Abstract

The invention concerns a built-in electric kitchen oven with a front door that slides horizontally, completely recessed within the muffle, and wherein the front outer surface of said door is flush with or slightly set back with respect to the front edges of the muffle itself. Said door is suited for the application of at least one removable covering panel, and the overall depth of said oven is such that the outer surface of said covering panel is flush with or slightly set back with respect to the outer surface of the adjacent kitchen units. The new oven comprises at least one remote control device with an emitter of radio waves, infrared rays or other remote communication signals, for switching the oven on/off and/or for adjusting all or part of the operation parameters of the oven itself.

Description

  • The present invention concerns kitchen ovens and in particular it concerns a new kitchen oven with recessed door and remote controls.
  • It is very common, in particular for domestic applications, to use ovens for baking foods, said ovens being provided with a chamber, or muffle, usually in the shape of a parallelepiped, with a front opening that can be closed with a door.
  • Said muffle is covered with a suitable heat insulating material, while said door is usually made with one or preferably at least two pyroceram plates, with an interspace between them, in order to ensure suitable heat insulation.
  • The inside of the muffle is the environment that is heated and where the food to be baked is positioned, avoiding direct contact with the heat source.
  • The known ovens are suitably insulated to reduce heat dispersion towards the outside and to avoid overheating the external surfaces of the oven, which may damage the adjacent pieces of furniture and cause bums.
  • The known kitchen ovens may also comprise cooling systems for the door, the handle and the panel where the controls and adjusting knobs are positioned.
  • Built-in white goods, like fridges, dishwashers, ovens, are well known and widespread.
  • In particular, built-in ovens comprise suitable insulation systems to prevent the heat generated inside from damaging the unit that contains the oven itself and any adjacent piece of furniture.
  • Built-in white goods are generally preferred to free standing ones, mainly for aesthetic reasons, since the former give the kitchen a more uniform and elegant appearance.
  • Usually, built-in fridges and dishwashers are completely integrated in the kitchen furniture, that is, their doors are completely covered with panels that are similar to those used to cover the other units of the kitchen.
  • Unlike the doors of the other white goods, however, the oven door is not covered with such panels and remains visible.
  • The known oven doors may overheat or reach temperatures that would damage any panels made of wood, hardboard or other materials applied to the doors themselves.
  • Furthermore, during the operation of the oven, it is important for the user to be able to check if the food is cooked, and that is why the known oven doors are at least partially made of transparent or semi-transparent materials.
  • Therefore, the door of the known built-in kitchen ovens remains visible, thus breaking the uniformity of the kitchen.
  • The known kitchen ovens also comprise, as already mentioned, a series of knobs and/or buttons and/or switches used to switch the oven on/off and to adjust, for example, temperature, cooking time and other available parameters.
  • Said buttons or knobs, however, are accessible to anyone, even to children, and can be accidentally or inadvertently operated, causing serious risks of injury, especially for children, and wasting energy.
  • To overcome all the drawbacks mentioned above, a new type of kitchen oven with recessed door and remote controls, if necessary, has been designed and implemented.
  • The main aim of the present invention is to ensure safety, preventing accidental starting and incorrect or improper use of the oven.
  • Another aim of the present invention is to propose a kitchen oven that is not visible, thus ensuring the uniform appearance of the kitchen in its whole.
  • Another aim of the present invention is to improve the appearance of the kitchen.
  • A further aim of the invention is to satisfy the needs and tastes of the users as to the appearance of the kitchen, without requiring costly assembly procedures.
  • These and other direct and complementary aims have been achieved through the implementation of the new kitchen oven with recessed door and remote controls.
  • The present invention comprises - as to its main components - a muffle with front door, wherein said muffle has the walls covered with heat-insulating material, similarly to the known kitchen ovens, in order to reduce heat dispersion and avoid overheating the outside and front surfaces of the oven.
  • Said oven may also comprise fans, lighting devices and the other devices and accessories with which kitchen ovens are usually provided.
  • The door is preferably a pull out carriage door that slides horizontally. In particular, said door is completely recessed into the muffle's outline, so that when it is completely closed the outside surface of the door is flush with or slightly set back with respect to the front outside surface of the muffle itself.
  • In practice, the overall size of the oven is equal to the overall size of the muffle.
  • In a kitchen oven carried out as described above and installed as a built-in model, the front surface of the oven is slightly set back with respect to the adjacent kitchen units.
  • The door preferably comprises three pyroceram plates, with an interspace between them, to increase heat insulation and avoid the overheating of the door itself.
  • In this way, during the operation of the oven, there is no considerable increase in the temperature of the outer surface of said door, which therefore can be covered with one or more panels made of any type of material, like wood, hardboard, polymeric materials, etc.
  • Said covering panel can be made of the same material used for the other kitchen units, or of any other type of material, depending on the different aesthetic and/or functional requirements of the user.
  • According to a specific application of the invention, the total depth of the oven is such that the outer surface of the panel applied to the door is flush with the outer surface of the adjacent kitchen units.
  • Furthermore, according to the invention said covering panel is easy to remove and interchangeable. In this way, the user can modify the appearance of the oven with no need to resort to specialized personnel, and without costly assembly operations.
  • According to the invention, said panel may be provided, according to the taste of the manufacturer or the customer, with a small opening for inspecting the inside of the oven.
  • Alternatively, said covering panel can also be made of a transparent material.
  • The new oven with recessed door is preferably without a panel with control buttons and/or knobs, and can be remotely controlled by means of an apposite radio wave and/or infrared ray control device and/or other remote control devices.
  • According to the invention, the new oven may also comprise a control panel, partly covered by said covering panel, which can be removed in order to use the controls manually if the remote control devices do not work.
  • The characteristics of the invention will be highlighted in greater detail in the following description, with reference to the drawing attached as a non-limiting example.
  • Figure 1 shows a three-dimensional view of the new oven with semi-open door, while Figure 2 shows a three-dimensional view of the new oven with the recessed door completely closed, so that the whole bulk of the oven corresponds to the dimensions of the muffle.
  • The new oven comprises a muffle (M) with front door (S), preferably of the pull out carriage type that slides horizontally. In particular, said door (S) is completely recessed into the muffle (M), so that, when it is completely closed, as shown in Figure 2, the outer surface of the door is flush with or slightly set back with respect to the front outer surface of the muffle (M) itself.
  • In practice, the overall size of the oven is equal to the overall size of the muffle (M).
  • These are the schematic characteristics that are sufficient to carry out the invention for a person skilled in the art , consequently upon implementation changes may be made that do not affect the substance of the innovative concept disclosed herein.
  • Therefore, with reference to the above description and the attached drawing, the following claims are expressed.
