Un support d'enregistrement optique irréversible comporte au moins un substrat (1) sur lequel est disposée au moins une couche photosensible (2) comportant une face avant (2a) structurée et destinée à recevoir un rayonnement optique (5) pendant des opérations d'enregistrement et/ou de lecture de données. Le support comporte également une piste comportant des zones en relief (1c), ayant : - une hauteur comprise sensiblement entre 25nm et 35nm pour des largeurs de zones en relief (1c) comprises entre 250nm et 370nm, et - une hauteur comprise entre une valeur minimale variant sensiblement linéairement, de manière décroissante, de 25nm à 32nm, et une valeur maximale sensiblement de 35nm, pour des largeurs de zones en relief (1c) comprises entre 200nm et 250nm.

Description

Support d'enregistrement optique irréversible comportant une piste avec des zones en relief de faible hauteur et procédé d'utilisation d'un tel support.
Domaine technique de l'invention
L'invention concerne un support d'enregistrement optique irréversible comportant au moins un substrat sur lequel est disposée au moins une couche photosensible comportant une face avant structurée destinée à recevoir un rayonnement optique pendant des opérations d'enregistrement et/ou de lecture de données, avec une piste comportant des zones en relief.
L'invention concerne également un procédé d'utilisation dudit support.
État de la technique
L'enregistrement optique, par exemple sur des supports de type CD-R (disque compact enregistrable également connu sous le nom anglo-saxon «Compact Disc Recordable») et DVD-R (disque numérique polyvalent enregistrable également connu sous le nom anglo-saxon "Digital Versatile Disc Recordable »), est, le plus souvent, réalisé grâce à une couche en matériau colorant déposée sur un substrat en matière plastique et recouverte par une couche métallique réflectrice. Cependant, les technologies d'enregistrement optique irréversible, dans des matériaux à colorant, présentent parfois des coûts de fabrication élevés, notamment par rapport au prix des colorants et au coût de la main d 'œuvre pour les étapes de manipulation des colorants. Par ailleurs, dans les supports optiques inscriptibles, effaçables ou non, un sillon en forme de spirale, matérialisé par une piste en relief à la surface du substrat, permet une écriture et une lecture précise des données grâce à un système d'asservissement de focalisation et de suivi de piste, à travers ledit substrat. Le pas de la piste est généralement défini par les spécifications internationales de format de disques. A titre d'exemple, les DVD présentent un pas de piste égale à 740nm tandis que les disques optiques utilisant un laser bleu, plus connu sous le nom de disque "Blu-Ray" présentent un pas de piste de 320nm. La piste est, également caractérisée par la profondeur et la largeur du sillon.
Or, les supports d'enregistrement irréversible, c'est-à-dire non effaçables, basés sur l'utilisation de colorants, nécessitent la réalisation d'un sillon profond, par exemple de 140 à 180nm pour un disque de type DVD-R. Cette profondeur élevée de sillon implique un temps de pressage du substrat relativement élevé. Ainsi, plus le temps de pressage du substrat est élevé, plus la durée totale du cycle de fabrication d'un support augmente et plus le rendement de fabrication des supports diminue, ce qui augmente le coût de fabrication.
II est également possible de réaliser des supports d'enregistrement optique à l'aide de matériaux inorganiques. Les matériaux inorganiques peuvent présenter un avantage en termes de coût de production et de performances par rapport aux colorants organiques. Il existe différentes méthodes pour écrire dans une couche en matériau inorganique. La technique irréversible la plus étudiée consiste à former des marques dans le matériau inorganique, par ablation laser. La présence de la marque se traduit par une baisse locale de la réflexion d'un faisceau laser à la surface du disque. Cette baisse de la réflexion est lue avec une puissance laser plus faible. Cependant, dans le cas du DVD, par exemple, la dimension des marques n'est pas compatible avec la densité de stockage requise, notamment, du fait de la présence d'un bourrelet de matière autour des marques.
Les supports d'enregistrement commercialisés actuellement, basés sur l'utilisation d'un matériau inorganique présentent, généralement, des sillons peu profonds, mais ces supports sont effaçables. De plus, ils comportent un nombre élevé de couches minces, ce qui augmente leur prix de revient.
Enfin, la réflexion de ces disques n'est pas compatible avec celle exigée par les normes internationales en vigueur, pour les supports inscriptibles, non effaçables.
