Applying the conical edge portion (26) to the conical inner peripheral surface (20) of the opening portion (8) such that the conical edge portion (26) with the interposition of the heated thermoplastic sealing layer (32) is fully applied to the conical inner peripheral surface (20) and the conical opening portion (8) the welded sheet metal blank (44) is hermetically sealed, whereby the sealed with the lid (6) tin box (2) is obtained.
