Description

Helmets are known to protect the human head and are therefore bound to its ergonomic dimensions. The outer shape of a helmet is aesthetic design, which are based on functional requirements.

A helmet primarily protects the vulnerable zones of the head. The dimensions of a helmet define its fit on the human head. In order to ensure protection even in situations in which the user moves while wearing the helmet on his head, a lockable strap defines the protective position of the helmet on the head.

US 2005/0056278 describes a safety helmet for skiers, snowboarders or other alpine athletes, wherein a guidance system with a mouthpiece and a breathing air intake area and a breathing gas blow-off area spaced from the intake area is located on the helmet.

The present invention has for its object to provide a used for alpine use ski and / or snowboard helmet whose range of use is extended.

This object is achieved by the features formulated in claim 1. The embodiment is specified in the subclaims.

According to the invention helmets can differ in their dimensions and aesthetic formations, the current, as valid DIN standard dictates the scope of the measures to secure the anatomically defined protection zones. So there is not an archetype, but many different models.

Depending on the protection zones, it is possible to provide a helmet with additional functions. One such additional feature is the separation of oxygen inhalation (02) and carbon dioxide (CO2) breathing of the user while wearing the helmet. This additional function allows the respective user, in this case an avalanche victim, to survive longer under a snow avalanche. Although snow in any density is permeable to the extent that an avalanche victim is supplied with sufficient 02, yet the most common cause of death under an avalanche is the suffocation of the casualty. It is based on the fact that the casualty does not die from a lack of 02, but repeatedly inhales his own exhaled CO2-containing expiratory air. There is thus a contamination of the casualty and possibly its death by suffocation.

The invention is characterized in that it is possible according to the invention to breathe the O2-containing air out of the snow via a mouthpiece connected to the helmet, which is under an avalanche in the victim's mouth, and also the CO2-containing exhaled air to be carried away, that it is not inhaled again and that the casualty is not exhausted in overcoming too high resistance within a few minutes.

A preferred embodiment of the invention will be described below with reference to the accompanying drawings. Figures 1 and 2 show a helmet according to the invention, wherein the user on the Figures 1 and 2 not shown with.
  • Fig.1 shows the perspective view of a helmet according to the invention, the shuttering is partially exposed in such a way that its operation on the Schichttaufbau and all other elements, recognizable.
  • Fig.2 shows the rear view of a helmet according to the invention, to which the tubular extension 9 is connected.

The wearer of the helmet can, if necessary, that is, when threatened by an avalanche, press a release button 8 by pressure. This unfolds, located directly in front of the mouth of the user befindlichem folded, rubber-like tube 6 in the way that this hose in the unfolded state, only by opening the mouth of each user, can be reached. If it comes to a total burial of the person by the avalanche, that is, also to a spill of the head, the casualty now wears the tubular part 6, additionally held by the jaw muscle (bite a snorkel-like), in the mouth. The helmet has as Sauerstoffansaugbereich over the entire helmet distributed openings 1, which are provided to protect against clogging by snow with a kind of permeable lattice structure. The, located between outer shell 4 and inner shell 3a cavity 2, serves as a kind of artificial respiratory cavity. This respiratory cavity is very advantageous as an intermediate zone, in order to reduce the mechanical resistance when sucking the 02-containing air so far that the casualty is not exhausted to overcome the high resistance of directly compressing the airways within a few minutes, consequently physically no longer in the Able to suck in the available oxygen. A frequent cause of death of avalanche victims is therefore asphyxiation caused by a lack of oxygen and repeated inhalation of their own CO2-containing exhaust air. If the accident victim now sucks on the hose 6, he filters, due to the cavity 2, largely free of resistance, the 02-containing air from the immediate environment snow of the avalanche. If the casualty now breathes under the avalanche, the airways are directed via two control valves 5a and 5b. The one-sided air-permeable control valve 5a ensures inhalation of the 02-containing air via the mouth tube 6 and at the same time prevents backflow of the CO2-containing expiratory air in this direction. The also unidirectional control valve 5b ensures that the CO2-containing exhaust air only passes through the valve 5b, also can not flow back, and thus leaves the helmet, in the desired direction through the cavity 7. In the central neck area, the CO2-containing exhaust air is expelled via the outlet opening 9 into the surrounding snow. At the opening, that is, the breathing gas outlet area 9, a hose-like extension is additionally conceivable, which increases the distance from the breathing air intake area to the breathing gas blow-off area in order to minimize the likelihood of renewed inhalation of the CO2-containing exhaust air. This extension is conceivable above and below the ski clothing and also has at its end an opening from which the CO2-containing exhaust air emerges.
