Abstract
Disclosed is a flame retardant thermoplastic resin composition containing 50-250 parts by mass of an inorganic flame retardant (b) per 100 parts by mass of a thermoplastic resin (a). The component (a) is composed of one or more substances selected from α-olefin (co)polymers (a-1), thermoplastic elastomers (a-2) and rubbers (a-3), and 0.01-0.5% by mass of an unsaturated monomer unit having a carboxylic acid group or an acid anhydride group is contained in the component (a). The component (b) is composed of 40-95% by mass of an inorganic metal hydrate (b-1) and 5-60% by mass of an inorganic filler (b-2). The component (b-2) has an average particle diameter of not more than 2 μm and an aspect ratio of not more than 1.5. Also disclosed are a molded article made of such a composition, and an electric wire having a coating made of such a composition.