Objet de l'invention
L'invention a pour but un support d'enregistrement optique irréversible remédiant aux inconvénients de l'art antérieur et, présentant, plus particulièrement, un coût de fabrication relativement faible et un rendement de fabrication élevé, par rapport aux supports selon l'art antérieur.
Selon l'invention, ce but est atteint par les revendications annexées. Plus particulièrement, le support est caractérisé en ce que les zones en relief ont :
- une hauteur comprise sensiblement entre 25nm et 35nm pour des largeurs de zones en relief comprises entre 250nm et 370nm, et
- une hauteur comprise entre une valeur minimale variant sensiblement linéairement, de manière décroissante, de 25nm à 32nm, et une valeur maximale sensiblement de 35nm, pour des largeurs de zones en relief comprises entre 200nm et 250nm.
L'invention a également pour but un procédé d'utilisation d'un tel support remédiant aux inconvénients de l'art antérieur. Selon l'invention, ce but est atteint par Ie fait que les zones en relief ayant :
- une hauteur comprise sensiblement entre 25nm et 35nm pour des largeurs de zones en relief comprises entre 250nm et 370nm, et
- une hauteur comprise sensiblement entre une valeur minimale variant sensiblement linéairement, de manière décroissante, de 25nm à 32nm, et une valeur maximale de 35nm, pour des largeurs de zones en relief comprises entre 200nm et 250nm, l'enregistrement et la lecture des données sont localisées au niveau des zones en relief.

La figure 1 est une représentation schématique, en coupe, d'une piste disposée sur la face avant d'un substrat et comportant deux zones en relief.
La figure 2 représente schématiquement, en coupe, un support comportant Ia piste selon la figure 1.
La figure 3 représente une valeur de réflectivité de l'ordre de 60% et des valeurs de signal "Push-Pull" normalisé de l'ordre de 0,30 et de 0,60, en fonction de la hauteur et de la largeur des zones en relief d'une piste.
Description de modes particuliers de réalisation
Un support d'enregistrement optique irréversible, de préférence sous la forme d'un disque optique ou d'une carte à puce, comporte au moins un substrat sur lequel est disposée au moins une couche photosensible. La couche photosensible comporte une face avant structurée destinée à recevoir un rayonnement optique pendant des opérations d'enregistrement et/ou de lecture de données. De manière connue, le support d'enregistrement optique irréversible peut, également, comporter une ou plusieurs couches supplémentaires, disposées entre le substrat et la couche photosensible et/ou sur la face avant de la couche photosensible.
La couche photosensible comprend, de préférence, un matériau inorganique apte à être déformé localement sous l'action d'un rayonnement optique. La couche photosensible assure, également, une réflexion suffisante et une absorption partielle de la lumière du rayonnement optique. Ainsi, l'énergie absorbée par la couche photosensible induit un échauffement local dans la couche qui provoque une déformation locale de celle-ci. La déformation locale peut être sous forme d'une bulle ou bien sous forme d'un trou et elle constitue une marque dans la couche photosensible. Les marques de la couche photosensible étant moins réflectrices que les zones non déformées de la couche, il est alors possible de lire le support en détectant les marques formées. Ainsi, la longueur des marques et les espaces entre celles-ci permettent de coder des informations. Il est également possible de faire varier la longueur des marques, en appliquant une modulation spécifique de la puissance du rayonnement optique appliqué, ladite modulation spécifique de la puissance correspondant à une stratégie d'écriture.
La forme des marques est déterminée par le type des matériaux de la couche photosensible. Ainsi, les matériaux aptes à former des trous, tels que les matériaux à base de tellure allié à de l'antimoine ou à du sélénium, ont été décrits dans un article de M. Terao et al. (« Chalcogenide thin films for laser-beam recordings by thermal création of holes », J. Appl. Phys. 50(41), Novembre 1979, pages 6881 à 6886). Cependant, pour atteindre des densités de stockage d'information plus importantes, il est préférable de privilégier les matériaux capables de former des bulles. De tels matériaux ont généralement un point de fusion relativement haut et ils comprennent au moins un élément facile à vaporiser. Dans le cas d'une écriture par formation de bulles, la composition du matériau de la couche photosensible est généralement adaptée de manière à garantir une qualité de formation de bulle compatible avec un bon écart type des longueurs de marques (Jitter) inscrites sur le disque. Il est possible d'utiliser des alliages à base de soufre, de sélénium, de tellure, d'arsenic, de zinc, de cadmium et de phosphore. A titre d'exemple, la couche photosensible peut comprendre un alliage de tellure de zinc (Zn-Te), de séléniure de zinc (ZnSe), de phosphate et de zinc (PZn), d'arsenic et de zinc (AsZn) ou de tellure de cadmium (CdTe). Pour une couche en alliage Zn-Te, la proportion la plus adaptée est de 65% atomique de zinc pour 35% atomique de tellure et l'épaisseur de la couche est de préférence comprise entre 15 et 50nm, et de préférence égale à 40nm.
