Definitions

  • the invention relates to a sports shoe, especially for a gliding board such as ski, surf, or skating shoe, having to cope with sometimes conflicting constraints in terms of comfort, rigidity and decoration. It relates more precisely the structure of the side walls of such shoes. It also relates to its manufacturing process.
  • a ski boot for example, requires considerable rigidity of a portion of its sidewalls extending from the tibia to the sole in order to allow the user to accurately guide the gliding apparatus and to feel the response of the skier. gear to his solicitations.
  • the shoes generally consist of parts in a rigid plastic material.
  • these shoes must also have acceptable comfort and attractive aesthetics, while keeping the cost as low as possible to meet commercial success.
  • a first solution of the prior art is to manufacture a shoe according to a bi-injection process, which allows the complementary and combined use of two plastic materials of different mechanical characteristics, the thickness and stiffness of each material being provided on the shoe according to mechanical constraints and comfort constraints.
  • This solution also makes it possible to optimize the amount of material needed in any location of the shoe and to optimize the overall weight of the shoe.
  • This structure in two materials bi or surinjected gives some response to the requirements of rigidity and comfort.
  • this solution is sometimes insufficient in terms of rigidity. Increasing its rigidity would require increasing the thickness of its wall, which would increase its weight and cost unsatisfactorily.
  • this technique is limited to an application with certain plastic materials compatible with each other and with properties such that they can be injected with the same injection devices. Thus, polyurethane and polyethylene are generally used.
  • this solution offers possibilities for decorating shoes quite limited.
  • a second solution provides for the insertion of reinforcements positioned on predefined locations of the side walls of the shoes requiring greater rigidity.
  • These reinforcements are composed of a fiber reinforced plastic frame.
  • the final shoe is formed by super-injecting at least one plastic material on the reinforcement (s) disposed (s) in the injection mold, the plastic material being compatible with that of the reinforcement frame.
  • the plastic material being compatible with that of the reinforcement frame.
  • This solution makes it possible to obtain more rigid shoes.
  • it has the disadvantage of being limited to certain plastic materials determined.
  • it is expensive because of the use of fibers.
  • it does not make it easy to obtain decorations.
  • the present invention aims to provide a sports shoe structure having good rigidity, acceptable comfort, and suitable for decorations, without increasing its weight and at a lower cost.
  • the sports shoe has at least a side wall portion surrounding the foot or the lower leg comprising a polycarbonate portion, to be able to benefit from the double advantage of rigidity and high transparency of this material, while maintaining solutions at an acceptable cost.
  • the polycarbonate will thus fulfill a first mechanical function within the wall of the shoe, while allowing without additional cost the implementation of a wide range of decorations by choosing transparent.
  • This polycarbonate is in the form of an insert at least partially embedded in the wall of the shoe by over-injection of a second plastic material which is advantageously a polyurethane.
  • inserts 2 in polycarbonate and / or several injections of plastic materials can be provided, without departing from the scope of the present invention.
  • a polycarbonate insert will preferably have a thickness between 1 and 2 millimeters.
  • a similar shoe could be obtained by the addition of polycarbonate inserts on an incomplete plastic shell, and thus not implemented in the form of inserts as described above.
  • the result obtained is in all cases a shoe wall part of which comprises a polycarbonate element, which element is not a simple decorative addition of small dimensions but an essential element of the structure of the side wall of the shoe filling a mechanical function, increasing the rigidity of the side walls of shoes.
  • the invention has been implemented on a ski boot collar. It could however also be implemented on a ski boot shell, on an ice skate or on wheels, on a shoe on, on any sports shoe requiring at least a rigid side wall portion.
  • the invention has moreover been advantageously implemented by the combination, the combination of a polycarbonate part with a polyurethane but another plastic material than polyurethane could be envisaged.
