Definitions
- the invention relates to a calender for the treatment of a web, in particular a paper web, according to the preamble of claim 1.
- a calender with a longitudinally inclined to the horizontal inclined stand on which a roll stack is arranged with a likewise inclined stack level.
- the roll stack has end rolls and a plurality of intermediate rolls which are arranged on the underside of the stand.
- the lower and upper rollers are fixable by hydraulic tensioning devices on the stand.
- the center rollers are carried by levers which are pivotable about pivot points in the stand and can cooperate with a stop which fixes their position when lowering the rollers.
- the levers are approximately transversely to the stack level.
- a calender with a stack of rolls which has at least four rollers whose axes lie in a plane inclined to the horizontal stacking plane, wherein at least the intermediate rollers located between the end rollers are mounted on levers, which act on force generators.
- the roll stack is located on an upper side of the stand.
- the inclination of the roll stack has, inter alia, the advantage that the weight of the center rolls is relieved to about 30%.
- the levers are approximately perpendicular to the stack level. They are pivotable by a limited angle, which allows a roller separation and the use of a roller through a roller of other diameters.
- the force generators are piston-cylinder units, which form an effective attenuator during the roller separation.
- the levers are double-armed and can be pivoted to an approximately vertical position, in order to be able to compensate for the middle roll weight and virtually completely compensate it.
- a roller separation is possible here only by approaching certain angular positions of the lever. The requirements for a rapid quick separation can therefore not be met.
- a calender for web-shaped materials, such as paper, having a stand and a roll stack comprising a bottom roll, a top roll, and at least one center roll disposed therebetween.
- the stack level of the roll stack is inclined to the horizontal.
- the displacement is done by hydraulic cylinders to control the transverse movement in a simple manner.
- the disadvantage is the requirement for additional control.
- the transverse movement can also lead to undesirable roller contacts in web breaks.
- the object of the invention is therefore to provide a calender according to the preamble of claim 1, which provides very good smoothness results while allowing a quick quick release to open the roll stack.
- a calender which uses the gravity effect of the roll weights for roller separation and thereby enables rapid roll separation.
- the known compensation possibilities of the self-weight forces for setting a line load characteristic can be used.
- the calender is also vibration resistant and allows easy roll change.
- the roll stack may have a selectable number of center rolls.
- the at least one center roller is suspended vertically in an open and closed roll stack in a support lever.
- the center roll is freed of its own weight component and the force component of the overhanging weights that would otherwise act in the nip, by their perfect compensation. This allows an exact initiation and adjustment of the line loads or compressive stresses in the nip. This also gives the precise control of the calendering results.
- the center roll or the center rolls are individually lowered under the influence of their own weight forces, preferably only in the vertical direction.
- the lever carrying a center roller is then loaded only by tensile forces and is always in a statically determined, balanced, ie stable position.
- the roll stack is thereby constructed vibration-damping. The formation of vibration-exciting impulses, which otherwise cause the impression of a deformation pattern, in particular in the elastic rollers, is prevented. The risk of damage to the elastic rollers is significantly reduced.
- a simple vertical movability of the lever of a center roller can be used, whereby a relative movement to the adjacent rollers is made possible.
- the vertical mobility of the lever of a center roller can be realized by a built-in lever in the hydraulic cylinder, which can enhance the damping when lowering the rollers.
- the at least one center roll is vertically suspended with a stack of rolls in a support lever, with spacing of the roll body of the center roll to the adjacent rolls.
- the lever of the at least one center roll is slightly swung from the vertical position. If there are several intermediate rolls, this swinging out is stepped. In the quick release process, the lever or levers are relieved and return to their vertical position. As a result, the rollers are separated as quickly as possible and can be supported on damping power cylinders.
- FIGS. 1 and 2 show a calender 1 for the treatment of a web, in particular a paper, board or textile web, with at least one adjustable between an open and a closed position roll stack 2 from each of an upper end roll 3 and a lower end roll 4 and at least one intermediate roll 5, 6, 7, 8, which are arranged together in a plane inclined to the horizontal stacking plane S on a bottom 9 of a stand 10.
- the at least one intermediate roller 5, 6, 7, 8 is mounted on a lever 10, 12, 13, 14 held on the stand 10.
- the in Fig. 2 is shown, the at least one intermediate roller 5, 6, 7, 8 as a hanging on the associated lever 11, 12, 13, 14 suspended weight body hanging down freely on the stand 10.
- the at least one intermediate roller 5, 6, 7, 8 is preferably supported by a vertically suspended lever 11, 12, 13, 14.
- the roll stack 2 is thus a 6-roll stack, which can be provided for a two-sided treatment of a web.
- the roll stack 2 preferably comprises hard and soft rolls for forming soft nips.
- two adjacent intermediate rolls 6, 7 can furthermore be formed as soft rolls.
- the illustrated calender has a stand 10 which extends at an angle of about 45 ° to a horizontal footprint H. At the head end, the stand 10 is connected to a shelf support 16 via a longitudinal member 15.
