Description

The invention relates to the field of objects decorated with ornamental motifs of textile type, including embroidery, and processes for this type of decoration. The objects concerned are more particularly intended for the practice of a sport. It may be for example gliding boards or rolling for the practice of surfing on snow or water, skiing on snow or water, skateboarding, or other. It may be devices for retaining a shoe on a board, or the shoe itself. It may be carrying or protective accessories, such as helmets, shin guards, knee pads, elbow guards, or other.

The objects to which reference is made have in common structural features. Indeed, each object includes a part unfit to be sewn. Inaptitude comes for example from the nature of the material constituting the part, its rigidity, its thickness, or other. A sewing attempt causes the needles on the machine to break, or at least excessive wear.

Of course, the part unfit for sewing can extend to the entirety of the object.

In general, it is known to use the textile in the field of decoration. For example, according to the document EP-A-0 330 486 , a decoration method relates to an object which comprises a textile pattern. It is sewn on a support, which itself comprises several sheets of a material suitable for sewing as well as several layers of glue of the sheets one on the other. A sewing thread passes through all the superimposed sheets. However, according to the document EP-A-0 330 486 , the object does not include a part unfit for sewing.

In known manner the use of textile patterns, to decorate a part unfit for sewing, requires the use of other techniques than sewing.

For example it is known to glue the part to be decorated, then to apply a fabric, which can be in the form of son or son segments, lace, or fabric decorated or embroidered. This technique is complex and tedious. Indeed, it requires various operations such as sizing, application, drying, or other. In addition this technique is difficult to implement in particular because of the glue that must be manipulated and metered accurately, and which involves cleaning. This technique is also slow to implement, in particular because of drying times. In addition, this technique does not always provide a great aesthetic precision of realization. The fabric applied to the part to be decorated slides, or can slide, as long as the glue is not dry. It sometimes happens that the fabric moves before the end of the drying, which alters the aesthetic quality of the object.

In relation to this, the object of the invention is in particular to propose a decoration process giving the appearance of a textile ornamental pattern, such as an embroidery, on an object, or a part of it.

Another object of the invention is to allow the attachment of such an ornamental pattern to a part of an object unfit to be sewn.

Thus the invention relates in particular to a method of decorating an object by applying a textile pattern, the object comprising a part unfit to be sewn.

The decoration method according to the invention is characterized in that a reference step of the method consists in sewing the textile pattern on a support that can be sewn, and that a subsequent step consists in securing the support stitched to the part unfit to be sewn.

The support may be a sheet of paper or any synthetic material that can be sewn. Its thickness is preferably measured in microns or tenths of a millimeter.

The support holds the threads or strands of threads of the ornamental textile pattern relative to one another. Thus any pattern can be executed on the support, to form an embroidery for decorating the object or a part thereof.

After being sewn, the support secured to the part of the object decorates the latter. Securing a support is much easier and easier than setting up a fabric. Indeed, during gluing the glue is easily and quickly applied to the support, without sinking or crossing the pattern. The handling of the support is much easier and more comfortable than the handling of the fabric itself. The handling of the media is also fast. In addition, the aesthetic quality of the decoration is greater. Indeed, the pattern retains its proportions thanks to the holding by the support.

In addition to the advantages mentioned above, it appears that the invention opens new decorative possibilities. The method according to the invention makes it possible to affix a textile ornamental pattern, and / or an embroidery, on parts of an object on which it is a priori impossible to do, taking into account the inability of this part to to be sewn. By going against this a priori, the invention opens the door to new decorative styles.

Of course, the invention also relates to the objects obtained by the method, in particular those mentioned in the description.

Although the embodiments relate to a gliding board, it should be understood that they also relate to other objects as mentioned before. These objects are more particularly articles intended for the practice of sports.

La première forme de réalisation est présentée à l'aide des figures 1 à 4.The first embodiment is presented using the Figures 1 to 4 .

