Abstract

L'invention concerne des composants côté client ou côté serveur de courrier électronique, lesquels soit enlèvent les pièces jointes d'un message électronique correspondant, soit identifient la pièce jointe lors de la composition du message électronique pour mettre la pièce jointe à disposition à partir d'un site Web sécurisé ou d'un site d'hébergement de fichiers sécurisé. Le destinataire reçoit alors des instructions dans le message et des liens pour accéder aux pièces jointes, mais pas les pièces elles-mêmes. Des limitations en termes de taille de pièce jointe à un courrier électronique sont ainsi surmontées pour les systèmes de courrier de l'expéditeur/du destinataire. Des limitations en termes de type de fichier pour des pièces jointes à un courrier électronique sont également surmontées, d'où une sécurité accrue pour les pièces jointes et des coûts réduits pour la largeur de bande de courrier électronique.
