Description

The present invention relates to a connection means for construction elements according to the preamble of claim 1. Furthermore, it relates to a building block set with such a connecting means.

Block systems are known, for. B. toy building blocks systems, for children, their stones can be connected by plying or simple screw together. Such a system is in the WO-A-2004/87277 the applicant described. In order to provide playful incentive and manageable, it is desirable to provide only a relatively small number of different elements and to make the blocks relatively large, especially for smaller children.

Like other modular systems, this also has a connection mechanism in which elements that are substantially complementary to one another are inserted into one another in the direction of construction. In contrast to other systems, where a clamping effect and thus a traction occurs, here slide the elements easily into each other. Stabilization and fixation can be achieved by screwing through the elements of the mechanism.

However, problems are constructions in which not only built in one direction, z. B. upward, but should be further developed in a second direction, z. B. laterally, or even the direction of construction is reversed. An example could be a laterally projecting arm as for a crane to which a down-hanging object is attached is. Clamp-based systems regularly allow at most one reversal, but wear and thus reduced clamping effect will very soon give rise to stability problems. Due to the cohesion solely by the clamping action, the stability is already fundamentally limited.

DE-A-19715710 teaches a sliding block for profile frame, which has an internal thread. A targeted screwing is necessary.

CH-428529 refers to building blocks with protruding, widened at the head pin, which can be inserted into grooves on the sides of another building block. A coupling element consists essentially of two such directly connected pins. The pins are inserted into the grooves transversely to the growth direction of the construction.

FR-A-2563746 teaches blocks that can be installed in one direction by means of pluggable terminal connection, in a second direction, however, by strips with thickened end, which are inserted transversely to the direction of construction in grooves. The coupling parts are to be inserted in grooves, ie transversely to the construction direction.

DE-A-20206532 teaches a building system for large-format building blocks. The blocks have grooves in the walls. The connection of two sides is made by inserting a coupling strip in the channel, which is formed by abutting grooves.

Another possibility is to include special connection elements for lateral or reverse connections in the block system. However, this increases the number of block types, and the block system is the user unclear and thus uninteresting.

It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide an arrangement for allowing building with building blocks having a linking mechanism in at least one main direction, in a second direction in which the building blocks have no elements of the linking mechanism.

A connecting means, which realizes such a provision, is specified in claim 1. The further claims indicate preferred embodiments and modular systems with such a connecting means.

Accordingly, the invention is to provide a connection means which allows a combination of slide-in connection and a second, releasable connection mechanism. Such a connection mechanism is z. B. in the aforementioned block system of the applicant already provided in the form of a screw. However, the screw connection as a prototype of an actuatable connection mechanism is in the known game building block system only as a connection in a first direction, z. B. upward. Slide-in connections are only for decorative slide-in plates provided, including the game modules in their side walls slots or grooves. According to the invention, the slots in the side walls are modified such that they preferably have an extension at the bottom. The inventive connecting means has a corresponding strip-shaped part, which also, preferably at its front end and the front edge, corresponding thickening. It can thus be inserted in a modified groove in the longitudinal direction, but not pulled out transversely. On the other hand, the connecting means on a part of the connection mechanism of the toy building block system, for. B. the mother of a screw. This makes it possible in a simple way to provide a side wall of a block with a component of a connection mechanism (nut of a screw) and thus to allow a continuation across the original main building direction. This connection mechanism is the one with which the blocks in the main building direction (or in the construction directions) are connected to each other. In particular, it is a plug-in connection, which in addition with another form-locking attachment, z. As screw, snap, bayonet or Renkverschluss, can be combined to ensure a secure cohesion.

The modular system is thus extended essentially only by this further part, the connecting means, whereby the complexity of the overall system is kept low and it retains its appeal, especially for younger children or even increased by the expansion of the design options. Another advantage is that only by the addition of the connecting means, these additional design options with existing Building blocks are achieved, whereby the procurement costs are kept low.

The invention will be further explained in a preferred embodiment with reference to the figures.

  • Fig. 2 Top view of the arrangement according to Fig. 1 with partial section through laterally attached building block, according to II;

In Fig. 1 is a first building block 1 (more precisely: 2 blocks placed one on the other, see dividing line in the middle, in order to adapt the height to the diameter of the attached building block), to which a second building block 2 is attached laterally by means of a connecting means 3 according to the invention. The blocks are essentially according to the WO-A-2004/87277 executed by the applicant. The first module has a cuboid body 5. In the main building direction is located on a side surface 7 of the characteristic nubs 8 for attaching other blocks. This side surface 7 is referred to as "top". On the opposite, lower side (not shown) of the block body 5 is a recess which is formed complementary to the nubs 8. As stated in said WO publication, these building blocks can take various forms and have a plurality of nubs, depressions as well as depressions, etc. A variant is already in the Fig. 1 The module 2 has a substantially cylindrical body 10.

