Description
- The present invention relates to elements for disassemblable display racks and display racks made with these elements, among display racks made with cardboard sheets.
- The invention is characterised by a special construction of these display rack elements, constituted by several aligned vertical trays with an internal multi-grooved dihedron for male-female insertion in antagonistic grooves of another piece with a multiple-T configuration aligned horizontally, these bodies forming the inner pillars of the display rack structure and both being incorporated in the conventional outer drawer of the display rack, preferably provided with a pedestal of any kind.
- In addition to a conventional drawer, a large graphic message can be incorporated by serigraphy on the display rack on a large front panel that is provided with internal flaps, while the outer sides of the two end pillars are extended increasing in size in a downwards direction in order to reinforce the support, while a U-bar can be attached for the same purposes.
- If only the aforementioned large panel is provided, the multiple double-T configuration can also be formed by the simple pillars and a common rear panel that is provided with a central prop also to strengthen the support.
- A distant antecedent of this invention are classifiers used in railway mail cars, in which postal workers classified letters according to the order of the railroad route.
- These classification drawers were split into a multiplicity of smaller drawers defining rows and columns formed by wooden slats with multiple grooves half-way to their base, the slats defining columns and rows being interconnected in an antagonistic arrangement.
- The applicant is not aware of the existence of other display means that incorporate self-inserting drawers or trays with the simplicity and effectiveness of the invention described below.
- The present invention relates to components for disassemblable display racks, from among the various elements used in combination for constructing display racks, made of cut-out, perforated, grooved and clipped cardboard sheets.
- This invention is characterised by a special construction of these display rack elements, constituted by a diversity of vertically aligned trays with double guards and a bevelled front face, as well as incorporating in the dihedron of its internal guard one central groove or several grooves equidistant from each other.
- These grooves of the trays allow the male-female connection in another or several other antagonistic grooves of another part in a T, double-T or multiple-T configuration in a horizontal alignment by joining the corresponding opposite wings, the respective bodies constituting the inner pillars of the supporting structure of the display rack trays.
- The supporting structure of the trays is manufactured continuously by consecutive segments of double pillars and bases, with no limitation other than that determined by the cutting and serigraphy machines, which generally do not exceed a length of 3.6 m.
- With this structure and the remaining pieces, except the front pieces, it is possible to build finished display rack bodies with several prints in flat tones and to successively adjoin the front pieces with the advertising designs of different campaigns, thereby using these bodies and replacing the front pieces quickly, allowing to rotate campaigns with great savings in cost not only due to reusing the display rack body but also due to the low replacement cost of the front pieces.
- The greater or lesser structural reinforcement of the display rack sides, based on the number of sheets, with at least three pieces on each side, will be determined by the loads that it must support, while allowing to make an efficient use of the continuous original sheet of the structure.
- This invention is also characterised by a special attachment of the tray bases to the bodies and wings of the various T's by fasteners that attach these elements to each other, as well as to the conventional outer drawer.
- To incorporate the aforementioned large graphic message, instead of the conventional drawer, the aforementioned large front panel with internal flaps is used, previously printed with the campaign logo so that the outer face of this sheet is coplanar with the front pieces of the trays and the folds of the T cores, for which purpose the upper and lower segments of these edges are suitably cut at least with the same thickness as the front panel.
- At the same time, the outer sides of the two outermost pillars of the assembly are extended from the rear part only, prolonged so that they increase in size in a downwards direction to define a double triangular supporting protrusion that reinforces the support of the display rack thus constructed.
- In an alternative construction of this display rack the large sheet is maintained but these outermost pillars are not extended, instead adjoining to the rear central part a narrow U-shaped sheet with at least two grooves to provide two outer tabs that wedge the wings of said U-shaped prop.
- The multiple double-T can also be formed by the simple pillars. In this case, the aforementioned U-shaped prop is joined to the common rear panel, which is provided with a central prop that can also be reinforced with the triangular protrusions for support purposes.
- The present descriptive memory is completed by a set of drawings of a preferred embodiment for purposes of illustration only and in a non-limiting sense.