Pour chaque bord, la ligne de cotes est concave par rapport à la direction longitudinale Lo.In a known manner, as can be seen in particular in the figure 1 , a snowboard 1 has a length measured in a longitudinal direction between a first end 2 and a second end 3. The longitudinal direction is marked with the central longitudinal axis Lo. The board 1 also has a width measured in a transverse direction between a first lateral edge 4 and a second lateral edge 5, as well as a height measured between a gliding underside or face 6 and a receiving top or face. transversal direction is identified using the central transverse axis Wo. The edge of the board includes the ends and edges. For each edge, the dimension line is concave with respect to the longitudinal direction Lo.

Bien entendu, la direction transversale est perpendiculaire à la direction longitudinale, et est parallèle à la face de glisse 6.Of course, the transverse direction is perpendicular to the longitudinal direction, and is parallel to the sliding face 6.

The board 1 also has, from the first end 2 to the second end 3, a first end zone 8, a first contact line W1, a central zone 9, a second contact line W2, and a second zone of contact. end 10. The central zone 9 itself comprises, successively, between the contact lines W1, W2, a first intermediate zone 15, a first retention zone 16, a second intermediate zone 17, a second retention zone 18, and a third intermediate zone 19.

Chaque zone de retenue 16, 18 est munie à cet effet d'orifices filetés 20.Each retaining zone 16, 18 is provided to receive a user's foot restraint. The devices, not shown, can be secured to the board 1 by means such as screws. Each retaining zone 16, 18 is provided for this purpose with threaded orifices 20.

Each of the lines of contact W1, W2 is a line, substantially transverse to the board 1, at which the sliding face 6 touches a flat surface when the board 1 rests on the surface without external influence.

The general appearance of the board 1 is that of an elongated plate. The underside 6 is slightly concave longitudinally between the contact lines W1, W2. He presents a hollow or rounded interior extending along the central zone 9, substantially from the first 15 to the third 19 intermediate zone. In the embodiment shown, the rounding has a regular geometry. The top 7 is generally convex longitudinally in the central zone 9. It 7 has two slight bumps in the retaining zones 16, 18. Also, the board is slightly reduced in width between the edges 4, 5 at the level of the second intermediate zone 17.

Alternatively, as seen on the figure 2 , a board 21 may be intended for example for the practice of skiing. This board 21 is narrower, and provided to receive a single foot.

The remainder of the description refers to the snowboard 1, but it should be understood that it relates to other boards such as ski 21, wheelboards, or other.

From the glide face 6 to the reception face 7, the board 1 has a flange 31, a first reinforcement 32, a core 33, a second reinforcement 34, and a protective layer 35.

Depending on the type of board the number of reinforcements can be changed and be less than or greater than two. The board may not include any reinforcement or protective layer.

The sole 31 is made for example with a plastic material containing polyethylene. The protective layer 35 is made, for example, of an acetyl-butadian-styrene-containing plastic.

According to the first embodiment, each of the reinforcements 32, 34 is made from fibers impregnated with a resin. The fibers may be made of any material, or any mixture of materials, such as glass, carbon, aramid, metal, or the like. The core 33 comprises a main body 36 which gives it its general appearance. The main body 36 comprises for example wood, a foam of a synthetic material, or any other material.

The reinforcements 32, 34 and the core 33 form a sandwich panel which extends along at least 50% of the surface of the board, and preferably substantially over the entire surface. The panel, and corollary each reinforcements 32, 34 and the core 33, is a part of the board unfit to be sewn.

There is also provided a peripheral edge 36 which borders the sole 31. The edge 36 is continuous but it could also be segmented, or not extend over the entire periphery. For example it could comprise a portion located along the first edge 4 and a portion along the second edge 5. The edge 36 preferably comprises a metal, or a metal alloy, such as steel, or other.

The constituent elements of the plate 1 are assembled as it is schematized on the figure 4 .

The sole 31, the edge 36, the first reinforcement 32, the core 33, the second reinforcement 34 and the protective layer 35 are stacked in a mold. The latter includes for example a bottom 40 and a cover 41. After closure of the mold, an elevation of temperature and pressure allows the joining of the elements to form the board 1.

Of course, provision may be made beforehand for example gluing films between elements. The manufacturing process may also be different.

Selon l'invention il est également prévu de décorer la planche avec un motif textile 50.According to the invention it is also planned to decorate the board with a textile pattern 50.

