- the EP 1 690 981 A1 for applying such a job in the form of a topographical pattern to use a rotary screen in order to produce the pattern with the desired shape and quality.
- the EP 1 690 982 A1 proposes, in order to create a topographic pattern, to apply it in a polymer extrusion process wherein an extrusion head dispensing the polymeric material is moved across the surface of the belt-like substrate being processed, thereby applying the pattern of the desired shape.
- the WO 2004/061213 discloses a method for producing a coated or impregnated endless belt which can be used in press sections of a paper machine.
- the polymeric coating material is applied in all three spatial directions with the desired structure.
- a machine for producing sheet material In particular, paper or cardboard to provide, with which also in a provided with at least one seam area band-like substrate, any order pattern can be generated.
- the application is cut after its application to the belt-like substrate and optionally after a curing process, specifically where the belt-like substrate may have to be separated in order to incorporate the strip-like fabric thus produced in a machine for the production of web material to be able to.
- This makes it possible, in the case of measure b), to apply the application with any desired pattern and, above all, also over the seam region. It is not necessary to ensure that the seam area is kept free.
- This has the advantage that when using a strip-like fabric produced in this way, no structuring generated by interrupting the application in the seam region is also produced in the web material to be produced. In particular, this also contributes to the fact that the severing of the application in the seam area after opening and reclosing the seam area leads to a configuration in which the adjoining areas of the severed job are present as though they were not actually separated.
- the coating may be constructed of polymeric material and may be applied to the tape-like substrate in a continuous and / or discrete application pattern. Completely independent of the structure with which this pattern is formed, it can be guided over the at least one seam area in any desired manner.
- the application penetrate into the belt-like substrate with a penetrating depth of 5% to 100%.
- the tape-like substrate can be constructed in various ways.
- it may be formed as a spiral link belt, also known as "spiral linc fabric", or as a woven belt. Both the spiral link belt and the woven belt have connecting loops at the end portions, either formed by cloth loops or formed by loop-like portions of the spiral band members.
- the measure c) may include cutting the application along the elongate connecting element.
- the course of the elongate connecting element is optically detected and that a severing device is guided along the elongated connecting element based on the result of the optical detection.
- the method comprises a measure D) for reconnecting the job severed in the region of at least one seam area after Implementation of measure C).
- This reconnection can include, for example, by gluing, fusing or ultrasonic welding of the cut job.
- the present invention relates to a belt-like covering, in particular for a machine for producing web material, in particular paper or cardboard, comprising a belt-like substrate having at least one seam region extending substantially in a transverse direction of the substrate, in which end regions of the belt-like substrate are elongated and overlapping arranged by overlapping loops of the end portions led connecting element connected or connectable, wherein on the belt-like substrate is provided over an order extending over at least one seam area and severed along at least one seam area order.
- the coating may be formed of polymeric material and applied to the tape-like substrate with a continuous and / or discrete application pattern.
- the ribbon-like substrate may comprise a plurality of helically wound members extending substantially in a transverse direction of the substrate, which are arranged overlapping one another with loop-like regions and being connected to one another by an elongate connecting element guided through the loop-like regions arranged in an overlapping manner.
- the ribbon-like substrate comprises a fabric substrate with fabric loops provided in the end regions to be joined together in the seam area.
- a short section of a belt-like webbing belt-like substrate 10 is shown for a web-forming machine, such as paper or board.
- the belt-like substrate 10 as a so-called spiral link belt, also referred to as "spiral link fabric" constructed.
- This spiral link belt comprises a plurality of members 12 elongated in a band transverse direction CMD with its helical structure.
- the helical structure is flattened so that the individual turns of thread at its two in the band longitudinal direction MD each end loops 14, 16 form.
- the loops 14 and 16 immediately adjacent in the strip transverse direction CMD have a mutual spacing also defined by the pitch of the winding, which corresponds at least to the material thickness of the individual members 12.
- each other arranged members 12 may, for example, of wire material or the like constructed and in Fig. 1 schematically indicated by a dashed line, elongated connecting element 18 are introduced.
- this connecting element 18 By means of this connecting element 18, therefore, a hinge-like or articulated connection of directly adjacent links 12 is produced.
- the mutual distance of such connecting elements 18 in the band longitudinal direction MD which is slightly smaller than the length of the individual members 12 in this direction, may be in the range of about 3 mm to 4 mm, preferably about 3.5 mm.
- an order 20 may be provided on the side of the belt-like substrate, with which also the web material to be produced or the starting material for it to come into contact.
- This order 20 which is constructed, for example, with polymer or generally elastomeric material, can be applied in a manner known per se in a screen printing process, for example with a rotary screen, or in an extrusion process of any desired pattern.
- the amount or the viscosity of the material for the order 20 can be selected so that it penetrates in a defined manner in the open structure of the belt-like substrate 10, for example with a penetration depth of 5% to 100%.
- An incomplete penetration of the strip-like substrate 10 makes it possible for an air stream to form on the back of the application 10 or within the strip-like substrate 10 formed with an open structure per se.