- the roll stack 2 hangs on the underside 9 of the upright 10, with a stacking plane S in the closed position of the roll stack 2, as in FIG FIG. 1 shown, which also extends at an angle of about 45 ° to the horizontal footprint H.
- the stack level may have a pitch in the range of 40 to 50 degrees.
- the upper end roller 3 and the lower end roller 4 are mounted in brackets 17, 18, in particular linear guides, which can be fastened to the stand 10, preferably optionally slidable. From at least one end of the roll stack 2 can be loaded, including a hydraulic cylinder 19 is provided, which acts here on the holder 18 of the lower end roll 4 and the holder 18 together with the lower end roll 4 in the stacking plane S shifts.
- the upper and lower end rollers 3, 4 are also preferably bending adjusting rollers.
- the center rollers 5, 6, 7, 8 are mounted with their bearings on the associated levers 11, 12, 13, 14, about pivot axes 20, 21, 22, 23 on the stand 10 directly or to associated brackets 24, 25, 26, 27th , which are fastened to the stand 10, as in FIG. 2 shown, are pivotable.
- the intermediate rollers 5, 6, 7, 8 are held on the associated lever 11, 12, 13, 14 hanging down, to which the levers 11, 12, 13, 14 are formed with one arm or two arms.
- the levers 11, 12, 13, 14 are formed with two arms to hang the levers 11, 12, 13, 14 via pivot axes 20, 21, 22, 23 to the brackets 24, 25, 26, 27.
- the swing arch can then be made tight.
- the levers 11, 12, 13, 14 are held at a plurality of intermediate rollers 5, 6, 7, 8 spaced from each other on the stand 10, that in the closed position of the roller stack 2 all intermediate rollers hang freely down and are preferably supported vertically suspended.
- the intermediate rollers 5, 6, 7, 8 suspended from the levers 11, 12, 13, 14 are fastened to each other in a positionable manner on the stand 10, so that for each roller diameter of an intermediate roller 5, 6, 7 , 8 for the freely downwardly suspended intermediate rollers closing the roll stack is adjustable
- the levers 11, 12, 13, 14 can be loaded by force transmitters in the form of piston-cylinder units 28, 29, 30, 31.
- the force transmitters 28, 29, 30, 31 engage opposite ends at the end carrying the weight body of the intermediate roll.
- the levers 11, 12, 13, 14 can be extended, for which purpose cylinder units can be provided.
- an extensibility is provided when more than one intermediate roll 5, 6, 7, 8 are provided. If the levers 11, 12, 13, 14 of the intermediate rolls 5, 6, 7, 8 are chosen to be of different lengths, then the roll stack is separated by offset downwardly depending center rolls 5, 6, 7, 8, when the end rolls 3, 4 are moved to the outside. The directions of movement are indicated by arrows.
- the rolls 3 to 8 constituting the roll stack 2 can have all different roll diameters.

This object is solved by the features of claim 1.
As a result, a calender is created, which uses the gravity effect of the roll weights for roller separation and thereby enables rapid roll separation. The known compensation possibilities of the self-weight forces for setting a line load characteristic can be used. The calender is also vibration resistant and allows easy roll change.
The roll stack may have a selectable number of center rolls.
According to a preferred embodiment, the at least one center roller is suspended vertically in an open and closed roll stack in a support lever. As a result, the center roll is freed of its own weight component and the force component of the overhanging weights that would otherwise act in the nip, by their perfect compensation. This allows an exact initiation and adjustment of the line loads or compressive stresses in the nip. This also gives the precise control of the calendering results. In the quick release process, the center roll or the center rolls are individually lowered under the influence of their own weight forces, preferably only in the vertical direction. The lever carrying a center roller is then loaded only by tensile forces and is always in a statically determined, balanced, ie stable position. The roll stack is thereby constructed vibration-damping. The formation of vibration-exciting impulses, which otherwise cause the impression of a deformation pattern, in particular in the elastic rollers, is prevented. The risk of damage to the elastic rollers is significantly reduced.
For opening and closing the roller stack, a simple vertical movability of the lever of a center roller can be used, whereby a relative movement to the adjacent rollers is made possible. The deceleration forces introduced during the quick-release process, which act in their separating position until the rollers stop, also ensure vibration-free operation. The vertical mobility of the lever of a center roller can be realized by a built-in lever in the hydraulic cylinder, which can enhance the damping when lowering the rollers.
According to another preferred embodiment, the at least one center roll is vertically suspended with a stack of rolls in a support lever, with spacing of the roll body of the center roll to the adjacent rolls. To close the roll stack, the lever of the at least one center roll is slightly swung from the vertical position. If there are several intermediate rolls, this swinging out is stepped. In the quick release process, the lever or levers are relieved and return to their vertical position. As a result, the rollers are separated as quickly as possible and can be supported on damping power cylinders.
