Abstract

A reinforcing base material (10) for use in a press belt comprises a first group of yearns (11, 12, 13) which extend to the wire-running direction and a second group of yearns (14, 15) which extend across the first group of yeans. The first group of yearns comprise a twisted yarn (11) which is placed on the outermost side of the belt and single yarns (12, 13) which are placed on the inner side of the belt. The second group of yarns comprise a twisted yarn (14) which is placed on the outermost side of the belt and a single yarn (15) which is placed on the inner side of the belt.
