Definitions
- the present invention relates to a connector assembly with secondary locking according to the preamble of claim 1.
- a connector assembly is known from DE 698 18 788 B1 known.
- Such connector assemblies are used in particular in the automotive industry, for. B. for wiring an injector.
- connector assemblies used in the engine compartment of a motor vehicle, so they are exposed to harsh external influences. These include large temperature differences, vibrations, moisture and dirt. This requires constructive measures in order to reliably maintain a plug connection. This includes preventing the contact from becoming loose due to vibration and / or temperature variations and preventing moisture and dirt from entering the connector assembly to prevent corrosion of the contacts.
- the U.S. Patent 5,120,255 describes a plug-in mechanism with a secondary lock, which indicates a complete connection of plug and mating connector and to prevent unintentional release of the connector.
- the EP 0 788 193 A2 describes a connector assembly of a plug and a mating connector and a separate secondary locking element.
- the secondary locking element is inserted after joining plug and mating connector in a corresponding recess by hand, to prevent inadvertent release of the connection.
- the US 6,491,542 describes a connector assembly having a secondary locking element in the form of a mechanical slider. After plugging plug and mating connector, the secondary locking element is used to prevent accidentally released by means of appropriately trained locking arms unintentional connection.
- the EP 0 655 807 A2 relates to an electrical connector with a separate fuse element.
- the fuse element is inserted after closing the connection of plug and mating connector in a corresponding recess in the connectors. Only with correct connection of plug and mating connector, the fuse element can be completely inserted, whereby a visual check of the correct connector is to be ensured.
- the US 6,579,118 describes an electrical plug connection with plug and mating connector and a separate fuse element that is plugged in the mated state of the plug and mating connector on the connection to prevent inadvertent release of the connection.
- the EP 1 369 965 A2 describes a connector system consisting of plug, mating connector and associated secondary locking.
- the secondary lock is inserted into the interconnected connector to prevent accidental release of the connection by means of corresponding latching arms.
- the US 6,270,368 discloses a plug connection, which is additionally secured by means of a metal clamp.
- DE 101 51 956 A1 discloses a connector with secondary locking, in which the secondary lock is released during the insertion process by the mating connector from a pre-locked position. After complete assembly of plug and mating connector, the secondary lock is brought into its final position.
- a connector assembly is known in which a plug is plugged onto a cylindrical part at an angle of 90 ° to the cylinder axis.
- the cylindrical part is an injection nozzle for diesel engines.
- the plug has locking arms made of bent steel wire, with locking lugs which engage behind shoulders, which are formed on the cylinder jacket of the injection nozzle.
- the holding action of the latching arms is very taut, since the latching arms formed from steel wire can have a high spring force.
- the release of the connector is relatively simple, since in the cable connection side part of the plug, the steel wires are compressed, ie pushed towards each other, so that by a support of the wire latching arms in the central region of a "seesaw effect" results, so that the locking lugs from their Verrast too be solved.
- a disadvantage of this connector arrangement is that a non-complete latching of the latching arms can not be excluded and also an unintentional release of the connector, such as a jerky train on the connector cable is possible.
- the invention has for its object to provide a connector assembly in which an incomplete mating is excluded and unintentional release of the connector is made impossible.
- the invention is based on the idea of creating a construction in which it is impossible for an incomplete plug-in operation to bring the Sekundärverrieglung in its final position and is visible by the persistence of Se ambiencerverriegelung in its pre-locking position that plug and mating connector not mated are.
- the connector assembly according to the invention is particularly suitable for the wiring of a substantially cylindrical diesel injector to the axis of the plug is plugged at an angle of 90 °.
- Fig. 1 shows an embodiment of a plug of the connector assembly according to the invention.
- the plug 1 has a housing 23 with aprons 7 integrally formed thereon and a secondary lock 3.
- a contact carrier block 18 is mounted, which projects into the space enclosed by the aprons 7 space and which is sealed with a sealing ring 19 relative to the plug housing 23.
- the first locking arms 2 are mounted in guide grooves 24 in the form of a bent steel wire bow.
- the aprons 7 have at their head end tabs 8, which form an opening 25 into which the front end 26 of the second locking arms 9 of the secondary lock 3 are inserted in the final locked position.
- openings 11 are formed centrally in the front region of the skirts 7, through which the latching lugs 5 and 10 of the first and second latching arms 2 and 9 protrude into the space enclosed by the skirts 7.
- the secondary lock 3 and the housing 23 have at the cable end of the plug 1 handling surfaces 27 and 28, to which the user when inserting the plug 1 in the mating area the mating connector 4 presses to first lock the connector 1 in the mating connector 4 and then bring the secondary lock 3 in its final locked position.
- the plug housing 23 also has in its rear part opposite recesses 29, which continue in indentations 30 in the secondary latch 3 and make the rear end of the first latching arms 2 in the form of steel wire hangers freely accessible.
- Fig. 2 shows a perspective view of an injection nozzle 22 with a mating connector portion 4, on which the plug 1 is plugged at an angle of 90 ° to the longitudinal axis of the cylindrical injection nozzle.