L'écriture et la lecture précises des marques est généralement réalisée dans le support d'enregistrement optique irréversible, au moyen d'un système d'asservissement de focalisation et de suivi d'une piste disposée dans le support d'enregistrement. La piste est, par exemple, réalisée par structuration de la face avant du substrat. Ainsi, la figure 1 représente, de manière classique, un substrat 1 comportant une face arrière libre 1a et une face avant 1 b structurée formant une piste comportant des zones en relief 1 c dont l'ensemble forme, de préférence une spirale. Sur la figure 1 , la face avant 1 b comporte deux zones en relief 1 c, représentées schématiquement sous une forme trapézoïdale.
Généralement, dans les supports d'enregistrement selon l'art antérieur, basés sur l'utilisation de colorants, le ou les rayonnements optiques permettant l'écriture et/ou Ia lecture des données proviennent de la face arrière libre 1a du substrat 1. Ils traversent alors ledit substrat et se focalisent localement au niveau d'un sillon. Ledit sillon, connu selon l'art antérieur et vu de la face arrière libre 1 a, correspond alors à l'ensemble des zones en relief 1 c décrites à la figure 1. Ainsi, la largeur L et la hauteur H d'une zone en relief 1 c selon l'invention correspondent sensiblement à la profondeur et à la largeur d'un sillon d'un support d'enregistrement optique selon l'art antérieur.
Selon l'invention, les zones en relief 1c ont une hauteur H comprise sensiblement entre 25nm et 35nm, pour des largeurs L de zones en relief 1c comprises entre 250nm et 370nm. Pour des largeurs L de zones en relief 1c comprises entre 200nm et 250nm, leur hauteur H est comprise entre une valeur minimale variant sensiblement linéairement, de manière décroissante, de 25nm à 32nm, et une valeur maximale sensiblement de 35nm.
De plus, de manière préférentielle, les zones en relief 1c ont une hauteur maximale Hmax de 30nm et une largeur maximale Lmax de 370nm.
Par ailleurs, la largeur L d'une zone en relief est, de préférence, définie comme la largeur reconnue par le système d'asservissement. Une telle largeur correspond généralement à l'interface entre le substrat et la couche photosensible. Schématiquement, à la figure 1 , la largeur L d'une zone en relief 1c correspond, à la plus petite des deux bases du trapèze représentant ladite zone tandis que la hauteur H correspond à la hauteur dudit trapèze.
Selon un mode particulier de réalisation représenté à la figure 2, un support d'enregistrement optique irréversible comporte le substrat 1 tel que représenté à la figure 1. Une couche photosensible 2 est déposée sur la face avant 1 b structurée du substrat 1 , de préférence de manière uniforme. La face avant 2a de la couche photosensible 2 est alors structurée, de sorte qu'elle comporte des régions en relief, sur lesquelles sont, de préférence, localisées l'enregistrement et la lecture des données. Ainsi, la couche photosensible se déforme localement au niveau des régions en relief, disposées au dessus des zones en relief 1 c de la face avant du substrat.
Une couche réfléchissante 3 ayant, de préférence, une épaisseur supérieure ou égale à 15 nanomètres, est, de préférence, disposée sur la face avant 2a de la couche photosensible 2. La couche réfléchissante est disposée entre la couche photosensible 2 et une couche de protection 4 transparente à un rayonnement optique 5. Le rayonnement optique 5 est destiné à permettre l'enregistrement et/ou la lecture des données. Ii est, de préférence, un faisceau laser focalisé et modulé en puissance, atteignant une région en relief de la couche photosensible 2, disposée sous une zone en relief 1c de la piste, après avoir traversé le support de protection 4 et la couche réfléchissante 3.
La couche réfléchissante 3 est destinée à améliorer les propriétés optiques de la couche photosensible 2 et elle est, plus particulièrement, adaptée lorsque la couche photosensible 2 est peu réfléchissante dans une gamme de longueurs d'onde prédéterminée. La couche réfléchissante 3 est, par exemple, adaptée à une couche photosensible en tellure de zinc, avec une gamme de longueurs d'onde du rayonnement optique comprise entre 630nm et 650nm. La couche réfléchissante 3 permet également d'améliorer le comportement thermique de la couche photosensible 2. Elle peut être constituée par de l'argent, de l'or, de l'aluminium ou du cuivre.
