Description

    OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
  • The object of the present invention is a display box according to the preamble of claim 1 based on a single laminar part appropriately cut out, of the type of box comprising a single piece used initially for transport of the goods and subsequently, having arrived at the distribution point, it can be used as a display case on removal of part of the box,
  • The fact that the display box is formed from a single sheet has obvious financial and technical advantages, both in its manufacture and subsequent use.
  • Therefore, the present invention is circumscribed within the scope of formation of cardboard boxes based on cut out cardboard sheets, and more precisely, of the type which form display boxes.
  • BACKGROUND TO THE INVENTION
  • To date certain display boxes in their manufacturing process are formed from two cut out sheets for the base and another upper closing part which, when they arrive at their distribution point, can be removed and disposed of.
  • The manufacture of a display box based on two sheets clearly involves technical complications as it is limited to specific dimensions, since the folding machines are unable to make folds in areas where there is not much width and also, following stamping and marking of the fold lines, both parts must be glued.
  • There is no doubt whatsoever that the cost of manufacturing a display box based on two sheets is clearly greater than if it were made with a single sheet.
It is known from the State of the Art a loaded box as the one disclosed in EP 1535849 wherein said loaded box can be converted into a display tray by a user inserting a finger through an opening in a front panel to pull a tab up and to detach the tab from the panel.
  • Also, in general, display boxes are provided with a removable front which is taken off when it reaches the distribution point for the purpose of clearly displaying the product inside. The front part forms a window by tearing the removable part along a previously stamped line. This tear line, however well made, means that the edges of the front display window are not perfectly finished and have jagged or protruding elements which detract from the aesthetic appearance of the product.
  • In this case, in order to overcome the aforementioned disadvantages the aim is to achieve a display case from a single cardboard sheet and/or similar, and in which the front window of the display box is manufactured directly in the factory.
  • DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • The display box which is the object of this invention is formed as established in the description of the invention by a single sheet. The sheet may be made from cardboard or any other similar material, and shall be cut out and stamped along the fold lines so that when the box finally reaches the distribution point, the part which does not form a part of the display may be removed. All display boxes have a lower part which functions as a base or display support and an upper part which acts as a closure and which is subsequently removed.
  • Since the display box according to the invention, is formed from a single sheet it shall be provided with both parts which are joined, on one side the base, and on the other the upper closing part.
  • The base shall be provided with lateral closing sections from which flaps emerge to form the base.
  • The base and the cover shall be practically separate, joined only by punched tear lines which shall form a hinge for the shaping.
  • In addition, the upper closing part is provided with some lateral sections which in their lower part are provided with trapezoidal cut forms which are inserted in the lower space defined by the base. These lateral sections are also provided in their upper part with emerging flaps for closing the box.
  • The upper closing part is fitted on the base by pressing on the upper part which fits the cut trapezoidal forms into the interior space defined by the base, folding in an articulated manner, like a hinge, the cut trapezoidal central form of the two large sections on a fold line as well as on the fold line of connection with the base, thus forming a double wall on the base of the box.
  • Subsequently, in order to remove the upper part in respect of the base, the fingers are introduced in the sides of the box base tearing the fold line in order to separate the upper part from the base or lower tray, with the torn part concealed in the base.
  • Due to the fact that the display box is formed from a single sheet, it is possible to form a base with a lower height than if it were made from a single sheet destined exclusively for the base. This is due to the fact that folding machines are not restricted by any possible smaller dimension of the base, as it forms part of a sheet with larger dimensions.
  • Also, as a consequence of achieving a display box based on a single sheet, manufacturing costs are clearly reduced. Finally, it should be mentioned that, given the cut in the front window of the base of the box, since it is carried out in the factory, the finish is greatly improved, and does not affect any advertising which might be shown on the display box.
  • DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • In order to complement the description which follows and to provide a better understanding of the characteristics of the invention, the present descriptive report is accompanied by a set of plans which are illustrative and not restrictive in any way, representing the most significant details of the invention. Figure 1 shows a representation of the single sheet used in forming the display box, showing it folded out and indicating the perforations and cut outs. Figure 2, shows the sheet when it has been folded and how it is distributed when ready for use. Figures 3, 4 and 5 show the actions to be carried out in order to achieve the conformation of the display box ready for transport to its sales or distribution point.
  • PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION
  • In the light of the figures a preferred embodiment of the invention proposed is described below.
  • Figure 1 shows how the single sheet which serves to form the display box which is the object of the invention , has a lower part(2) which forms the base, and an upper part (3) which forms a closure which may be subsequently removed.
  • The lower part (2) is provided with lateral sections(5)which form the walls of the base, with those lateral sections (5) emerging in their lower parts (2) serving to form the base of the box.
  • On one of the free ends of the lateral sections a closing tab (6) is provided which is glued on the free opposite edge.
  • On the front of one of the lateral sections (5) a window (7) is formed which has been pre-cut in the factory.
  • The upper part (3) is provided with lateral sections (9) and in order to form the upper removable closure, said lateral sections (9)are provided with a lower part forming cut trapezoidal forms (12) which are inserted in the interior space defined in the base once the box is formed. On the front of one of the large sections, three cut trapezoidal forms are defined, the central one provided with a double tear line. From the upper part of the lateral sections (9) emerge flaps (10) which permit closure of the box.
  • The lower part (2) and the upper part (3) are joined by means of a fold line (14) which joins the cut trapezoidal central form of the large sides of the lateral sections (9) with the upper edge of the large sides of the lateral sections (5) of the base.
  • Due to the fact that the display case is formed from a single sheet, the height (8) of the base may be reduced further than if it were of the type requiring a single sheet to make the base.
  • In addition the single sheet (1) used for forming the box is provided with a front window (7) pre-cut in the factory, which enables said window to be perfectly finished, not affecting any possible tearing of the lateral parts of the base.
  • Figure 2 shows the display box in folded form prior to unfolding, where, among other elements, the flaps (10) may be seen, the lateral sections (5) which form the base, and the double fold line (11) which serves to assemble the box in order to subsequently remove the upper part.
  • Figure 3 shows how by pressing on the sides of the base sections the base can be mounted, without folding the flaps of the closure (10) as well as introducing the trapezoidal cut forms (12) in the interior space defined by the base.
  • Figure 4 shows how the box is formed having pressed the upper part ensuring that the trapezoidal cut forms are introduced in the interior of the base contacting with the inside face of the lateral sections (5) which form the walls of the base.
  • Finally, figure 5 shows the box already formed in which the closing flaps have been folded (10). When the upper part of the display box requires removal, the fingers are introduced through the side for the purpose of tearing the folded tear line (11) with the torn area concealed in the base, and subsequently lifting and removing the upper closure of the box, indicating the content of the box displayed on its base.
  • The essential nature of this invention is not altered in any way by variations in materials, form, shape and arrangement of the component elements which are described in a manner which is in no way restrictive but which is sufficient to for an expert to proceed to its reproduction.