In general, the decoration method comprises a reference step which consists in directly sewing the textile decorative pattern 50 on a support 35 capable of being sewn. The decoration method also comprises a subsequent step, relative to that of reference or sewing, which consists in securing the stitched support 35 to a part 34 unfit to be sewn of the decorated object.

The decorative motif, or embroidery, is therefore placed in a place where it is thought that it is not possible to do so. This allows new possibilities for decoration.

La partie inapte à être cousue quant à elle est le deuxième renfort 34.According to the first embodiment, the support 35 capable of being sewn is the protective layer of the board 1. The support 35 is therefore a constituent part of the board. The part unfit to be sewn as for it is the second reinforcement 34.

In order to facilitate sewing, the protective layer 35 comprises, for example, a synthetic material such as polyethylene, copolyamide, copolyester, polyamide, polyester, acetyl-butadiene-styrene, or the like.

The thickness of the protective layer 35 may be a few tens or a few hundred microns, or a few tenths of a millimeter.

From an optical point of view, the protective layer 35 may be transparent, translucent, opaque.

Regardless of the seam, the protective layer 35 may be decorated or colored by any known technique, such as the transfer of color pigments by sublimation.

For the manufacture of the board, as we have already seen, the various elements are set up in the mold. The board obtained is of the sandwich type. The support capable of being sewn, or protective layer 35, is therefore located above the board. Since the embroidery 50 includes threads or strands of threads which are disposed on the surface of the protective layer 35, it is accessible to the touch. In fact, the embroidery is flush with the reception face 7, as is understood by means of the set of Figures 1 to 4 .

The protective layer 35, or support capable of being sewn, has a size substantially equal to that of the board 1. Thus the establishment of the textile decorative pattern or embroidery on the board is particularly simple and easy. It is sufficient to position the protective layer 35 in the mold so that the pattern is in place on the board 1. Moreover, the decoration process does not require the use of a decorative support or additional layer.

By way of non-limiting example, there are three decorative patterns 51, 52, 53 on the snowboard 1. These patterns are arranged in the intermediate areas 15, 17, 19 to be visible.

Of course, a different number of patterns may alternatively be provided. It can also be provided different sizes of patterns.

The ski 21 meanwhile is provided with two patterns 54, 55. But again this example is not limiting.

For each plate 1, 21 the support, or protective layer 35, has a generally flat geometry. This means that at least in the embroidered region of the support, it is flat.

Other embodiments are described below. For reasons of convenience, it is mainly their specificities with respect to the first form that are highlighted.

The second form is described using the figure 5 , on which a board 71 is seen in cross section.

En conséquence l'épaisseur de la planche 71 varie, le dessus présentant par exemple deux cavités ouvertes 79, 80.Found on this plate 71, between a bottom 72 and a top 73, a sole 74, a first reinforcement 75, a core 76, a second reinforcement 77, and a protective layer 78. Here the thickness of the core 76 varies. As a result, the thickness of the board 71 varies, the top having for example two open cavities 79, 80.

En d'autres termes, le procédé selon l'invention permet de donner un agencement tridimensionnel à la broderie 90.According to the invention, it is provided that the protective layer 78 is sewn with a decorative pattern 90. Finally the embroidery extends to the surface of the board and in the cavities 79, 80. In other words, the method according to the invention makes it possible to give a three-dimensional arrangement to the embroidery 90.

The third embodiment is described using the figure 6 , on which the board 101 is seen in cross section.

Found on this plate 101, between a bottom 102 and a top 103, a sole 104, a first reinforcement 105, a core 106, a second reinforcement 107, and a protective layer 108. Here the second reinforcement 107 directly joins the first 105, at the edges 109, 110 of the board. The protective layer 108 completely covers the second reinforcement. This architecture corresponds to a board of the shell type.

Thus the decorative pattern or embroidery 120 may appear on the top 103 and / or on the edges 109, 110.

The fourth embodiment is described using the figure 7 , on which a board 131 is seen in cross section.

Found on this board 131, between a bottom 132 and a top 133, a sole 134, a first reinforcement 135, a core 136, a second reinforcement 137, and a protective layer 138. Here the reinforcements 135, 137 are connected to each other. one to the other, at the edges 139, 140, by longitudinal members 141, 142. This architecture corresponds to a box-type board.