La couche photosensible 2, par exemple en tellure de zinc et destinée à être déformée localement sous l'action du rayonnement optique 5, a une épaisseur comprise entre 20nm et 30nm et elle comporte une face avant 2a par laquelle est reçu le rayonnement optique 5, à travers la couche réfléchissante 3. Les deux couches, photosensible 2 et réfléchissante 3, permettent de former un empilement inorganique capable d'obtenir une forte réflexion initiale tout en conservant une bonne sensibilité d'écriture et un bon contraste. De préférence, l'épaisseur de l'empilement inorganique est sensiblement égale à la hauteur des zones en relief 1c de la piste.
Le support d'enregistrement optique irréversible n'est pas limité au mode de réalisation décrit ci-dessus. La couche réfléchissante 3 peut être remplacée par une couche déformable, transparente au rayonnement optique et non biréfringente, comme décrit dans la demande internationale n°PCT/FR04/01897 déposée le 16/07/2004, sous priorité d'une demande de brevet français n°FR0308875 déposée le 21/07/2003. La couche déformable est, alors, disposée entre la couche photosensible et le support de protection. Ainsi, la couche déformable est traversée par le rayonnement optique, avant que celui-ci n'atteigne la face avant structurée de la couche photosensible.
La couche déformable a, de préférence, une épaisseur inférieure ou égale à 200μm, et plus particulièrement comprise entre 2μm et 100μm. Elle comporte, de préférence, un polymère préalablement réticulé par un rayonnement lumineux, tel que les polymères choisis parmi les silicones ou les polymères souples de base acrylique. La couche déformable est une couche apte à suivre les déformations de la couche photosensible lors des opérations d'écriture sur la couche photosensible. Le rayonnement optique d'écriture traverse à la fois la couche déformable et au moins une partie de la couche photosensible, ce qui permet de créer des déformations dans la couche déformable s'ajoutant aux reliefs crées dans la couche photosensible.
Le fait de disposer une couche déformable sur la face avant de la couche photosensible favorise, notamment, la création de marques précises dans la couche photosensible. En effet, lorsque la couche photosensible se déforme, la couche déformable a une déformation de même type, accompagnant la déformation de la couche photosensible. La couche déformable permet, ainsi, de limiter l'élargissement des marques d'écriture du, notamment, à la diffusion de la chaleur du rayonnement optique lors de l'écriture. La couche déformable permet, ainsi, d'obtenir des marques de meilleure qualité.
Par ailleurs, une couche métallique ayant, de préférence une épaisseur inférieure ou égale à 15nm, peut être disposée entre la couche photosensible et la couche déformable, pour améliorer la réflexion de la couche photosensible. De plus, une couche de protection contre l'oxydation, transparente et très fine, peut également être disposée entre ladite couche métallique et la couche déformable. Le support d'enregistrement peut également comporter une couche photosensible supplémentaire semi- transparente, avec éventuellement une couche déformable supplémentaire transparente.
Le substrat et la couche de protection utilisés pour un support d'enregistrement optique irréversible sont, de préférence, en matière plastique, par exemple en polycarbonate (PC) ou en polyméthylméthacrylate (PMMA) et ils sont réalisés par moulage. L'épaisseur des substrats ainsi que le pas de la piste sont variables, selon les spécifications imposées par le type de support d'enregistrement souhaité. A titre d'exemple, pour un DVD ou pour un HD-DVD (DVD à haute définition également connu sous le terme anglo-saxon « High Definition-DVD »), le substrat a une épaisseur de 0,6mm tandis que pour réaliser un disque « Blu-Ray », l'épaisseur du substrat est de 1 ,1 mm. De plus, selon les normes actuelles, le pas de la piste du substrat est de 0, 74μm pour les DVD et de 0,32μm pour les « Blu-Ray DVD » ou HD- DVD. Par ailleurs, la couche de protection est non biréfringente et elle comporte, de préférence, des faces avant et arrière planes. Son épaisseur est déterminée par le type de format du support souhaité. Ainsi, pour un DVD, la somme des épaisseurs de la couche de protection et des couches disposées entre la couche de protection et le substrat doit être de l'ordre de 0,6mm, tandis que, pour un disque « Blu-Ray DVD », la somme des épaisseurs doit être de l'ordre de 100μm.
