Definitions
- the invention relates to a gas burner, in particular a premix burner, for use in combustion chambers of heaters for domestic water and / or Schuworther stiirmung.
- Generic gas burners include a combustion air blower, a gas supply with gas control valve, a burner housing, a mixing chamber for mixing combustion air and gas, a burner surface, an ignition device and a flame monitoring device. They serve the controlled burning of a gas-air mixture for heat generation. With regard to their firing capacity they work either single-stage, multi-stage or infinitely modulating.
- Known modulating devices usually cover a range of about 25% to 100% of their rated power. With this modulation range of 1 to 4, the volumetric flows and the flow rates of the gas-air mixture and hot gases also vary approximately in a ratio of 1 to 4. If lower heat requirements apply, the burner must be operated in a clocking mode. This on / off operation is firstly detrimental to the affected circuit components and secondly also unfavorable in terms of standstill heat losses due to cooling. Therefore, the aim is to avoid the clocking mode of operation as far as possible. For untimed meeting even very small heat requirements, as they may result from the heating operation and hot water tap operation, is therefore the highest possible power modulation range down to 10% of the rated power or below desirable. This requirement can not be met by conventional gas burners.
- the modulation range is limited, inter alia, by the resulting combustion height of the mixture, which, for emission reasons, must always be smaller than the combustion chamber height.
- This burnout results from the Schugasvolumenstrom, the relevant burner cross-section, the air ratio of the gas-air mixture and the back pressure in the combustion chamber.
- the dimensions of the combustion chamber height and burner cross-section are within narrow limits.
- Heaters with closed combustion chamber often show the further problem of self-excited combustion chamber vibrations. This can result in burner operation to very loud acoustic resonance phenomena, which may possibly cause mechanical damage to the heater in addition to the noise nuisance. Often these so-called thermoacoustic resonances occur at a low degree of modulation. The reason for this is the lower flame stabilities, especially at low mixture throughputs and correspondingly low combustion chamber pressures. The resonances are therefore combated, for example, by a modulation range restricted to the bottom and by often expensive and expensive countermeasures, such as silencers. Another difficulty in Walkerella vulgar is the condensation of wet exhaust gases in the heat exchanger and the downstream exhaust pipe system.
- the heating system If the heating system is not designed for this, it can lead to corrosion, sooting and lasting damage to the heating and exhaust system.
- the phenomenon of condensation depends on the dew point temperature in the exhaust gas, which is about 50 ° C to 60 ° C in conventional devices. If this temperature is exceeded at the exhaust-contacted heat exchanger or exhaust pipe walls, the moisture of the exhaust gases condenses. Exhaust gases with a high CO 2 content condense even at higher temperatures than those with a low CO 2 content.
- the heater is a continuous flow heater for domestic hot water, then the inlet temperatures of the cold water are between 5 ° C and 25 ° C, which means good at dew point temperatures of 50 ° C to 60 ° C, but here undesirable condensation conditions.
- JP 63083518 a gas water heater is shown, which promotes both combustion air and secondary air with a single blower.
- the gas and the combustion air are mixed and fed to the burner surface.
- the secondary air is conducted into the combustion chamber in the edge area of the burner surface.
- a slider-like valve distributes the amount of air delivered by the blower to the combustion air and secondary air ducts. The valve is controlled depending on the amount of gas supplied and ensures that the amount of combustion air is proportional to the amount of gas, while the secondary air quantity behaves inversely proportional to the amount of gas.
- a constriction or blockage of the exhaust pipe caused in this concept however, increased pollutant emissions in the exhaust gas.
- the document JP H06147427 A shows a gas burner according to the preamble of claim 1.
- the invention has for its object to provide a burner with increased power modulation, which manages even at different operating conditions without the disadvantages of thermoacoustic instability, condensation and stress cracking.
- the structural design of the gas burner is characterized by a relative to the combustion air blower additional secondary air blower, which promotes secondary air and introduces a secondary air inlet into the combustion chamber.
- the secondary air inlet may comprise a plurality of openings in an embodiment variant, which are arranged in the edge region between the burner surface and the combustion chamber walls.
- the openings may be designed so that the secondary air jets are directed at least partially parallel or at a suitable angle to the combustion chamber walls and / or against the flame area.
- the secondary air blower is turned on earlier than the combustion air blower when the burner is started and turned off later than the combustion air blower when the burner is turned off.
- a further backflow protection can be realized by a temperature sensor associated with the distribution channels for secondary air in the burner housing. This reports the exceeding of a permissible maximum temperature to an associated control device.
- the secondary air supplied in addition to the gas-air mixture increases the combustion chamber pressure, thus ensuring shorter flames and a lower burn-out height. Then either the combustion chamber height predetermined by the burnout height can be lower or the upper limit of the power modulation range can be shifted further upwards.
- the single-stage secondary air blower delivers significantly more secondary air than the upper limit because of the lower mixture flow rate and lower total combustion chamber pressure, and therefore the combustion chamber pressure decreases more slowly than the burner power during downmodulation. Also in this area, the flame stability increases, and the robustness against thermoacoustic resonance phenomena increases, so that the lower modulation limit can be moved further down.
- the modulation range which is approximately 1 to 4 in the case of conventional heaters, extends to about 1 to 10 with the burner according to the invention.
- the total volume flow which results from mixture and secondary air volume flow varies only approximately in the ratio of 1 to 2. 5th
- the CO 2 content in the exhaust gas flow decreases by the secondary air fraction to about 2 vol .-%.
- the associated lowering of the dew point temperature to about 25 ° C to 30 ° C causes the moisture of the exhaust gases not condensed and the heat exchanger and exhaust pipe surfaces remain dry.
- the secondary air forms a cooling air curtain between the heating gas flow and the combustion chamber wall in the combustion chamber. This cooling is responsible for minimizing the thermal cycle of the combustion chamber wall associated with each burner start.
- the risk of stress cracking is reduced, which either increases the service life or the required wall thicknesses can be reduced. Opposite the JP 63083518 the lower regulatory effort is noticeable.
- the secondary air blower operates advantageously in a single-stage design. For the mixture formation can be resorted to the proven pneumatic gas-air composite, which ensures, for example, even in narrowing or blockage of the exhaust pipe safe and low-emission combustion.
- the gas burner comprises a burner housing 2, a combustion air blower 3 with gas feed 4, a mixing chamber 5 for mixing combustion air and gas, a burner surface 6 for the entry of the ignitable gas-air mixture into the combustion chamber 1 and a secondary air blower 7 for conveying secondary air, which is introduced via a secondary air inlet 8 into the combustion chamber 1.
- This secondary air inlet 8 can according to Fig. 2 comprise a plurality of secondary air openings 9 which are arranged in the edge region between the burner surface 6 and the combustion chamber walls 10.
- the secondary air blower 7 is attached directly to the burner housing 2. Gas-air mixture and secondary air are introduced separately into the burner housing 2 and flow through separate distribution channels 11, 12 in the burner housing 2 to the secondary air openings 9.
- a the distribution channels 12 for secondary air in the burner housing 2 associated temperature sensor 13 is provided, the exceeding a permissible maximum temperature detected and reports to an associated control device.
