16 fuel is dammed in this.
- the high pressure generated in this way exerts on the actuating member 14 from a closing force which is greater than the force acting on the nozzle needle 12 opening force.
- the actuating member 14 is thus in the closed position, and the fuel injection valve is closed.
- the valve needle 28 is lifted from the valve seat 30, the fuel from the control pressure chamber 16 via the control chamber 22 and the drain 26 can flow, so that the pressure in the control pressure chamber decreases.
- the then reduced closing force allows the operating part to be adjusted from the closed position to the open position, so that the nozzle needle opens. Now fuel is injected.
- the nozzle needle should open quickly so that the function of the fuel injection valve, which is also referred to as an injector, remains robust against wear and coking of the nozzle. This is contradicted by the fact that the nozzle needle should open relatively late, so that the actuator of the control valve has time completely to open.
- the design according to the invention provides the fuel injector with latency without reducing the needle opening speed.
- the solution according to the invention is based on a variable control chamber volume.
- FIG. 3 a fuel injection valve device according to the invention is shown schematically.
- the control chamber 16 communicates via a connecting line 34 with a further control chamber 35.
- a flow channel 20 extends with an outlet throttle in a control chamber (22 in FIG. 2 ) of a control valve.
- An arrow 38 indicates that an inlet opens into the further control chamber 35.
- a latency piston 40 is guided back and forth against the spring force of a latency spring 42.
- a projection 43 forms a stroke stop for the latency piston 40.
- the latency piston 40 comprises a cavity 44, which represents an inlet channel and is acted upon by the pressure from the inlet 38.
- the cavity 44 is connected via a through hole 45 with the other control chamber 35 in connection.
- the through hole 45 has a significantly smaller diameter than the cavity 44 and forms an inlet throttle for the further control chamber 35th
- the latency piston 40 moves against the spring force of the latency spring 42 into the further control chamber 35 and reduces its volume.
- the latency piston 44 is dimensioned such that it engages in time before the needle opening and disengages after the needle closure.
- the path xK of the latency piston 40, the path xN of the nozzle needle 12, and the control space pressure pS are each plotted over time in a Cartesian coordinate diagram.
- the control chamber pressure remains approximately constant and thus the injector gains latency.
- the pressure decreases and the nozzle needle 12 opens.
- the nozzle needle can quickly, that is robust, open.
- FIG. 5 is a part of an injector with a nozzle body 50 and a throttle plate 51 shown in section.
- An inlet channel 52 extends through the throttle plate 51 and the nozzle body 50 into a pressure chamber 53, in which a nozzle needle 55 is arranged.
- the combustion chamber remote end of the nozzle needle 55 defines a control chamber 56, from which a drain passage 57 with an outlet throttle 58 emanates.
- a latency piston 60 is reciprocally movable in a through hole 61 which is coaxial extends to the nozzle needle 55 through the throttle plate 51 therethrough.
- the latency piston 60 is movable against the spring force of a latency spring 62, which is clamped between the combustion chamber near end of the latency piston 60 and the combustion chamber remote end of the nozzle needle 55. Consequently, the latency spring 62 simultaneously represents the nozzle needle spring, through which the nozzle needle 55 is biased in its closed position.
- an inlet groove 63 is formed, which connects the inlet channel 52 with the through hole 61.
- High-pressure fuel passes into a cavity 64 in the latency piston 60 via the inlet groove 63.
- the cavity 64 forms part of the inlet and is connected to the control chamber 56 via a through-hole 65, which forms an inlet throttle.
- the movement of the latency piston 60 into the control chamber 56 is limited by a projection 66 which forms a stop for the latency piston 60 and starts from the combustion chamber remote end of the nozzle needle 55.
- FIG. 6 a further embodiment with a nozzle body 50 and a throttle plate 51 is shown.
- a latency piston 70 is guided in a recess 71 in the combustion chamber remote end of the nozzle needle 55 movable back and forth. Between the combustion chamber remote end of the latency piston 70 and the throttle plate 51, a latency spring 72 is clamped, which simultaneously represents a nozzle needle spring, through which the nozzle needle 55 is biased into its closed position.
- a projection 73 extends to the combustion chamber and forms a stop for the latency piston 70.
- the latency piston 70 includes a cavity 74, which forms part of the inlet.
- the cavity 74 communicates via a through hole 75, which forms an inlet throttle, with the control chamber 56 in connection.
- Via a longitudinal bore 76 and a transverse bore 77 of the cavity 74 of the latency piston 70 is filled with fuel from the pressure chamber 53, which is acted upon by high pressure.

Description

- In
- In
- In
- In