- the pattern with which the application 20 is applied to the belt-like substrate 10 is arbitrary. It can, as in Fig. 1 Recognizable, a continuous pattern, for example, with the shown net-like configuration can be used. Of course, even discrete patterns, such as point-like areas, can be selected.
- Fig. 1 One recognizes in Fig. 1 in that the application 20 is also located in the region in which a seam region 22 of the belt-like substrate 10 generated by the loops 14, 16 arranged in overlapping relationship with one another and the connecting element introduced into this connection element is present. It should be noted here that in such a belt-like substrate 10, with the in the Fig. 1 recognizable members 12 is constructed, in principle, each of the elongated Vietnameseselemenet can be constructed or introduced into the associated loops that it can be pulled out to open the otherwise provided, for example, in an endless configuration substrate 10.
- the belt-like substrate 10 may also be used in other ways, for example in a weaving process can be produced, in which case a respective seam region is formed by formed in the end regions of the belt-like substrate 10 to be joined together loops. It is also possible to wind such a ribbon-like substrate 10 around respective mandrels forming the loops in the end regions.
- the procedure according to the invention explained in greater detail below can be used with any strip-like substrate 10 in which a seam region is formed, in which two end regions of the substrate 10 to be joined are present and connected to one another, for example, by using an elongated connecting element or can be solved by removing this connecting element from each other.
- the application 20 is applied with its desired structure, for example in a state in which the substrate 10 is installed in its closed, that is to say endless, configuration in an application station.
- the material of the job 20 may be cured even under the influence of heat.
- a in Fig. 1 schematically indicated cutting tool 24 of the order 20 in the seam portion 22 is severed.
- the procedure may preferably be such that the course of the elongate connecting element 18 or of the seam area 22 is determined precisely by means of optical detection systems, for example optical detectors or cameras, and the tool 24 is then guided with respect to the substrate 10 provided with the application 20, the application 20 is severed directly above the seam region 22 or the elongate connecting element 18 extending therein.
- the tool 24 is then moved in a cutting direction S, which will essentially also correspond to the strip transverse direction CMD. This cutting, so for example cutting, continues to be done so that only the order 20 is severed, but the underlying belt-like substrate 10 is not damaged.
- the seam region 22 or at least one of the seam regions 22 can be opened for incorporation thereof into a machine for producing web material.
- the elongated connecting element 18 are pulled out of the region of the overlapping loops 14, 16, so that the two in Fig. 2 recognizable end portions 26, 28 of the fabric or the substrate 10 can be moved away from each other and thus the previously formed severing region or section in the order 20 can be seen.
- the two end portions 26, 28 are again positioned relative to each other, that the loops 14, 16 of the members 12 intermesh and the Provide space for receiving the elongate connector 18. This can then be reintroduced into this room to re-create the closed, endless configuration of the clothing in this way.
- the two previously separate areas 30, 32 of the job 20 again directly opposite each other and touch if necessary. This means that despite the severing of the order 20 in the working state of the fabric thus produced a virtually continuous order pattern of the order 20 may be present becomes.
- the application 20 in its immediately adjacent regions 30, 32 can also be reconnected. This can be done for example by gluing or especially when using thermoplastic materials by fusion or ultrasonic welding.

The present invention relates to a method for producing a band-like covering for a machine for producing sheet material, in particular paper or cardboard. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a method by which such a belt-like covering can be incorporated into a machine for producing sheet material, as well as a belt-like covering for a machine for producing sheet material.
In machines for the production of web material, so for example machines for the production of paper or cardboard, elongated, endless bands or fabrics are used in various areas, which has the function of transporting the web material to be produced or also the processing, in particular the drainage in press sections, have. For this purpose, bands or fabrics with ribbon-like substrates are often used, which have an open, so porous structure. Tissue bands or spiral ligament bands, also known as "spiral linc fabrics" or "spiral fabrics", have proved to be particularly advantageous here. In order to be able to locally influence the surface property or also the permeability, it is known to apply an application with continuous or discrete pattern on or in such belt-like substrates.

The use of this known from the prior art approach is problematic when the fabric to be coated works in a paper machine or the like, although in an endless configuration, but is not manufactured in an endless configuration, but at least has a seam area. At such a seam region, the two end regions of the clothing lying there can be detached from one another in order to install in this way the open clothing, that is, not in endless configuration, into a paper machine or the like. After installation, the two end regions are connected to each other again, for example by an elongated connecting element. This means that the separation of the two end regions must also be possible if application material is provided on the substrate of the clothing. In general, this means that the pattern of the job must be chosen so that it leaves the seam area free, in order to be able to separate or connect the end areas from one another there.
It is the object of the present invention to provide a method for producing a band-like covering for a machine for producing sheet material, In particular, paper or cardboard to provide, with which also in a provided with at least one seam area band-like substrate, any order pattern can be generated.
