Abstract
Description
- The object of the invention is universal ice-skate and roller-skate, which is suitable for use both on ice and other flat surface for sport and entertainment activities.
- Nowadays sport and free-time activities have gained more and more field, so one of the most favorable sports, roller skate is getting more and more widespread. Price of good quality roller skates is quite high and their special drawback is, that they cannot be used on.ice as well. The same refers to ice-skate; they cannot be used outside ice either, so a pair of ice-skates can be used in a limited season of the year, in winter only.
- In the state of the art there are several solutions for producing skates, roller skates, Hungarian patent No.
P 91 00207 - A roller-skate-like sports device with special toothed drive is made known in Hungarian patent No.
P 96 02496 published on 28 January 1998 - The patent description
CH 579 406 - The patent description
US 6 003 882 makes known a skate comprising a foot enclosure with a ball region and a heel region includes a first hanger set coupled to the foot enclosure adjacent the ball region, and a second hanger set coupled to the foot enclosure adjacent the heel region. The skate further includes a plurality of wheels corresponding in number to the hangers of the first and second hanger sets wherein the wheels are rotatably and angularly coupled to the corresponding hangers. The skate may be customizable in that the hangers may be selectively and removably coupled to the foot enclosure. A method for customizing a wheel arrangement on a skate is also disclosed. - The patent description
US 4 323 259 makes known a pair of identical brackets, each have a slot to receive the front, or rear, of the blade of an ice skate, each is detachably affixed thereon by set screws, and each has an upstanding arm which supports a downwardly inclined axle for a large diameter, rubber tired wheel. The front wheel is canted outwardly on the outward side of the shoe with the flattened ground engaging portions of the rubber treads overlapping about a quarter of an inch along the longitudinal center line of the shoe. The brackets may be one piece and detachably affixed under the sole of a shoe. - The patent description
US 3 885 804 makes known a roller skate having a sole plate, a boot and two large canted equal sized wheels mounted on axles extending outwardly from the sole plate. The canted wheels contact the ground directly beneath the center line of the sole plate. The wheels are dished with their concave sides facing toward the sole plate and a portion of the sole plate extends into the wheel concavities to permit the sole plate to be positioned very close to the ground. - The deficiency of the roller-skate in the state of the art is, that they are not suitable for using them both on ice and asphalt.
- When realizing the solution according to the invention we aimed to produce a roller-skate set, which is suitable due to its construction for use both on ice respectively on other flat surface.
- When working out the solution according to the invention we realized, that if a running gear with rollers placed in front and back in wedge form is made, and then the set aim can be achieved.
- The invention is given in
claim 1. - In one of the preferred embodiment of the solution according to the invention the rollers or discs are of symmetrical position and the slanting angle of their axle is the same compared with vertical position. In another preferred embodiment of the solution according to the invention the rollers are wheels with plastic or rubber covering. In a further preferred embodiment of the solution according to the invention there is a running edge on the outer flange of the discs made of metal. In another referred embodiment of the solution according to the invention, in the side plate of the discs around the axle a concentric driving flange protruding from the side plate of the disc is formed.
- The solution according to the invention is set forth by the enclosed figures as follows:

Fig 1 shows the front view of the roller skate according to the invention fixed with rollers in wedge shape. -

Fig 1 shows the front view of the roller skate according to the invention fixed withrollers 7 in wedge shape. The front carryingblock 4 and the back carrying block 5 are fixed to theshoe 1 through theframe 2 and therollers 7 are fixed to thefront carrying block 4 and the back carrying block 5 on theaxles 26 through thewithdrawal bearings 6. Therollers 7 are placed on theaxles 26 slanted to each other so, that they touch each other on their lower part touching the ground. The angle of theaxles 26 is 60-120°, preferably 85-90°. Thebumper 11 is placed in front of therollers 7 as a sequence of the front carryingblock 4 shaped as the sequence of the backbone 3. -
Fig 2 shows bottom view of the roller skate according to the invention fixed withrollers 7 in wedge shape. In the figure the front carryingblock 4 fixed to theshoe 1 through theframe 2, as well as the back carrying block 5, which are joined by the backbone 3, ensuring sufficient rigidity. In the figure therollers 7 touching each other at one point of their perimeters in pairs placed alongaxle 26 can be seen. -
Fig 3 shows axonometric view of the roller skate according to the invention fixed with rollers in wedge shape. The front andback rollers 7 two each assembly can be seen in the picture, furthermore the backbone 3 and the withdrawal bearing 6 joining it. The backbone 3 and theframe 2 are connected to the bottom of the shoe in the well-known way and formed as one unit. -