Par ailleurs, le fait de réaliser un support d'enregistrement optique irréversible comportant une piste avec des zones en relief ayant une faible hauteur, permet de faciliter le pressage du substrat et donc d'obtenir des temps de cycles de fabrication plus courts. Ceci permet, alors, d'obtenir un gain de rendement ainsi qu'une diminution du coût de fabrication.
De plus, la hauteur H et la largeur L des zones en relief sont avantageusement choisies de manière à conserver :
- un niveau minimum de réflexion du disque avant écriture,
- et un suivi de piste correct du disque, avant et après écriture.
En effet, selon la norme internationale ECMA 349, la réflectivité du disque d'enregistrement, avant et après écriture, doit être comprise entre 45% et 85% tandis que le signal "Push-Pull" normalisé permettant de mesurer la facilité qu'aura un support d'enregistrement à suivre la piste, doit, être compris entre 0,30 et 0,60.
Sur la figure 3, les courbes A et B représentent respectivement des valeurs de signal "Push-Pull" normalisé de 0,30 et de 0,60, en fonction de la hauteur et de la largeur des zones en relief tandis que la couche C représente une valeur de réflectivité égale à 45%.
On constate, ainsi, que pour une piste comportant des zones en relief avec une largeur L comprise entre 250 et 370nm et une hauteur H comprise entre 25 et 35 nm, le support d'enregistrement se situe dans une zone rectangulaire I comprise entre les courbes A et C. Ainsi, le support a une réflectivité supérieure ou égale à 45% (courbe C) et le signal "Push-Pull" normalisé est bien compris entre 0,30 et 0,60. Pour des zones en relief ayant une largeur L comprise entre 250 et 200nm et une hauteur H comprise entre une valeur minimale variant linéairement de 25nm à 32nm, de manière décroissante en fonction de la largeur et une valeur maximale de 35nm, le support d'enregistrement répond également aux spécifications de la norme ECMA 349, en termes de réflectivité et de suivi de piste.

Claims

Revendications
1. Support d'enregistrement optique irréversible comportant au moins un s substrat (1) sur lequel est disposée au moins une couche photosensible (2) comportant une face avant (2a) structurée destinée à recevoir un rayonnement optique (5) pendant des opérations d'enregistrement et/ou de lecture de données, avec une piste comportant des zones en relief (1c), support caractérisé en ce que les zones en relief (1c) ont : 0 - une hauteur comprise sensiblement entre 25nm et 35nm pour des largeurs de zones en relief (1c) comprises entre 250nm et 370nm, et - une hauteur comprise entre une valeur minimale variant sensiblement linéairement, de manière décroissante, de 25nm à 32nm, et une valeur maximale sensiblement de 35nm, pour des largeurs de zones en relief (1c) 5 comprises entre 200nm et 250nm.
2. Support selon la revendication 1 , caractérisé en ce que les zones en relief (1c) ont une hauteur maximale de 30nm et une largeur maximale de 370nm. 0
3. Support selon l'une des revendications 1 et 2, caractérisé en ce que qu'une couche déformable, transparente au rayonnement optique (5), est disposée sur la face avant (2a) de la couche photosensible (2).
5 4. Support selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 3, caractérisé en ce que la couche photosensible (2) comprend un matériau inorganique apte à être déformé localement sous l'action du rayonnement optique (5).
5. Support selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 4, caractérisé en 0 ce que le substrat (1) comportant une face arrière libre (1a) et une face avant (1 b) sur laquelle est disposée la couche photosensible (2), la face avant (1 b) du substrat (1) est munie de la piste comportant les zones en relief (1c).
6. Procédé d'utilisation d'un support d'enregistrement optique irréversible selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 5, caractérisé en ce que les zones en relief (1c) ont :
- une hauteur comprise sensiblement entre 25nm et 35nm pour des largeurs de zones en relief (1c) comprises entre 250nm et 370nm, et
- une hauteur comprise sensiblement entre une valeur minimale variant sensiblement linéairement, de manière décroissante, de 25nm à 32nm, et une valeur maximale de 35nm, pour des largeurs de zones en relief (1c) comprises entre 200nm et 250nm, l'enregistrement et la lecture des données sont localisées au niveau des zones en relief (1c).
7. Procédé d'utilisation d'un support d'enregistrement optique irréversible selon la revendication 6, caractérisé en ce que l'enregistrement des données est réalisé par la déformation locale en forme de bulle, de la couche photosensible (2), au niveau d'au moins une zone en relief (1c).