In the side surfaces of the body 5, of which the front 12 and left 14 are visible, there are grooves 16. The grooves 16 have from the opening initially a passage of constant width 18, to which the bottom of the groove is a substantially cylindrical Extension 19 connects (see also Fig. 2 ).

The connecting means 3 has a substantially complementary to the groove 16 formed, strip-shaped member 22 which can be inserted from above or below in a groove 16. The strip-shaped member 22 has correspondingly a strip-shaped neck 24, at the front edge of a substantially cylindrical thickening 25 is arranged (see Fig. 3, 5 ). Centered on the trailing edge of the web-shaped neck 24 is a nut 27 of the building block system, which is easily recognizable in shape with the studs 8, but is provided with an internal thread 28 (see Fig. 4 ).

After insertion of the coupling part or connecting means 3 in a groove 16 of a block is thus a nut 27 on this side surface. On this mother 27 can, as in Fig. 2 shown, another module 2 attached and secured by a screw 30.

Obviously, it is thus possible, by the mere introduction of the coupling part 3, to equip the standard components as needed with the possibility of grow laterally in one or more directions at the same time. The laterally applied blocks 2 are fastened by the screws 30, which are also already known, so that a high-strength connection results. By combining these lateral connections, it is possible to further change the construction direction, for. B. reverse or even in the broadest sense to achieve annular structures. In addition occurs that in any case in the block system of the applicant stones can be twisted together in 45 ° angles, resulting in other variants.

B. in 45°-Abständen.The coupling part 3 is only dependent on the presence of the grooves. As in Fig. 1 can also see the block 2 with cylindrical body 10 circumferentially grooves 16. It is therefore conceivable, in general, but also in particular on a cylindrical block body to provide the grooves in a different arrangement and number, z. B. at 45 ° intervals.

At the front edge of the thickening 25 a wedge-shaped incision is present. It serves to give the thickening 25 a slight flexibility in order to facilitate insertion into a groove 16 in the case of a tight fit or to adjust the increase in the clamping action between the strip-shaped member 22 and the groove 16 when the screw 30 is tightened. Especially with regard to the needs of younger children, strip-shaped member 22 and groove 16 are designed so that they can be easily inserted into each other. Surprisingly advantageous has been found that when tightening the screw 30, a clamping effect between strip-shaped member 22 and groove 16 results. This effect is further supported by the fact that the web-shaped neck 24 is executed at most as long as the passage 18. This ensures that when tightening the screw 30 of the nut-shaped part 27 of the coupling part 3 is pulled into the module 2, whereby the underside 34 is pressed against the side surface 14 of the first module 1 and at the same time a train on the strip-shaped member 22 is exercised.

If several blocks 2 attached to the side surfaces of a block 1 (in the example up to four), then advantageously results in a mutual clamping effect: Already when tightening only a screw of a laterally mounted block 2 already results in a low clamping effect on blocks that with a Coupling part 3 are attached to one of the other side surfaces, with a tightening is not yet necessary. However, they are still displaceable, which facilitates the assembly, since the stones no longer fall off easily. If blocks attached to two or more sides are fastened, the clamping effect increases in the grooves 16, depending on the tightening force.

Beispielsweise kann als Grundmass 6 cm angenommen werden (Seitenflächenbreite von ersten Bausteinen; Durchmesser Baustein 2).Preferably, the components of the building block system are made of plastic by injection molding. For use with smaller children, correspondingly larger dimensions must be provided. For example, the basic dimension can be assumed to be 6 cm (side surface width of first building blocks, diameter building block 2).

The described embodiment is preferably designed as a toy building block system.

From the foregoing description of an embodiment, numerous modifications and adaptations will be apparent to those skilled in the art without departing from the scope of the invention, which is defined by the claims. Conceivable z. B .:
  • Use in block sets for: Model making; Construction of interior furnishings; Playground equipment; Vehicles, in particular for children or for play purposes.
  • The shape of the strip-shaped member can be chosen differently, for. B. wedge-shaped wider. It is important for a connection that the strip-shaped part has a widening, which can form a positive connection with a correspondingly complementary groove, which prevents the withdrawal of the strip-shaped member transversely to the longitudinal axis of the groove.
  • The thickening of the strip-shaped member is divided, z. B. as a series or a few thickened sections, z. B. similar embedded in the strip-shaped member balls.
  • The thickening has a different circular cross-section, z. B. polygonal and / or deformed rounded (elliptical, oval).
  • As a releasable connection mechanism is a snap connection, z. B. with ball and pan.
