Abstract

At least one type of solid ester wax (2) is added to an iron-based powder (1) for powder metallurgy, to obtain a mixed powder (3). The mixed powder (3) is molded. A method for producing sintered parts which comprises the above method for forming a mixed powder, wherein the ester wax (2) has a melting point of 100˚C or less and the ester wax (2) is added in an amount in the range of 0.02 to 0.6 mass %, and a method for molding, wherein the temperature of a mold is set at a temperature from (the melting point of the ester wax (2) + 10˚C) to 200˚C, liquefies the ester wax (2) and allows the liquefied wax to bleed out, which results in the preparation of a sintered portion having a complicated shape, good surface characteristics and high density, with ease.
