Abstract

Advertising display for vehicles; of the type that comprises strips of a flexible material that include posters or graphics, the strips moving alternately between rollers at each end by means of the corresponding motorisation (5), transmission, position-capturing and control elements (8), equipped with a frame (2) and protective casing with windows in the intermediate areas of the path of the strips for displaying the posters or graphics, and equipped with inner lighting; characterised in that it comprises two pairs of horizontal lateral rollers (3a,3b,4a,4b), each pair having an upper roller and a lower roller, and each pair of rollers having a separate flexible strip with the posters or advertisements that follow an appreciably vertical path.

Description

    OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention relates to an advertising display for vehicles such as taxis, commercial vehicles, or any other vehicle in general.
  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • The main means of displaying advertisements and similar information on vehicles currently consists of applying graphics directly to the vehicle's paintwork and even to its windows. Also, panels with graphics are mounted on fixed frames. However, both cases present problems of limited versatility when it comes to offering several advertising messages or updating the displayed advertisements.
  • To overcome these drawbacks, the applicant is also the owner of model 200202848 relating to an advertising display for vehicles, which consists of a strip of a flexible material with transparent pockets into which advertising posters can be interchangeably inserted, the strip alternately moving, by means of the corresponding motor and transmission, between two vertical cartridges or rollers at each end, passing over a displaced central roller that forces the strip to describe an angular path, the straight sides of which are the visible areas where the advertising can be seen. The assembly is covered by a practicable casing that is transparent in said areas, which is also used to attach it to the vehicle, with inner lighting that enables it to be seen at night.
  • This display, however, is limited in terms of its capacity to offer information, as it comprises a single strip for all the advertising messages. Moreover, given the angular shape of the parts that display the advertisement, it is more difficult to see from backward angles.
  • These drawbacks are overcome by the use of the display of the invention.
  • DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • The display of the invention has an optimum design that improves its viewing and capacity to offer advertising messages from a vehicle, typically a taxi.
  • According to the invention, the display comprises two strips of a flexible material with the advertising messages either directly printed thereon or interchangeably incorporated into transparent pockets or hooks provided thereon. Each strip moves alternately between two horizontal parallel rollers or cartridges that are rotated at each end by means of a single or multiple motorisation and the corresponding transmissions.
  • The invention presents the main feature that said rollers are positioned one above the other in each pair, so that the corresponding strip follows an appreciably vertical path to be viewed on one of the sides of the vehicle, the other strip moving over the other side to therefore be viewed on the other side of the vehicle. This makes it possible to situate the vertical planes displaying the information independently on each side, which improves their viewing, especially if situated in lateral positions parallel to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle. Logically, there are elements for controlling the position of the strips that work with a control to actuate the motor or motors, which makes it possible to stop each message in the display position for a suitable length of time.
  • There is also a protective casing with windows or transparent parts in suitable areas for the messages or advertisements to be displayed, which is in the central part of the path of each strip between its end rollers, the casing including inner lighting so that the advertising can be seen at night.
  • The elements described above are attached to a frame on the casing, the necessary means of attaching it to the vehicle's roof being provided on the frame and/or the casing.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
    • Figure 1 shows a view of the vehicle equipped with the display of the invention.
    • Figure 2 shows a diagram of the mechanism of the display of the invention.
    • Figure 3 shows a diagram of the position of the strips of the display of the invention.
DESCRIPTION OF A PRACTICAL EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION
  • The display 1 of the invention comprises a frame 2 with two pairs of parallel horizontal lateral rollers 3,4, one of them 3a or 4a positioned above the other 3b or 4b in the pair, equipped with at least one synchronised motor 5 for the actuation thereof, which can work with spring rollers, which are not shown. The invention also contemplates the inclusion of two motors, one per pair, as can be seen in figure 2, or even the inclusion of separate motors for one or all of the rollers.
  • A laminar body or strip 6 moves between the rollers in each pair in an appreciably vertical direction, being rolled alternately therebetween. This laminar body includes different graphics, either directly printed thereon or inserted into pockets or onto hooks provided for that purpose as part of the laminar body 6. The motors and/or the transmissions include the implements, e.g. encoders, end of run sensors 7 and suchlike, which work with the corresponding electronic control 8 to sequentially or programmably stop the different graphics in the central area 9 between the two rollers, so that they may be displayed.
  • The display includes a protective casing 10 wherein the corresponding windows or transparent areas 11 are provided, whereby the area 9, and therefore the advertisements, will be displayed. There is also inner lighting, which is not shown, inside the casing that makes it possible to see it at night or in low-lighting conditions.
  • Lastly, there are fastenings, which are not shown, on the casing and/or the frame of the display to attach it to the roof of the vehicle.
  • Having sufficiently described the nature of the invention and its practical embodiment, it must be stated that the aforementioned arrangements, which are shown in the attached drawings, may be subject to modifications in terms of details, provided that they do not alter its fundamental principle.