The decorative pattern or embroidery 150 remains on top of the board.

The fifth embodiment is described using the figure 8 , on which a board 161 is seen in cross section.

Between an underside 162 and a top 163, there is on this board a sole 164, a first reinforcement 165, a core 166, and a protective layer 168, excluding a second reinforcement. In other words, the construction is simplified.

The embroidery 170 is flush with the top 163 on the one hand, and the core 166 on the other hand.

The sixth embodiment is described using the figure 9 , on which a board 181 is seen in cross section.

Between a bottom 182 and a top 183, the plate 181 comprises a sole 184, a first reinforcement 185, a core 186, a second reinforcement 187, and a protective layer 188. The latter is multi-piece, in the sense that it comprises a main body 189 and an insert 190. The latter is disposed in a cavity 191 of the main body 189. In other words the embossed support 190, or insert, is embedded in the surface in the plate 181, or object. It 190 is maintained for example by gluing. The respective sizes of the insert 190 and the cavity 191 are identical, but they could alternatively be different. The thicknesses of the main body and the insert are identical, but they could alternatively be different.

The pattern 200 is embroidered on the insert 190. It is possible to choose different characteristics for the body 189 and the insert 190, such as color or surface condition. This expands the palette of decorative effects.

The seventh embodiment is described using the figure 10 , on which a board 211 is seen in cross section.

Again between a bottom 212 and a top 213, the board 211 comprises a sole 214, a first reinforcement 215, a core 216, a second reinforcement 217, and a protective layer 218. The latter, which is the support of the decorative pattern or embroidery, is reduced in size compared to the board. More precisely, it only covers part of the second reinforcement. It is expected that the pattern 220 occupies substantially the entire surface of the protective layer 218. This gives the board 181 a still different aesthetic.

The eighth embodiment is described using the figure 11 , on which a board 231 is seen in cross section.

There is, between a bottom 232 and a top 233, a sole 234, a first reinforcement 235, a core 236, a second reinforcement 237, a first protective layer 239 secured to the first. The second layer 239 is reduced in size relative to the first. This means that the second layer 239 covers only a portion of the first layer 238, protruding. In other words, the support 239 projects from the board. The decorative pattern 240 partially occupies at least the surface of the second layer.

Of course it could alternatively, or additionally, be provided that a pattern is sewn on the first layer of protection.

La neuvième forme de réalisation est décrite à l'aide des figures 12 et 13.The ninth embodiment is described using the figures 12 and 13 .

A board 251 comprises, between a bottom 252 and a top 253, a sole 254, a first reinforcement 255, a core 256, a second reinforcement 257, and a protective layer 258. There is also an insert 259 disposed between the second reinforcement 257 and the protective layer 258. The insert 259 is a support capable of being sewn. Thus the decorative pattern 260 is sewn on the insert 259 to form an embroidery. Unlike the previous embodiments, here the support and therefore the embroidery is embedded in the structure of the board 251. In this case the embroidery does not flush on the surface.

Of course, the protective layer is at least partially transparent, or translucent, so that the decorative pattern or embroidery is visible.

There too, there is provided an insert 279, disposed between the second reinforcement 277 and the protective layer 278. The insert 279 is sewn with a pattern 280 to form an embroidery. In addition, a sealing layer 281 is disposed between the second reinforcement 277 and the insert 279. This layer 281 prevents the resin, expressed by the second reinforcement 277 during manufacture, from coming into contact with the decorative pattern 280.

A board 291 comprises, between a bottom 292 and a top 293, a sole 294, a first reinforcement 295, a core 296, a second reinforcement 297, a first protective layer 298, and a second protective layer 299. The first layer 298 comprises a main body 300 and an insert 301, which is sewn in a pattern or using wire 310. The embroidery is again embedded in the structure of the board.

For all embodiments, the invention is made from materials and according to implementation techniques known to those skilled in the art.

In particular embroidery, made by sewing thread on a support, are performed by any technique known to those skilled in the art.

The wire is strong enough not to be worn prematurely.

The yarn, derived from commercial reels, may comprise natural fibers or synthetic materials.
