Abstract

For a connector (1), for receiving with electric pin or socket contacts (40) assembled electrical individual conductors (46), it is proposed to insert the electrical contacts in longitudinally aligned and semi-open contact chambers (31) of an insulating support body (30) and to insert the carrier body into a plug sleeve (3) surrounding it, a longitudinal rib (24) projecting inside the plug sleeve being provided for aligning the electrical contacts (40) in the contact chambers (31). In this case, the plug sleeve (3) consists of a first plug part (10), a second plug part (15) and a carrier sleeve (20), wherein the first plug-side plug part (10) on the support sleeve (20) is rotatably disposed, while the second to the cable connection side facing plug part (15) is firmly connected to the carrier sleeve (20).

  • The invention relates to a connector for connection for multicore prefabricated electrical conductors, in which one end of the electrical single conductor is already firmly connected to a pin or socket contact.
  • Such a connector has a considerable ease in assembly with pre-assembled electrical conductors.
  • State of the art
  • From the DE 20 2006 000 336 U1 is a connector with a simplified cable management known, in which also electrical conductors, connected to pin or socket contacts, are inserted into semi-open chambers of a cylindrical body.
  • Furthermore, in the DE 20 2005 017 981 U1 a contact holder for an electrical connector with a contact carrier for electrical contacts on cable strands described in which a belonging to an insulating body insulating sleeve, end-to-end openings for the electrical contacts.
  • A disadvantage of the known such connectors, that always a fixing sleeve is provided with holes through which the contacts must be inserted.

  • The invention is therefore based on the object to develop a connector for prefabricated with pin contacts or socket contacts electrical conductor with an extremely simple handling with reduced components.
  • This object is achieved in that the pin contacts or socket contacts with the electrical individual conductors are inserted into half-open contact chambers aligned along a carrier body,

  • Advantageous embodiments of the invention are specified in claims 2-6.
  • The advantages achieved by the invention are in particular that the otherwise required for this type passages of an insulating plug housing omitted, through which the plug side of the cable strands connected pin or socket contacts must be inserted.
    The plug connector according to the invention has a circular connector, a carrier body with axially arranged, semi-open contact chambers, in which pin or socket contacts are advantageously inserted.
    Subsequently, the carrier body is inserted into a plug sleeve, which is formed from a carrier sleeve with a first and a second plug part inserted. And then the connector sleeve is screwed with a conventional pressure screw, whereby the electrical cable is fixed.
  • Due to the slightly larger diameter of the sheath of the electrical individual conductors relative to the diameter of the pin or socket contacts, the plug-side ends are advantageously aligned in the fixation within the connector sleeve in the direction of the center. As a result, a certain pressure is always exerted on the contacts in the mating connector during the plugging process.
    Depending on the application, the plug sleeve can be made of an electrically conductive metallic or a non-conductive material.

  • 1 shows a connector 1 in an exploded, isometric view, which is formed from a plug sleeve 3, a carrier body 30, a sealing insert 7 with a slide ring 9 and a pressure screw 5.
    The plug sleeve consists of plug parts 10, 15, which are placed on an inner support sleeve 20.
    By means of the pressure screw 5, which is screwed onto the plug sleeve 3, the inserted inside the sealing insert 7 electrical cable 44 is fixed to the electrical individual conductors 46.

  • FIG. 2 shows the carrier body 30 to be received within the plug sleeve 3 in isolated fashion. The carrier body is provided as a cylindrical body with two different diameters 35, 36 and here four axially aligned contact chambers 31, which are arranged in a circle and uniformly spaced from each other.
    The half-open, elongated contact chambers 31 are adapted in diameter to the sheath of the male electrical conductors 46 and the pin or socket contacts 40 crimped on them, so that they are at least provisionally held in the contact chambers 31 during assembly, until the carrier body 30 in the plug sleeve 20 is inserted.
    For a precisely fitting arrangement of the pin or socket contacts, a positioning recesses 32 is provided in each contact chamber, into which correspondingly integrally formed on the pin or socket contacts 40 positioning projections 42 are used.
  • 3 shows a cutaway view of the here metallically executed plug sleeve 3 with two plug parts 10, 15 which are arranged rotatable against each other on a non-conductive support sleeve 20.
    In this case, the connection-side plug part 15 is fixedly connected to the carrier sleeve 20, while the plug side facing the plug part 10 on the Carrier sleeve 20 is rotatably held captive by a collar 21 on the support sleeve.
    Both plug parts have an external thread 12, 17 and a collar 11, 21 with an attached knurled design.
    While the mating side facing external thread 12 is provided for connection to a mating connector, the external thread 17 is provided for fixing with the pressure screw 5.
    When screwing with the pressure screw 5, the elastic sealing insert 7 is pressed against the inner wall of the pressure screw, wherein the guided in the sealing insert electrical cable 44 is positively applied and protects the connector against environmental influences.
    Furthermore, four short projections are provided on the elastic sealing insert 7, which are in engagement with provided in the support sleeve 20 Ausnehmungen29 so that when screwing the pressure screw 5 on the plug sleeve 3, the sealing insert 7 is fixed against rotation relative to the connector sleeve.

  • A further longitudinal rib 27 in the insertion region of the carrier sleeve 20 is provided for polarization with a corresponding mating connector.
  • Furthermore, the plug-side ends of the electrical contacts 40 are due to the larger diameter of the sheath of the electrical conductors relative to the actual diameter of the electrical contacts 40, within the parallel contact chambers 31 slightly obliquely aligned towards the center, which has a very positive effect on the contacting properties of pin and socket contact.

Claims (6)

  1. Plug connector for connecting multi-core prefabricated electrical conductors, in which one end of the electrical individual conductors is already firmly connected to a pin or socket contact,
    characterized,
    in that the pin or socket contacts (40) with the electrical individual conductors (46) are inserted in half-open contact chambers (31) aligned along a carrier body (30),
    in that the carrier body (30) is inserted into a plug sleeve (3) surrounding it, the plug sleeve being formed from a first plug part (10) and a second plug part (15) arranged on a carrier sleeve (20) open on both sides, and
    in that the pin or socket contacts (40) aligned in the contact chambers (31) of the carrier body (30) are fixed by means of longitudinal ribs (24) arranged correspondingly in the carrier sleeve (20).
  2. Connector according to claim 1, characterized
    in that the plug sleeve (3) is designed in two parts, wherein a first plug part (10) facing the plug side is freely rotatable on the carrier sleeve (20) and held by means of a collar (21), and
    in that the second plug part (15) facing the cable connection side is firmly connected to the carrier sleeve (20).
  3. Connector according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the carrier sleeve (20) has inwardly facing, axially aligned and raised longitudinal ribs (24).