- the mating connector 4 has a recess 20 which receives the contact carrier block 18 partially.
- the front edge 20 presses against the sealing ring 19 so that the contacts of plug and mating connector 1, 4 are protected against moisture and dirt.
- the Fig. 3 to 12 show in chronological order the assembly process.
- the plug 1 are in longitudinal section along the thru axle and the mating portion of the cylindrical injector 22 is shown in cross-section. It should be noted that the sections below the longitudinal central axis of the plug 1 is drawn exactly in the plane of the longitudinal central axis, whereas the section above the longitudinal central axis is displaced somewhat in parallel.
- the locking arm 9 of the secondary lock 3 has a profile in cross-section, which is thicker in the middle and the locking lug 10, whereas the side edges of the latching arm 9 are made thinner and at the free end of the latching arm 9 locking lugs 13 are formed, which are formed in complementary recesses 14 on the outside of the skirt 7 at the edge of the opening 11.
- the locking lugs 5 just touch the mating connector 4 on the body of the injection nozzle 22nd in the in Fig. 5 shown position, the contact carrier block 18 is already partially inserted into the recess 20 of the mating connector 4 in the injection nozzle 22.
- the locking lugs 5 are by sliding on the ramps 12 have been moved away from the longitudinal center axis of the plug 1 away.
- the locking lugs 5 are in this stage just in front of the opening of the tab 8 and block this for the access of the free ends of the secondary latch 3.
- the latch 10 of the second latch arm 9 of the secondary latch 3 touches in this position just the ramp 12, the latching arm 9 but not yet distracted from his resting position.
- the secondary lock 3 is locked on the locking means 13, 14 still in the pre-locking position.
- Fig. 7 and 8th again show in detail the release of the secondary lock 3 from its pre-locking position and the abutment of the tips of the second locking arms 9 against the U-shaped locking lugs 5 of the first locking arms. 2
- Fig. 9 is the locking lug 5 now jumped behind the shoulder 6 in the mating connector 4, whereby the connector between the plug 1 and the mating connector 4 is locked.
- the first locking arm 2 made of steel wire now relaxed again is and the wire hanger in the recess 29 reappears (which in the stages of Fig. 5 to 8 not the case).
- access to the opening in the tab 8 is now released, so that the released from the pre-locking second locking arms 9 of the secondary latch 3 can penetrate with their front ends in the tab 8.
- This is in the 10 to 12 shown, where Fig. 10 the sliding down of the locking lugs 10 and 13 of the second latching arms 9 at the upper edge of the shoulder 6 shows. In the upper edge region of the tips of the second latching arms 9, these are slightly bevelled to facilitate insertion into the opening of the flap 8.
- Fig. 11 shows the further penetration of the second latching arms 9 in the opening of the tab 8
- Fig. 12 shows the mated connector assembly in its final locked position. It can be seen that the latching lug 5 of the first latching arm 2 can no longer be moved out of its latching behind the shoulder 6, since the path from the longitudinal center axis of the plug 1 is radially outwardly blocked by the secured by the tab 8 second latching arm 9.
- trough 29 does not interfere with the trough 30 (see Fig. 1 ) of the secondary latch is aligned, so that it is difficult to press down with the fingers of the wire hanger of the first latching arms 2.
- the release of the connector begins with the removal of the secondary latch 3 from its final locked position in its pre-locked position. Then the recesses 29 and 30 are aligned and the wire hanger of the first latch arms 2 becomes accessible for two-finger access.
- the shape of the ramps 12 is not necessarily bent, as in the cylinder jacket surface of an injector, but may have other suitable shapes, such as a straight line ramp.
- the first latching arm does not have to be a wire bracket, it is also conceivable to use plastic latching arms.
- the shape of the plug housing in the illustrated embodiment has been chosen for practical reasons because it has advantages in injection molding. Any other useful form is conceivable, with customer-specific wishes, which result from a given form of a mating connector, which can be taken into account without further ado.
- Another advantage of the invention is that it is also possible to make the plugging in a train by pressing on the handling surface 28 to push the secondary latch 3 together with the first latched together housing 23 to this locked in fully inserted state and then to move alone until Endraswolf.

A disadvantage of this connector arrangement is that a non-complete latching of the latching arms can not be excluded and also an unintentional release of the connector, such as a jerky train on the connector cable is possible.
The invention has for its object to provide a connector assembly in which an incomplete mating is excluded and unintentional release of the connector is made impossible.
Diese Aufgabe wird anspruchsgemäß gelöst.This task is solved according to the claims.
In the subclaims features of preferred embodiments of the present invention are characterized.
The invention is based on the idea of creating a construction in which it is impossible for an incomplete plug-in operation to bring the Sekundärverrieglung in its final position and is visible by the persistence of Sekunderverriegelung in its pre-locking position that plug and mating connector not mated are.
The connector assembly according to the invention is particularly suitable for the wiring of a substantially cylindrical diesel injector to the axis of the plug is plugged at an angle of 90 °.

The
The
When releasing the connector is first transferred to the

The above-described example of an embodiment of the invention claimed in the claims is not intended to be limiting but is for illustrative purposes only.
