The present invention is a different solution which makes it possible to produce furniture-displays large sizes delivered flat, easy to install and yet robust.

To this end, the invention relates to a shelf intended to be associated with amounts and in front of receiving articles for storage and / or presentation, characterized in that it is formed by folding a blank of cardboard or similar material cut and grooved to present two large panels separated by a band delimited by two fold lines separated from a distance enough that after folding the large panels following these two lines, one above on the other, there is a space between them in which a rigid reinforcement must be placed.

Referring to Figures 1 and 2, it is seen that a display unit according to the invention comprises on the one hand a body 1 and on the other hand a series of shelves 2, obtained one and the other by folding blanks originally flat, and by wedging legs according to a well-known principle in itself.

The body 1 has a central portion 3 with three orthogonal faces: a rear face 4 and two faces 5 and 6, the front panel does not exist to determine an empty front space 7 determined from the inside of the faces 4, 5 and 6 and intended to receive the shelves 2 described below.

The central portion 3 is integral with a lower portion 8 having three faces, two of which are located in the extension of the faces 5 and 6 and a front face 9, under the space 7, which is inclined to ground a perimeter rectangle larger than that of the central part 3 to ensure good stability of the whole. A vertical peripheral band 10 is applied to the base of the lower part 8 to consolidate the whole.

The central portion 3 is also secured to an upper portion 11 comprising a pediment 12 and lateral returns 13 located in the extension of the lateral faces 5 and 6 (only one is visible in Figure 1).

In fact, the body 1 is formed of several blanks of corrugated cardboard cut, scored and printed which are delivered flat and stored as well until assembly of the complete display cabinet. In addition to the price of corrugated cardboard, the flat blanks are easily folded and grouped together. a package of small footprint and therefore easily handled, transported and stored, all leading to a reasonable cost price.

A first blank constitutes the central portion 3 and comprises a large bottom panel formed by the rear face 4 and two lateral wings formed by the faces 5 and 6 and by two returns 15 and 16 resulting from the folding of the blank according to four parallel lines spaced two by two to form two uprights in facade 17 and 18, creating two internal spaces 19 (only one is visible on the drawing).

The lateral wings formed by the faces 5-6 and by the returns 15-16 form amounts for the shelves 2, as will be described in detail below.

The lower part is formed by the assembly of the base of the central part 3 and a second blank comprising the inclined face 9 and two substantially triangular returns 20 (one only is visible in the drawing) provided with tabs 21 with hooks, engaged in slots of facade amounts 17 and 18.

This set can rest on a pallet (not visible on the drawing) and a third blank forming the peripheral strip 10 makes it possible to conceal the sides of the pallet, strip 10 which is fixed in place by any known means.

A fourth blank comprises the upper part 11, that is to say the pediment 12 and the two returns lateral 13, these being provided with lower tabs 22 engaged in the internal spaces 19. Each shelf 2 is obtained from a blank cut and scored as shown in Figure 3.

The flat blank has two large panels 31 and 32 separated by a strip 33 delimited by two fold lines 34 and 35, the latter having in addition rounded cutouts 36. The large panel 31 is integral on the one hand with a transverse flange 37 holding by a fold line 38 parallel to the lines 34 and 35, and on the other hand two lateral flanges 41 and 42 holding by folding lines 43 and 44.

The transverse flange 37 is integral with a flap 45 holding by a double fold line 46 and having two legs 47.

The lateral flanges 41 and 42 are each integral with a shutter respectively 48 and 49 holding by double fold lines 51 and 52 and each having two legs 53.

In addition, the lateral flanges 41 and 42 are extended by an end flap 54 respectively. and 55 holding by fold lines 56 and 57.

The large panel 31 is traversed by openings 58 located against the fold line 38, 59 located against the fold line 43 and 60 located against the fold line 44. The lateral flanges 41 and 42 and the flaps 48 and 49 have a substantially trapezoidal shape and the fold lines 43-44 and 51-52 are oriented in such a way with respect to the legs 53 that after folding according to these lines, the tabs 53 are opposite apertures 59 and 60 and can enter there to lock as will be explained later.

To obtain a shelf 2 from the blank of Figure 3, first flip the large panel 32 over the large panel 31 according to the two fold lines 34 and 35, the cutouts 36 giving birth to rounded legs 61 (Figures 2 and 4) which remain in the plane of the strip 33, which forms the front edge of the shelf 2.

Then the end tabs 54 and 55 are folded along the lines 56 and 57, the flanges are straightened lateral portions 41 and 42 along the lines 43 and 44, as well as the transverse flange 37 along the line 38, then fold down the flap 45 which covers the end tabs 54 and 55 and holds them in position, which ensures the vertical position of the lateral flanges 41 and 42 by preventing them from returning to their original position, flat. The folded flap is immobilized by means of the tabs 47 introduced into the openings 58.

The flaps 48 and 49 are then folded along the lines 51 and 52 against the flanges 41 and 42 and are then immobilized by means of the tabs 53 introduced into the openings 59 and 60.

The large panel 32 is held by the flaps 48 and 49 whose edges are located above margins of this large panel 32, the finished shelf 2 then presenting itself as in the figure 4.

In order to guarantee the robustness and the rigidity of this shelf 2, a rigid reinforcement is placed along the front edge of said shelf 2.

Here, this reinforcement is constituted by a wooden batten 70 with a rectangular section, of standard type used in practice, engaged in the space 71 that remains between the two large panels 31 and 32 (Figure 2). The cleat 70 can be fixed in its place, in particular by gluing.

To associate shelves 2 to the display case body 1, openings 72 are provided in the two internal returns 15 and 16 (FIGS. 1, 2 and 5 to 8) in order to accommodate known type supports 73 that we will not describe in detail, their structure being self-contained.

Referring to FIGS. 5 to 8, it can be seen that to place a support 73, it is engaged from below to high in an opening 72 according to the arrow F1, then it is rotated according to the arrow F2 and finally it is brought into final position by dragging it up and down along arrow F3 until that it comes into abutment against the lower edge of the opening 72.

Then, a shelf 2 is placed on the horizontal part 74 of the support 73, as this is represented in FIG. 8 in a very schematic way, since it has not represented a actual cut of the shelf 2 described above, for the sake of simplification of the drawing.

In Figure 1, there is shown the upper shelf 2 being implemented by translation according to the arrows F4, above the horizontal portion 74 of the supports 73.

One could provide two sets of openings 72, staged two by two at the same level, so that a shelf 2 rests on two supports 73 by its two lateral sides but, here, it is represented a particular embodiment according to which only one series of openings is provided 72 on each internal return 15-16 and it avoids an accidental pivoting of the shelves 2 and providing on each of them 75 tabs cut in the transverse flap 45 and folded towards the rear along a double fold line 76 (Figures 2, 3 and 4) located in the extension of the double fold line 46, each leg 75 to be engaged in an opening 76 of the face back 4 and then applied down to get stuck behind a narrowed bottom part of each opening 76.

Thus, each shelf 2 is secured to the rear face 4 of the display unit and is supported rigidly. The tabs 75 serve as a non-return lock of the shelf 2 and prevents it from lifting. With the example shown, the large panels 31 and 32 are traversed by numerous openings aligned to receive tabs of subdivision partitions not shown, allowing to store in several series the items offered for sale and arranged on the shelves 2.

It follows from the description above, that the invention makes it possible to produce furniture displays large and robust, while using an economical material that comes under form of flat blanks easily transportable and easy to assemble by very economical means. The invention makes it possible to produce different modules according to the number and spacing of shelves, according to the articles to present.