Fig 4 shows axonometric view of the ice-skate according to the invention fixed withdiscs 8 in wedge shape. This case thediscs 8 join the front carryingblock 4 as well as the back carrying block 5 through theframe 2, as well as the backbone 3 to theshoe 1. The shape of thediscs 8 is preferably formed in a way, that quick slide on ice is made possible by therunning edge 9 formed on their outer edge. The drivingflange 10 formed on thedisc 8 promotes the special drive and acceleration of the skate. -
Fig 5 shows bottom view of the ice-skate according to the invention fixed with discs in wedge shape. In the figure the front carryingblock 4 fixed to theshoe 1 through theframe 2, and the backbone 3 as well as the back carrying block 5, with thediscs 8 and thebumper 11 can be seen. - The roller-skate set according to the invention has preferable forms. One of them is the form in wedge shape with
rollers 7 ordiscs 8. This case there isrollers 7 ordiscs 8 slanted to one another on the front and back. Due to resting therollers 7 ordiscs 8 is provided withwithdrawal bearings 6. Within therollers 7 ordiscs 8 there is a ball bearing, which means, that during the use it can be entirely tilted to its side. Therollers 7 ordiscs 8 touch each other and rest each other in wedge shape and their outer edge touch the ground or ice. - Regarding the definite shape the roller-skate according to the invention has two main versions - with
plastic rollers 7 andmetal discs 8. Therollers 7 ordiscs 8 placed in wedge shape are totally fixed, in given angle, they are symmetrically placed to one another and their slanting angle is the same to vertical position, preferably 85-90° Therollers 7 ordiscs 8 are fixed to theframe 2 placed under the shoe provided with a stiffener, which is fastened to the sole of theshoe 1, providing the backbone 3 of the sole. - One of the preferable embodiment of the prototype of the roller-skate according to the invention is made of metal and its every element is provided with screws. In case of another preferable application the approved pieces are produced in mass production from plastic by injection molding. The
whole frame 2, backbone 3, as well as thefront carrying block 4 and back carrying block 5 can be injection molded in one piece and therollers 7 ordiscs 8 can be added, because apart fromrollers 7 ordiscs 8 nothing is supposed to move. The base construction can be used both in winter and summer, on ice, on asphalt with the exchange of the wheels. - In case of a preferable application a bumper is placed on the front of the
frame 2 to protect thefront rollers 8. In case of the application withdiscs 8 made of metal on the outer side of thediscs 8 there is a drivingflange 10 of concentric circle shape, protruding from the plane of thedisc 8 and which is suitable for driving the roller-skate. Thediscs 8 placed in wedge shape touch one another on the bottom and under the weight of the user tighten to a greater extent. - The advantage of the roller-skate according to the invention is, that it spares the feet, does not burden them, the user does not get tired, because it is not necessary to keep the ankle tight. At the same time it is possible to do the same things as with the conventional roller-skate. The sole can be built together with the shoe; the wheels are of ordinary plastic or rubber wheels. Driving takes place in the conventional way, with sideway pushing movements. The roller arrangement is also suitable for a skateboard, where the front part is the directing part; the back part is the running one. An additional advantage of the solution according to the invention is, that it is easy to produce, and it can be used both on ice and asphalt with the easy exchange of the rollers.
Claims (5)
- Universal skate structure, which has a frame (2) joined directly or indirectly the shoe (1) sole and has a running gear with rollers fixed to the frame (2),
which running gear has rollers (7) or discs (8) joining each other on the ground placed in 60-120° (α) angles - preferably 85-90° - connected to the frame (2),
the rollers (7) or discs (8) are of symmetrical position and the slanting angle of their axle (26) is the same compared with vertical position,
the rollers (7) or discs (8) are positioned in such a way that they touch each other at one point of their perimeters in pairs on their lower part touching the ground, wherein
the skate structure has a front carrying block (4) and a back carrying block (5) fixed to the shoe (1) through the frame (2), which are joined by a backbone (3), and the rollers (7) or the discs (8) are fixed to the front carrying block (4) and the back carrying block (5) on the axles (26), and preferably a bumper (11) is placed in front of the rollers (7) as a sequence of the front carrying block (4) shaped as the sequence of the backbone 3,
the backbone (3) and the frame (2) are connected to the bottom of the shoe (1) in the well-known way or formed as one unit, characterized by that,
the frame (2), the backbone (3), as well as the front carrying block (4) and the back carrying block (5) are injection molded in one piece and the rollers (7) or the discs (8) are added to it. - Universal skate structure according to claim 1 characterized by that, the rollers (7) are fixed on the axles (26) through the withdrawal bearings (6).
- Universal skate structure according to claim 1 or 2 characterized by that, the rollers (7) are wheels with plastic or rubber covering.
- Universal skate structure according to claim 1 or 2 characterized by that, there is a running edge (9) on the outer flange of the discs (8) made of metal.
- Universal skate structure according to claim 4 characterized by that, in the side plate of the discs (8) around the axle (26) a concentric driving flange (10) protruding from the side plate of the disc (8) is formed.