- a) providing a ribbon-like substrate having at least one seam region extending substantially in the transverse direction of the substrate,
- b) applying an application to the belt-like substrate such that the application extends over at least one seam area,
- c) cutting the job along at least one seam area.
In the procedure according to the invention, therefore, the application is cut after its application to the belt-like substrate and optionally after a curing process, specifically where the belt-like substrate may have to be separated in order to incorporate the strip-like fabric thus produced in a machine for the production of web material to be able to. This makes it possible, in the case of measure b), to apply the application with any desired pattern and, above all, also over the seam region. It is not necessary to ensure that the seam area is kept free. This has the advantage that when using a strip-like fabric produced in this way, no structuring generated by interrupting the application in the seam region is also produced in the web material to be produced. In particular, this also contributes to the fact that the severing of the application in the seam area after opening and reclosing the seam area leads to a configuration in which the adjoining areas of the severed job are present as though they were not actually separated.
For example, the coating may be constructed of polymeric material and may be applied to the tape-like substrate in a continuous and / or discrete application pattern. Completely independent of the structure with which this pattern is formed, it can be guided over the at least one seam area in any desired manner.
In order to achieve a stable connection with the belt-like substrate and also to be able to produce the desired effect, for example influencing the permeability, it is proposed that the application penetrate into the belt-like substrate with a penetrating depth of 5% to 100%.
In the band-like substrate to be used in the method according to the invention, provision can be made, for example, for the seam area in the seam areas lying end regions of the strip-like substrate overlapping positioned loops, through which a substantially in the substrate transverse direction extending, elongated connecting element for connecting the two end portions passed through. To achieve this, the tape-like substrate can be constructed in various ways. For example, it may be formed as a spiral link belt, also known as "spiral linc fabric", or as a woven belt. Both the spiral link belt and the woven belt have connecting loops at the end portions, either formed by cloth loops or formed by loop-like portions of the spiral band members.
The measure c) may include cutting the application along the elongate connecting element. In order to be able to realize this with high precision, it is proposed that the course of the elongate connecting element is optically detected and that a severing device is guided along the elongated connecting element based on the result of the optical detection.
- A) removing an elongated connecting element from a seam region of the belt-like substrate,
- B) incorporating the open fabric into a machine for producing web material,
- C) closing the seam portion by inserting an elongated fastener into the overlapping loops in the end portions of the tape-like substrate to be joined together.
In order to be able to obtain even more markedly the effect of a possible non-existent interruption of the application in a seam area with the band-like clothing produced according to the invention, it is further proposed that the method comprises a measure D) for reconnecting the job severed in the region of at least one seam area after Implementation of measure C). This reconnection can include, for example, by gluing, fusing or ultrasonic welding of the cut job.
According to a further aspect, the present invention relates to a belt-like covering, in particular for a machine for producing web material, in particular paper or cardboard, comprising a belt-like substrate having at least one seam region extending substantially in a transverse direction of the substrate, in which end regions of the belt-like substrate are elongated and overlapping arranged by overlapping loops of the end portions led connecting element connected or connectable, wherein on the belt-like substrate is provided over an order extending over at least one seam area and severed along at least one seam area order.
For example, the coating may be formed of polymeric material and applied to the tape-like substrate with a continuous and / or discrete application pattern.
The ribbon-like substrate may comprise a plurality of helically wound members extending substantially in a transverse direction of the substrate, which are arranged overlapping one another with loop-like regions and being connected to one another by an elongate connecting element guided through the loop-like regions arranged in an overlapping manner.
Alternatively, it is of course possible that the ribbon-like substrate comprises a fabric substrate with fabric loops provided in the end regions to be joined together in the seam area.
In order to provide a completely closed structure in the area of the order in a belt-like fabric integrated into a machine for producing web material, even if a seam area which has been opened for installation is closed again, it is further suggested that the application severed in the region of at least one seam area is preferred is reconnected by gluing, fusing or ultrasonic welding.

To influence the properties of the fabric constructed with such a substrate for a machine for producing web material can, for example, on the side of the belt-like substrate, with which also the web material to be produced or the starting material for it to come into contact, an
Man erkennt in
After the present in open configuration fabric has been incorporated into a machine for the production of web material, the two
There is then a completely closed structure of both the ribbon-
It can be seen from the foregoing description that in the case of the procedure according to the invention or the covering according to the invention, an application with any pattern and of course also of any desired material can be provided. As already mentioned, it is advantageous to use elastomer material or polymer material which may optionally have hydrophobic properties, hydrophilic properties or locally different hydrophobic and hydrophilic properties and should preferably withstand temperatures of at least up to 250 ° C.
In an alternative approach for incorporating a fabricated with a
It should be pointed out here that the particular advantages of the procedure according to the invention or the covering according to the invention are described above in connection with the use in a machine for the production of web material has been described. It is to be understood that the present invention may find application not only to tape-like fabrics of such machines for making web material, such as paper machines. Of course, it can be used in any other industrial application in which such elongate and generally in endless configuration operating fabrics are used.
