Definitions
- the invention relates to a connector for telecommunications and data technology according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Such connectors are for example RJ45 sockets or plugs, such a generic RJ45 socket in the WO 02/15339 is described.
- a female connector known with a dielectric connector housing and disposed in the connector housing contacts for making a connection to the contacts of an inserted into an insertion of the connector housing associated connector, as well as external terminal contacts for establishing an electrical connection to the female connector, with an arrangement for galvanic decoupling of the contacts for the associated connector from the external terminal contacts and with a filter device, wherein a substantially completely insertable into the connector housing element which holds both the contacts for the associated connector and the external terminal contacts and in which both the arrangement for galvanic decoupling and the filter device is arranged.
- the arrangement for galvanic decoupling and the filter device comprise inductances, which are formed by coils with ferrite ring core, whose center axes are each aligned parallel to each other.
- Transformers for galvanic decoupling act as a bandpass, which is disadvantageous in particular for broadband transmissions to CAT6 as well as 10 Gigabit / s Ethernet applications.
- the connector comprises an electrically insulating connector housing and first contacts and second contacts, wherein by means of the first contacts a plurality of pairs of wires of a symmetrical data cable are contacted and by means of the second contacts an electrical contact with the contacts of a complementary connector can be produced, in each case two first contacts are associated with a pair of wires and each first contact is associated with a second contact, wherein the first contacts are electrically connected to their associated second contacts, wherein the connector has a formed as a ferrite sleeve common mode filter arrangement.
- the invention is therefore based on the technical problem of providing a connector for telecommunications and data technology, by means of which the influence of the ANEXT is reduced at high transmission rates of CAT6 or 10 Gigabit / s Ethernet.
- each pair of wires is assigned a common-mode filter arrangement.
- a disturbing common-mode signal is attenuated in pairs, so that this attenuated common-mode component does not lead to an AXT in an adjacent connector.
- the common mode filter arrangement also attenuates coupled common mode signals from other connectors.
- the common mode arrangement is formed as a ferrite sleeve, each pair of wires is assigned its own ferrite sleeve, whereas a single ferrite sleeve for the whole cable would have little effect.
- the reason for this is that the common-mode signals on the different wire pairs do not necessarily have the same direction. Therefore, the common mode noise must be reduced separately by each wire pair.
- the connector housing and / or a cable manager consists at least partially of a ferrite material or contains ferrite material.
- a cable manager may consist entirely of a ferrite material, through which the wire pairs are then carried out in their respective associated segment.
- the ferrite sleeves can be overmolded in the connector housing. It is also possible to add ferrite powder to the plastic spray material.
- a common mode filter arrangement takes place in the case of a plug connection both on the plug side and on the socket side, however, the particular design of the common mode filter arrangement may be different.
- the connector 1 comprises a connector housing 2, a printed circuit board 3, a hold-down 4 and a cable manager 5.
- the connector housing 2 is formed in the example shown as a female housing with various locking and insertion means.
- On the side surfaces of the connector housing 2 is formed with a shield plate 6.
- the printed circuit board 3 is equipped on its front with a set of second contacts 7 and on its rear side with a set of first contacts 8, which are formed as insulation displacement contacts. In each case a contact 7 is connected to a contact 8.
- the circuit board 3 is then inserted into the connector housing 2.
- cylindrical pins 9 of the connector housing 2 penetrate holes in the printed circuit board 3, so that the connector housing 2 and the printed circuit board 3 are adjusted to each other and fixed.
- the formed as RF contacts contacts 7 then protrude into an accessible from the front of the connector housing opening.
- the hold-down device 4 is pushed over the contacts 8 of the second set and locked with the connector housing 2.
- the hold-down 4 is formed on the front side with locking lugs 10 and has continuous Openings 11 for the insulation displacement contacts 8.
- the hold-down 4 is formed with two latching hooks 12, which serve for latching with a cable manager 5.
- the cable manager 5 is formed substantially square and has an opening in the middle, around which a cylindrical projection 14 is arranged. The opening extends continuously from the back to the front, wherein in the opening a guide cross 17 is arranged, that divides the opening into four segments. In each case, an associated wire pair of a data cable is guided in a segment.
- Fig. 1 is now schematically a first embodiment of the common mode filter arrangement for a connector according to Fig. 2 shown.
- two associated insulation displacement contacts 8 are shown, by means of which the wires of a pair of wires are contacted.
- the two cutting-Klemm-Köntakte 8 are electrically connected via a respective conductor track 20, 21 with an SMD component 22, which includes a common mode choke 23 with ferrite ring 24.
- the SMD element 22 is connected to the associated RF contacts 7 on the other side of the printed circuit board 3.
- the common mode signal is reduced in pairs on the pair, so that this pair of wires represents a lesser source of interference for adjacent connectors.
- the common mode choke 23 has been shown only for a pair of wires. It is understood that with an RJ45 socket according to Fig. 2 find four common mode chokes 23 for the four wire pairs.
- the connector housing 2 or the hold-down 4 and / or the cable manager 5 consist of ferrite material or contain ferrite material.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a connector for telecommunications and data technology according to the preamble of claim 1.

In CAT6 or 10 Gigabit / s Ethernet applications, in addition to the well-known cross talk effects within a connector such as NEXT (Near End Cross Talk) and FEXT (Far End Cross Talk), an increased influence of the so-called ANEXT (Alien Near End Cross Talk ) or AFEXT (Alien Far End Cross Talk) on adjacent connectors. The influence of the ANEXT or AFEXT increases strongly with higher signal transmission rates. This AXT (Alien Cross Talk) is made up of the direct AX between the connectors and the indirect AX via the opposite to common mode conversion of the connector, the common mode coupling between the connected cables and the DC to differential mode conversion in the failed connector.
The invention is therefore based on the technical problem of providing a connector for telecommunications and data technology, by means of which the influence of the ANEXT is reduced at high transmission rates of CAT6 or 10 Gigabit / s Ethernet.
The solution of the technical problem results from the subject matter with the features of claim 1. Further advantageous embodiments of the invention will become apparent from the dependent claims.
For this purpose, each pair of wires is assigned a common-mode filter arrangement. As a result, a disturbing common-mode signal is attenuated in pairs, so that this attenuated common-mode component does not lead to an AXT in an adjacent connector. At the same time, the common mode filter arrangement also attenuates coupled common mode signals from other connectors.
In this case, the common mode arrangement is formed as a ferrite sleeve, each pair of wires is assigned its own ferrite sleeve, whereas a single ferrite sleeve for the whole cable would have little effect. The reason for this is that the common-mode signals on the different wire pairs do not necessarily have the same direction. Therefore, the common mode noise must be reduced separately by each wire pair.
The connector housing and / or a cable manager consists at least partially of a ferrite material or contains ferrite material. For example, a cable manager may consist entirely of a ferrite material, through which the wire pairs are then carried out in their respective associated segment. Alternatively, the ferrite sleeves can be overmolded in the connector housing. It is also possible to add ferrite powder to the plastic spray material.
Preferably, a common mode filter arrangement takes place in the case of a plug connection both on the plug side and on the socket side, however, the particular design of the common mode filter arrangement may be different.
