Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a connector with electrical contacts for transmitting signals or signal data, wherein at least four contacts with leads to other contacts with leads within the connector are electromagnetically and / or metallic shielded and in particular serve as Ethernet connections, so that at least one or each provided within the connector shield contains only two associated such contacts with leads.
This results in addition to additional optical fibers, the possibility of further shielded contacts, whether individually or in pairs, provide, which means a considerable amount of space and in such a configuration leads to a complicated to produce connector.
It is therefore an object to provide a connector of the type mentioned, in which the advantage is maintained that the at least four contacts and lines are shielded from the other contacts and lines and at the same time the risk of interference with these shielded contacts and lines on is reduced. The production should be as simple as possible.
To solve this seemingly contradictory task is provided that the paired shielded contacts and leads are shielded from other electrical contacts without shields with leads within the connector that the shields are sleeve-like and spaced from each other, that the sleeve-like or sleeve-shaped shields Circular cross-section have so many shields inside the connector, how to shield pairs of contacts with leads from other contacts to leads, and each of these shields contains / includes a pair of contacts with leads, and that the distance provided within the connector several shields to each other is about a quarter to about one millimeter.
Thus, the advantage remains to have within the connector usual contacts with leads on the one hand and those that are electromagnetically and / or mechanically shielded, for the least possible risk of interference only two contacts are provided within a shield, and these shields a have circular cross-section, resulting in easier manufacturing and Assembly allowed. Thus, on the one hand, the shield can be very easily prepared, for example, from a tube or other than sleeve with circular cross-section and provided, for example, for their attachment with an internal thread or external thread, in the internal thread, the contacts with leads carrying sockets for mounting within the Shielding can be easily screwed.
According to the invention so many individual shields in the particularly useful sleeve-like shape with a circular cross-section are available as Ethernet cable pairs are present in the connector, at the same time other contacts without shields can be used in the usual way.
Thus, as many cross-sectional circular shields may be provided within the connector as to shield pairs of contacts with leads from other contacts with leads, and each of these shields may include / enclose a pair of contacts with leads. As a result, these pairs of contacts to be shielded with leads are not only shielded from the other contacts with leads, but also against each other.
The small distance of about one quarter to about one millimeter between the individual shields allows their placement in smaller connectors, while a slightly larger distance reduces or eliminates the risk of unwanted contact of the shields during assembly and during subsequent handling. In this case, the distance between the several shields provided within the connector can be about half or about three quarters Millimeters or a value lying between one-quarter and one millimeter.
It is advantageous if the serving as shields sleeves on the front side of the connector or its housing in the axial direction on the opposite side of a connector of the connector survive and the cables to be shielded already outside the housing of the connector from each other and from other leads are shielded. Correspondingly low is the risk of interference.
The version of the two housable within a shield contacts with leads can be designed as a screw and can be used or screwed into an internal thread of the sleeve-like shield. In this case, such a configuration as a screw on the socket has the further advantage that it can also press the shielding braid after the bend inside the shielding sleeve. In addition, this results in a strain relief for the arranged on the individual sleeve-like shields contacts with leads or strands.
The connector according to the invention may be assembled from two male parts, wherein a male part formed as pins contacts and the other effective as a counterpart connector part designed as matching the pins bushings contacts, which result in the mated position of both connector parts an electrically conductive connector, and both Plug parts can each shielding provided for pairs of matching contacts with leads and the shields of both connector parts are non-positively plugged into each other. The connector can thus be equipped with two connector parts, in which in accordance with the invention shields are provided for pairwise related contacts with leads, which in turn are mated to allow the connection of the connector parts easily and to effect a continuous shielding in this coupled position.
The sleeve-like shields of a plug part can be slotted and record the sleeve-like shields of the other plug part in the coupling position or spring elastic overlap. Due to the slits of the shields, these can be adapted to the shields located on the mating connector part correspondingly elastically.
It should be noted that the contacts and leads having, arranged in the plug parts insulator can be designed so consistent that they can accommodate either pins or sockets as contacts. This can streamline or simplify manufacturing.
Especially when combining one or more of the features and measures described above results in a connector with electrical contacts for the transmission of signals or signal data of different speeds and / or valences, wherein at least four of these contacts are shielded with leads to other contacts with leads in such a way that for each two paired such contacts own shield is present, so that each of the inside of the connector - additionally - provided shields only contains two related contacts and leads. Accordingly reduced is the risk of mutual interference within the connector.