Figure 4 shows two perspective views, a front view and a front elevation view, of an alternative of the display rack described in the preferred embodiment. -
Figure 5 shows another three perspective views of another display rack also described below. -
Figure 6 shows an exploded view of the sheets of the example of embodiment offigure 4 . -
Figure 7 in turn shows an exploded view of the sheets of the example of the embodiment offigure 5 . -
Figure 8 shows some of the combinations of several segments of the structure with complementary sheets, defining different display racks with two, three and four storage columns (views A to F), only for the example with the front sheet without outer flaps, while one of them (B) shows the three possible alternatives (B to B")of the rear panel, valid for any of views A to F. - In view of the above, the present invention relates to elements for disassemblable display racks and the display racks made with these elements, from among those used to make display racks made of cut-out, perforated, grooved and clipped cardboard sheets, essentially characterised in that they are constituted by a diversity of vertically aligned trays (1) and a structure (2) for holding them, provided with double guards (1.1) and (1.2), the inclined front guard (1.1) constituting a bevelled profile (1.3) that rests on the flaps (1.7) which act as extensions of the double end pieces (1.6), as well as a plurality of grooves (1.4) equidistant from each other disposed between the double base (1.5) and the rear guard (1.2) and tabs (1.8) that insert in antagonistic orifices (1.9) for joining the double base (1.5), and finally orifices (1.10) for inserting fasteners (3) that join the trays (1) and the structure (2), as well as these two to the external drawer (4) of the display rack.
- These grooves (1.4) of the trays (1) are inserted in antagonistic grooves (2.1) of the structure part (2) in a T, double-T or multiple-T configuration in a horizontal alignment with a base (2.2) defined by joining the corresponding opposite flaps, while the bodies of the T's are the internal double pillars (2.3) that hold the drawers (1) of the display rack, the front parts of which are obtained from the double fold (2.4) of the double pillars (2.3), the structure (2) also having orifices (2.5) for attaching the rear guards (1.2) of the trays (1) by the fasteners (3).
- A large front panel (5) with orifices and a central groove acts as a front piece and defines two internal flaps (5.1) (front perspective view of
figure 4 andfigure 6 ), the outer face of this sheet being coplanar with the front pieces of the trays (1) and the double folds (2.4) of the double pillars (2.3) by suitable recesses (2.6) of the upper and lower segments of said double folds (2.4), at least with the thickness of the front panel. - In another possible finish (rear perspective of
figure 4 ), the outer drawer (4) of the display rack is replaced by a common rear panel (7) with one or both of its lateral ends having double or simple flaps (7.1), as well as the corresponding supporting triangular protrusion (7.2); in addition, adjoined to the rear central part may be a thin U-shaped sheet (6) (identified in the rear perspective view offigure 5 ) provided with aligned internal central tabs (6.1) that wedge the wings (6.2) increasing the prop. - Alternatively, the tray (1) can have a vertical double front piece (1.1) with its outermost guard (1.6) incorporating a central external tab (1.12) that is inserted in a new groove (1.11) of the bottom sheet of the double base (1.5) of the tray (1).
- In another example (
figures 5 and7 ) both vertical sides of the front panel are partially bent to form wings, defining a new sheet (11) with wings (11.1) and in which are provided orifices (11.2) that allow the trays (1) to pass, and also uses the aligned double or multiple T-configuration of the structural part (2), leaving only the double pillars (3) and incorporating the narrow U-shaped sheet (6) joined to the new common rear sheet (10) that replaces the outer drawer (4) and is provided with tabs (10.1) that are aligned vertically and increase in size in a downwards direction, so that the last one also acts as a prop of the display rack. - Alternatives to the rear closure with vertical panels generated when joining the corresponding edges (2.8) and (2.7) of the structure (2) are defined by a continuous closure using an additional closure sheet with a U-section (shown in
figure 8 , which shows schematically several cross sections of display racks) and with simple wings (7.3) (figure 8 , B' and D) or with only one double wing (7.1 infigure 8 , A, B" and C to F). - A different alternative incorporates (rear perspective view of
figure 4 andfigure 8 , A, B', B" and C to F) the additional closure sheet (8) provided with a triangular prop protrusion (8.1) that receives on its outer side the simple wings of the pieces (7.3) interposed with respect to the inner flap (5.1). This sheet (8) replaces the outer wing of the double wing (7.1). - The sides of these display racks can incorporate bags (
figure 5 ) formed by corresponding sheets (9) that are disposed such that the front piece (9.1) extends downwards as four consecutive pieces wound on themselves to define a parallelogram that supports the elements incorporated in the bag, held on the bottom by a large hooked tab (9.2) and two lateral guards (9.3) placed above that are prolonged as two similar guards (9.4) with opposite end tabs (9.5) for insertion in the grooves (11.3) antagonistic of the sides (11.1) of the display rack. - Obviously, as shown by the two perspective views of
figures 4 and5 , the elements of this invention can be combined to make different display racks, either from the repeated components (2.3 and 2.2) of the common structural element (2) or only the one defining the pillar (2.3). - The essence of this invention is not affected by variations in the materials, shape, size and arrangement of its component elements, described in a non-limiting manner that should allow its reproduction by an expert.
